hey guys bit late but happy new year to all . just been havin a look under the bonnet and checking all pipes ect. was wondering what the four wires/ pipes are that come out of the top of the air filter box and go into the engine just under the inlet manifold . reason i ask is that the second one is alot looser than the others . and the car is jerking like a mother any ideas . :roll:

had the pride and joy broken into last night . makes me sick . stolen alpine head unit and kenwood 6x9s tossers. thank the lord for that lovely disklok even if it is far to big for my momo wheel ha. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :(

it was the fuses . i am a stupid *^%# . i would have still been sat there scratchin my head or have paid someone to do it if it wasn,t for you lot

sorry guys a 1.8 16v . the lcd clocks on the dash, don,t know its specific name but you can toggle through the settings using the wiper lever . everytime i stat the car everything has reset . sorry for being so dim this is my first car only passed test a couple of months ago . so basically i haven't got a clue . ta

need to get to know my car , at the mo i cant afford the bentley manual . is there anything else i can use to get to know under the bonnet . i have a 1.8 16v from 91 what other vw cars run this engine and do haynes have a manual for it. ta

does any one know the reason why it has all stopped working ? it was fine today just on my way backfrom havin a chat with the dubsport boys about a service when the damn thing stalled , since then when i switch the car off all the screens in the speedo part go off too then when i swich it back on everything is reset . cheers

cheers for the advice . recently had a friend of a friend that had a garage to take a look but there comp wasn't compatible . it has had a new dizzy cap on . it also has a powerflow exhaust is llowered and sits on 5 spoke 17s (don't know what make) the mech at the garage said the immo keeps cutting in and there are wires everywhere under the bonnet it looks a right mess . the rev counter is slightly irratic and on the first run of the day almost stalls at points .the lights are useless sepecially when thereare no street lights . this makes it slightly hairy let me tell you . when i put the cig lighter on everything dims including the dash. will get some photos on soon.

hi only had my c for a couple of months and only been driving since 24th june , ha . i have loved the c since i was knee high to a grass hopper . its a 1991 1.8 16v with 143k . the engine is a bit rough and the electrics are problematic i think. as i do not have a great deal(almost none) of auto experience it would be good to know where to start to get the car into fantastic condition . i need to use the car day to dayand unfortunatly the jack dash isn't running in thick and fast. so what would be the best way of doing things bit by bit. cheers
