:D It's what painters use to paint behind a radiator. (A house radiator). Basically a long handled brush!

A brush for a radiator.

I visit Baildon Primary School every Monday and Friday. (Work in various schools). 8.30 till 11 on Mondays and 12 till 2.30 on Fridays. Quite possibly me. Sometimes stop off at the top of the moor where the golf course is and a little car park for an ice cream! :)

not sure i can justify spendin another 900quid on the g60?

Best bet! I had a respray done bar the pillars and roof for £650. That included getting rid of rust at the rear and on the door sill, as well as doing the Rieger. £300 sounds good. -
Knowledge Base?

You'll not gain £900 on your car, or any car for that matter. Best option if bodywork is bad is to get another quote to only get rid of the bad elements rather than get it to a level that your happy with. Might be cheaper then and easier to sell. -
Is it too precationary with 13 year old rubber? With the price of a new MAF I get paranoid!
-
Did the engine bay too! Made a how to in the engine bay section. Also trimmed the crap off of the roof trim as well, much tidier!

Yep, best way of finding out about your car (the details!) I think is by cleaning it thouroughly. You see every blemish. I reeeeeally realy ache now! Interior tomorrow! :)

I've being busy again!! 8 Hours in total and I still haven't tocuhed the interior! These or all I have used (or will have by tomorrow). Notice it just started bloody raining as I was starting to take the pics!

Now stand back and admire your handy work! The first pic is after I cleaned the slam panel (???) but before I cleaned the engine bay. I generally leave it with the bonnet up for half an hour/an hour before driving off but I can't see why you couldn't straight away. Thats It! Any thoughts peeps!

Finally, once everythings hosed off, get rid of any standing water (like in the oil cap area) with the kitchen roll. Now get your rubber/vinyl/back to black bottle and spray that all over too (I used Meguiars Interior NXT Cleaner). You can use a cloth or clean brush to work it in. Now just let it dry and remove all the plastic bags or clingfilm.
-
Now once you've done that, get a hose or power wash and GENTLY hose everything down, working from the bottom up. Don't use a power wash on a high setting, letting the water trickle out is enough.
-
Now get a soft brush (a radiator brush is best) and agitate any muck or stubborn areas.
-
Now get your engine degreaser, I used Autoglyms Degreaser, and spray it liberally all over the engine bay. Don't worry about getting it on your bodywork, it's friendly to paint, just hose it down later.

Thought I'd make a how to on 'cleaning an engine bay', mainy for the VR engine. Let me know what you think. What You'll need: - 1 or 2 clean soft brushes - Engine Bay Cleaner - A Hose Pipe Or Power Wash - Autoglym Rubber & Vinyl Care (or other makers equivalent) - Plastic Sandwich Bags And/Or Cling Film - About An Hour - Kitchen Roll In these first 4 pics you can see the state of the engine and what I've covered up to stop getting wet. Notice the red arrows. I've used plastic sandwich bags and clingfilm to stop the components getting wet. I've covered my alarm, the aircon fuses, the (help???) sensor around the air intake tube and the alternator, although you can't really see it in the pics. The MAF sensor is also covered. Please correct me on any of these as I'm not really technical and I'll edit. Also, if a valeter sees this and spots something I've done wrong please point it out.

I'm not getting rid of the black interior, just making the most of an opportunity. I like the alcantera centres, but would poss want to do the back seats too. Anyone done that but with beige leather instead of alcantera?
-
I DO want them, just a little wear on the drivers bolster, usual place. Plus I've being wondering if 'whilst I'm there' I could do/change/update anything else? If it was sold today, would it be all black leather?
-
Wonder how much it costs to replace the carpet?
-
I'm trying to change/update the interior at some point, I'm just not sure what to do? At the mo I have Black Leather Recaros and, of course, everything else is black. One idea I had was to maybe change the carpet to a diff colour and poss retrim the seats to a bit of a two tone black/beige affair. Like the Octavia vRS. Anyone done this before? Ideas?

Thats a big bell end you've got there!
