My hunt for a Corrado - the story so far!
ben_wooduk replied to Purple Tom's topic in General Car Chat
Have to say i loved my 8V. I got 38 mpg on average compared to 28 - 30 in my 16v, and as has been said, the 8v is so easy to drive!Just stick it in 5th at 30mph and cruise around easy! 8) Would agree about the power though, there seems to be a massive difference between mine, so god knows what its like between and 8v and a VR !! -
Had exactly the same done to my last corrado :censored: wasnt to bad, i just got the door sprayed from the black strip upwards, cant tell now!

My Cheap Ebay-rado project build, long thread lots of pics!
ben_wooduk replied to sambo's topic in Members Gallery
Impressive painting!! looks ace for spray cans! Compare the first to the last pic, there aint half a difference!! must of took some guts to buy it in that state -
i was thinking nearly the same thing. laughing at the 0 - 60 for 2.0 16v, 10.2 seconds?!?! oh, and 126 top speed
-
I dont like colour coded grills, but that particular one looks 100% better, definitly worth painting!
-
But its still a Rado! My first C was an 8V, picked it up on my 20th and i loved it! Its so easy to drive, you can be doing 30mph in 5th and will drive perfectly! the cost is brill as well, regually getting 40MPG. Sold it to my dad who has now sold it too my brother :D .

I dont know, but i'm jealous :mad2:
-
86k on mine, but i did take my last C over 100k
-
yeah, i went on one last year, possibly couldn't think of a better way to spend a day! If anyone in the midlands is wanting to do one i used http://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk. Only about 50 cars to choose from including ten different ferrari's 5 lambo's etc :D

mate i think they quoted that cos they dont want the business, i know a few spray shops like that, if they have work coming out of their ears they'll quote over the odds and then the options are simple a) you walk away and they dont care cos they have too much work as it is or b) you agree and they are quids in and can afford to delay someone elses spray job! ^^^ makes a lot of sense! yes it does! but i am still going to rant :bad-words:
-
surly it would of made sense to stick that buzzer on them. i think the C is the only car i have had that doesn't tell me i have left my lights on.
-
i want to know where people get their cars sprayed! £1000 i was quoted for bonnet, front wings and front bumper. Add an extra 500 quid for one rear arch!! i kinda gave up hope after that quote. oh and i've seen one rado at a show with carbon bonnet, cant say i was impressed

Sounds like my search mate. Wait for a 2.0 16v, i've had two C's now and both took me over a year to find. you'll never be happy if you rush it! I dont think you can be too picky, wait for the right one! Just buy yourself a decent 2.0 valver when you find it fit some KR cams, More than enough poke for me. I was supposed to be buying a VR6 but i'm chuffed to death with my valver so im keeping it! :D

So this dodo juice is good stuff? If i go over my car with scratch x then super resin polish it, it looking brilliant. but then a week later the paint looks crap again, will the dodo make it last??
-
arh! pretty sure i still have them, but god knows where!!
-
also try http://www.touchuppaint.co.uk/. Ordered from them twice (two different Rado colours) not a bad word to say. the laquer paint and primer kits are excellent
-
Now this may be a dumb question and i might look a bit silly!! but screw your carpets down? now i know you all havent got the black and deckers out! how do you screw them down?
-
another thing, my Bro wants the same mats but in grey. do they still sell them?
-
yes i must admit it took me about 3 months to pluck up the courage to put them in the car. stupid really!! everytime someone gets in the car i give them a lecture! DONT STAND ON THE WRITING :bad-words:

don't know about the sunroof but to get that trim off the handle has to come off. try this: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... ve#p226592

26 is the best i've had out of my valver, and that was motorway miles!! I brought my 16v just as a fill in till i get a vr, but i'm more than happy so i'm keeping it. If the power is enough for you, keep it. especially with everything constantly going up : petrol, tax and insurance!

Mint!! :D
