Looking at your C's reflection while driving...
pimp replied to stormseeker's topic in General Car Chat
I'm guilty too. An excellent window down at London City Airport. On a bend so you can see your C lowered even more!! Steve. -
Sorry to hear that as well. Happened to me last week. Got about 2k worth of stuff from the car. More importantly, broke the window and the dash for me. It's pretty gutting. Hope you keep the C though. Steve.

It's a new noise, that's why I was worried, and it's really loud from inside the car. Quite embarrasing when the rest of the car is so quiet. Still if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Found a new problem yesterday though Mike. I seem to have a leak from my rad or one of the pipes. Only under hard driving. Pulled up at home on Sat night a saw steam coming from under the bonnet, can't see anything obvious. Had a nose around Sunday after work but couldn't see much, had the car up to temp as well and still no leak?? That seems quite puzzling. Still just another to add to the growing list.

Thanks alot Mike. I'll shall check it out. Don't suppose you know how bad it is to hear that noise. is it pretty much terminal or something a little less drastic? How could it have happened. It's not leaking fluid anywhere that I can see? Thanks again. Steve.

no smacks since I've had it, 2 years now, I've only noticed it recently as I said. I had new suspension fitted about 6 months ago and everything was fine. My friend knows a good place in Essex that recons steering racks. I'm gonna check it next week. Will let you know what happens. Would do it sooner but I'm working all weekend.

I have recently noticed some creaking and groaning noises coming from under the bonnet. They only happen when I'm steering at low speeds. I thought it mignt be my bushes, but a friend thinks it may be the steering rack. Has anyone had any problems with their steering?? The noise goes when I get past about 15mph.

Some theiving bastids did the same to me 3 days ago. Managed to get about 2 grands of install. Lovely. Then left me a popped window and some lovely scratches and dent down the passenger side. Mangaged to completely ruin my dashboard as well. Anyone gets offered Aqua blue alpine amps or a kenwood mini-disc dmask headunit. Say no and tell me.

Asking for trouble. In for penny and all that. Mine's running like a dream at the moment, fitted a K'n'N induction kit a couple of weeks ago. The roar the VR is addictive. I can't help myself, I squeeze the throttle any time I can. Sounds superb.

we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??
pimp replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
I'm 27 and have my vr for 2 years now. At 20 I was driving a 2 year 205 1.9 GTI. Fast little fella. Although we did have a row with a motorway barrier. We lost!!! No surpise really. Just after I had my twin 12's istalled in the boot. Dented every single body panel. Walked away with a badly cut up arm. Lucky me. -
Hiya. Hope you have as much fun with your C as I do with mine.

If I was gonna supercharge my vr6, how complicated would it be? Would it be a question of bolting the bits on and remapping or would I have to do a lot more. I like the idea just not to sure what I'd have to do?? All ideas/suggestions would be great.

Found out to my peril that as someone has already said check your geometry every 6 months or so. Managed to pop one of my front tyre last week. Luckily I was at parking speed. Popped downed to a shop to check it out. my tracking was well out and the camber was in a world of it's own. Does anyone know if the geometry goes quite easily on the vr6's as I didn't hit anything hard apart from the potholes in the road?? Two new toyos t1-s and the business end of £200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I was all sorted.

I'm thinking of dropping the rears down to 30 as the back end was sliding a bit last night on a few roundabouts. Let you know if it makes a difference or not.

I always thought they were trying to muscle in on Porshe. A 6 pot lump with a pop up spoiler sports car. Sounds quite 911 to me :!:

my idle was very jumpy, whether hot or cold. I had most of the same things done as you did. Found out it was a sensor that reads the cam position, had a dodgy wire connection, had it replaced and I've had no probs since. about a year ago roughly. :thumbleft: :thumb right:

This was my first one. Only made Sat though. Busy on Sun, had a good time. Would like to meet up with a few people though. Anyone in the Surrey area? Wanted to do the 1/4 mile, didn't get time. Too busy trawling through the goodies looking for anything worth buying. :afro:

Thanks for the help 8vg60.

I just bought one at inters, she said it's for the VR6. Not sure how it fits on though, any ideas would be great.

Thanx funky. Worked a treat, only another couple of hundred other squeaks to track down now.

I have 205 40 17's running at 36psi. I got no wear probs except the usual hard cornering rubbing the sidewall away!
-
Another welcome, I'll visit more often. It's screwed in form behind the pillar into the hook. I'll try to slide it off, not tried it that way I think. Get back to you as soon as I have. 8)

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try check out the pop rivet idea, sounds good.

Anyone know how to tighten the coat hooks up as the driver side one has come loose and it is really annoying me. :?: :?:

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie, just found the forum. I drive a blue VR6 in the London area. Had a few mods done, Mesh grille, T/A suspension, 17's. Had a eyebrow spoiler glued to the front but it decided it didn't want to be there about two nights ago while I was on the outside lane of the M25. Didn't get a chance to go looking for it. Will be trying again as soon as I talk the missus into it. Any ideas on the best way to fix it in would be good, don't really want to drill any holes in the car though. Apart from this is my first VW and I'm hooked on them now. :D :D
