  1. Haven't driven my Corrado VR6 very much, but compared to the Passat VR6 I have the coolant fan runs much more often on the Corrado, it seem to hold the temp at an "ok" temperature, but is there any way I could lower the temp a bit, and so making the fans run a bit less then they do ?.
  2. haha, naaa, the project is already started, no way back now....:) (quite a bit of parts already ordered and in house), and last summer I went to Stockholm - Sweden and drove this car roughly 1000 Km (roughly 621 miles) back to Bergen - Norway)...:) it's been sitting in a garage over the winter, and I'm just starting to get my "workshop" area ready (in an old barn or whatever one would call it)...;) haven't even paid the huge Norwegian taxes on it yet, but want to have it all ready for the road before paying the taxes (gona be a summer car, due to all the salting going on during wintertime here in Norway)....;) I'm sure I'l be able to set of a few quids for the Guinness once in a while though....lol....;)
  3. If I'm not mistaken they do pop up from time to time at the german ebay....:) And I think some of the casett players comes with a 6-disk cd player, as it have control for it...:) I guess you can also try to check with the guys in here if they have any info: http://www.vwcorrado.de/forum/ (There is a "thread" called request for english speaking people on that forum)...;)
  4. I think you can find some info here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3713217 I think the Gamma cd player was an original option on the Corrado.
  5. Sweet ride!.......very nice project. Soon starting to do much the same with mine, maybe not to that extent, but changing out all parts in the suspension, break system etc etc + chain and general "wear" parts around the engine. Good to see there still have been time for a GUINNESS!...:) (I know I will need a few of them along the way....lol...;) )
  6. Cool vid.....he's missing the Corrado though....... :cuckoo: :)
  7. Happen to have the color code?......
  8. As the speedlines on my Corrado is a bit oxidised (not very much but some small areas), and the clearcoat/paint have loosened a few places, I was thinking of maybe refurbish them myselfe. Any of you guys have any info on what steps I should take, and maybe also what paint/color-code they original color is?. Any info appreciated...:) What I was thinking: Give them a good coating with paint stripper, and clean them thorougly. Sand them down with some dry paper, and then some wet-paper sanding. Put on some primer. Paint it with correct color. Clear coat..... Would this be "correct" way to do it or ???
  9. Isn't it the standard Golf VR6 BBS rims?, if it's 5-lugs. I see one advertised localy here for roughly £50, but have no idea if that's what they worth or not.....might be worth more for all I know...;)
  10. Was thinking of doing them plain silver, can I ask how you did the sanding/painting?......I presume you maybe took it in "steps" with the sanding etc?. And do you happen to have before/after pics? Cheers!
  11. Nice ones, have you painted them yourself or some "body shop" did it?. Anyone have any ideas if it's good enough to sand them down, and then put new paint on them, mine is a bit corroded/oxidized (not much though), but having a very hard time finding anyone able to blast them with glass or similar....:(
  12. Anyone got any pics of speedline alloys in other colors then the "normal" color?. Want to see different colors....:) Also any tips on what colored alloy looks good on the Brombeer colored corrado ?.......
  13. May I ask if you use normal body paint for the sub frame, or something else?. Nice build...:)
  14. Any chance you have any pics of it?, and did you use spray or did you paint it?
  15. Sweet looking wheels!......:)
  16. Are you sure you have to pull the gear box?........I think the guide states that one can do the upper chain without taking off the gearbox, I might remember wrong though....;)
  17. AFAIK that can be done yes, here is a DIY guide for both changing all, and also outlined what to do when only changing the upper one...;) http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1264409&page=1
  18. Anyone know of any web shops that sells quality HID kits?. Any reccomendation about these kits also appreciated....:)
  19. Ok, so those are genuin mats?. Any idea if the stealers still would have those mats for a left hand drive also ?
  20. As topic says, anyone have any pics of genuin original corrado mats?
  21. I got the hammerite tip from a guy I know, which does a lot of car/mechanical things. He had personal experience from painting the engine he have in his triumph....:) (I was just thinking that maybe the VR6 would be hotter then his triumph engine?)..........was why I wanted to ask.
  22. Anyone have any tips on what paint one should use to paint a VR6 engine?........ I'm thinking of sandblasting it first, would maybe also need some kind of primer first? Also heard that hammerrite paint is a good thing for this, anyone have any experience with it as "engine" paint?. Also heard that some of the heat-resistant paint won't dry up before the engine have been real hot, making it a bit messy to maybe put the engine back in the car as it's not dry?. Any tips appreciated!
  23. Yea, know about them, already bought quite a bit off stuff from them (didn't know about the discount at the time)....:)
