obd2 being the late highline engine PhatVR6 ??? i'm guessing my (early) 95 golf and 93 rado have the same engine typre???? FFS i wish i was a grease monkey - i know burger all!
-
if only i had 3.5k!!! i thought about an oiled up plug but that would burn off after a while would it not? it was doing it intermitently, now it seems to be permanent (3 days) which sounds like something that WAS breaking, is now BROKE???? kevHaywire, you a bleedin bank robber or something? the disguise and fully laden rado gives it away mate..... i want your car ;)
-
kevHaywire, while you're there..... misfire. appears to be poor spark on no. 6 new plugs. new leads. new coil pack. still doing it. WTF????? help please. i want to go fast again

-
dazzyvr6, thanks mate. so in theory i could whip the head off my golf and send it off for rebuilding, then when it returns swap it straight over onto my rado??? can you clarify the cam thing - i'm a bit useless mechanically! can i use the head and cam from the golf? WTF?? clueless......
-
Hi. Can anyone tell me if the head on a golf 2.8 vr is the same as that on a 2.9 C vr? Can I just swap them over? Ta very much....
-
rotton club bo$$, thanks mate. all info is well appreciated. club boss??? not the sort of club needing quality DJs is it? ;)
-
cheers guys. i think i'm gonna try the koni / H&R set up. seems to be the most 'comfortable' one mentioned on here. i'm not an old grandad or anything, but i like me teeth! dont want it too much harder than standard.
-
so you'd recommend one then? what are they, about 500 plus fitting? or am i dreaming?

yellow C on the bridge in Lancing today..... anyone??? twas me in the filthy black vr :( -
i'm gonna out them and treat myself to a new set-up i think. i actually got my bonus this quarter (don't normally work hard enough) so why not. ok, further question...... i want to stay on my 15s (personal preference) - so i cant really drop it much anyway - so is it worth going for coilies to get a really even height front to back, or should i just go for the TA / H&R set up?
-
VR6, thanks. i think i will. bit of a shame as the car came with 2 spanking new dampers included. thought i might be able to save myself a few quid. in that case, anyone want a pair of OE shockers for a VR? new. never fitted. for the price of postage really...
-
Hi all. Was just wondering if it's possible to use H&R 30mm springs with the standard shockers? I've read quite a lot on here, but wanted to know if its possible. I am happy with the ride etc, just fancy it a wee bit lower and a smidgen stiffer.... PS. Can't remember who it was, but GOOD LUCK to the guy in court today for 87 in a 50 zone.

mr.ots, thank you my fellow 6-pot lover

howdy. can't seem to find a link to the top gear corrado video clip. anyone got it by any chance??
-
nor me. i like the chunky feel it gives. kevHaywire, what's your diff like??
-
i know it may seem strange, but i like the weight up front in the C vr6. definately gives amazing traction.
-
i've owned a golf mk2 valver, mk3 vr6 and now have a C vr. i'd say the mk3 vr and C vr are universes apart. nothing like each other at all imo. the golf is much taller overall and the engine is about 'a foot' higher in the golf, resulting in completely crap handling. in the golf, changing quickly from a left turn to a right turn brings on a pronounced 'lurch' whereas in the C vr it is a progressive shift. chalk and cheese. the C feels much more like the mk2 but better in lots of ways. loads of grip. lovely turn-in. it gets better each day imo as i get used to the car. still loved my mk3 though as it had a vr upfront!

any of you lot driving a blue C along worthing seafront earlier? hang your head in shame if it was, cos the mrs said it was filthy and not nearly loud enough! -
dead on arrival? f**ckin coil packs! i hate em. so why would it run nicely sometimes and badly at others??
-
CP. i can't seem to see a pattern in the running well / running like a dog behaviour either. seemed to start at the beggining of the rain a week or two ago. now comes and goes
-
hi. got a misfire on my C vr. have done the leads and plugs and coil pack, but it's still showing a weak spark on one of the leads. not sure what number lead - the one nearest the front of the car. sometimes it runs 100% other times it's horse s**t. have tried doing serches but need help! thanks
-
well, don't really want to go more than 500. have seen the koni /h&r setup online for 490. or the fk highsports for 400. i have seen people on here saying the fk's good but a bit hard. the thing that worries me about the h&r springs is they only drop 30mm. is that enough???
