Sometimes My Clutch Just Sticks To The Floor!?
ardandy replied to BlackHeartValentine's topic in Interior
I have the same problem with my accelerator pedal, everytime I'm on a straight stretch! -
Probably only DVLA can find that out, and its unlikely they'll tell anyone! Anybody fancy ringing and giving it a try?

Spoke to VW UK and they give me a list of dealers that serviced my car in its lifetime at a main dealer. Also gave me their phone numbers. Spoke to the dealer in St Albans (a phaeton one too) and talked to the guy on the service desk. Gave him the reg and he told me what had being done to the car at his showroom and others. Then he said he'd print of an official list of the service history of the car at any dealer for me and send it to me free of charge. "As good as stamps" he said. given that a dealer that serviced mine 5 times is now non-existant. Whilst I'm here I'll also print off the factory list that was placed when the car was bought from us and send that as well. All my VW history in one phone call! (Prev owner last all the history by the way). Can also send a duplicate service book to them and they will stamp it too if I want. 10x better than the pug dealers I was forced to visit in the past!

How accurate are these? Are they from VW?
-
ah. Yeah, new that, just testing!

Wait a minute? Are all storms 1996 or were some sold in 95? If not, then what happened to the other 190 cars?

According to my calculations, the are/were 3516 VR6 Corrado's sold in the UK! Wonder how many are left?

So the Rieger was a better fit?

OK, after a traffic cop says your cars too high you know its time to lower it! I'm after a 30-40mm drop but don't want to go any lower as its a daily driver and as I work in a lot of schools I go over many speed bumps. I've poured through the various suspension threads for the past hour and still a bit unsure on things. Looking at these for now, http://www.venommotorsport.com/shop/Sus ... index.html I have a few ques of which I cant find a definative answer to. 1, Other than cost, whats the difference between the H&R/Koni set up (as an example) and coilovers? Is it just adjustability or are they better all round? 2, Whats the best place to buy the H&R/Koni set up? Not entirely sure on which parts I need. 3, Would I need anything else on the car when replacing mine? Shocker tops, bushes etc. 4, The Konigsport coilovers are £522, the Koni RHA Coilover Kit is £622, whats the difference? 5, How many hours would a garage charge for fitting all these? 6, Will I have to pay for camber adjustment after fitting?

Wouldn't get a lupo TDI for a grand! That was based soley on finance. Saving money etc. Re: The speed camera detectors. All sites are built into them, it will warn you every day you coming up to a site that MAY have a camera there. If you go on your local saftey partnership website they tell you where they're going to be over the next month or so.

Better off buying a Fiesta Ghia 1.2 Zetec (economical) for about £1k For pure money saving that is. Cheaps as chips to run and not much less mpg.

You only benefit from diesels if you do more than 12k a year.

130TDI Bora are nice and reasonably quick. Or a Fabia vRS if you really want to go diesel. 306 HDI (not dturbo) are v good. (my prev car was a 306 GTI-6). Same HDI engine thats in teh current line up.

Pointless. By the time its beeped and you've responded you've being got! Only a handheld gun can it save you as they have to get you twice and average out the speed. Vans are just one blip.

Congrats guys, you passed the knowledge test with flying colours! Just keeping you on your toes! Ahem

Imagine your on a dark road and put your full beam on. Thats what I did last night and as I'm pre-uprated loom its pretty poor. But then after a car passed and I started to put the full beam back on, I noticed that it was brighter (a lot brighter) when I pulled the headlight stalk back and held it there. As if you were flashing someone but without letting go. As soon as I click it to stay on full beam it went dimmer. Hope this makes sense, what the hell is going on? Why is it 50% brighter when I hold it in place? :confused4:

prob different for a VR6 than a 16v. Chances are yours are the same as the mk2 golf/ibiza cupra 16v etc. I just rung them up and they sent it to my mech.

dont you mean 'than VR owners"? :-P

I was picking my missus up from the town centre when a traffic cop spoke to me. Couldn't believe what he said to me! I was expecting "is this your car sir?", or "driving licence please!". But no, the first and only thing the Traffic Police Officer said to me was "You wanna lower that mate! It's too high!" Then walked off after I said I already had plans.
