  1. Wow Andy, that is looking really good. I know it's been niggling at you for a while (the deep paint thing). Sure looks great in the photos. That reminds me, I have a lot of work to do before Tatton!
  2. OK just been looking at your torque curve again and it's at the wheels. So a small correction for flywheel, but still BIG and FLAT as it should be. The exhaust system looks a lovely job, sure a bit of metal polish will get it looking how you want :) Still not quite sure how they got it to fit without catching, but the quality looks very high all over. Can't wait to catch up with you, any idea when your coming over next?
  3. Nice one Shaun! Been away all weekend and just come back to read all this 8) Amazing drive with 400hp I bet! It's that VRT grin all over again :D The torque curve tells it all really..... 380lbft from 3200rpm  Very clean installation job by JKM, top marks :)
  4. Blimey Andy, not another change around. Focus handles really well even in standard form had a hire car for a week at work and it was great fun, nice and comfy but went round corners too. The vRS is definately the way forward for you though. I still can't believe just how good our Golf 20vt is on fuel if you take it steady, it'll return 40ish MPG on a run and 35 pretty easy around town, cheap insurance, reliable (apart from the central locking which has a mind of it's own :) ). Nicks LC Octavia is about the same if not better on fuel, mainly due to the aero dynamics of the boot I suspect. Great cars. Guess you have to really live with a car to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages. Be a shame to see the lude go, fun car 8) Good luck with the sale.
  5. Is this any good Karl? passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDSC009230001.JPG[/attachment:prh1ko28] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC009240002.JPG[/attachment:prh1ko28] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC009250003.JPG[/attachment:prh1ko28] DSC009260004.JPG[/attachment:prh1ko28]
  6. no need to lock the doors - why would we want to look at your doors when there's the distraction of what's under the bonnet  Yeh, but the cleaning jobs don't cost anything and its very relaxing (well I think so).
  7. Don't let the cops see it, they might arrest you for having material of an explicit nature
  8. All Definately. All VR's should have had them from new. Might be the most cost effective performance mod their is :thumb right: Did you hear PeteC coming out of the open hairpin. Sounds like he's giving it a right boot full! Next Coventry meet it is then Jim, see if we can find some more TT's
  9. Voted....best of luck! Feel the Corrado love
  10. Lookin very smart Fay. It's also one of the jobs thats been on my list for a while, why do you think I keep the doors locked
  11. James, well as you know, the brake caliper colour is pretty much the only non standard external part on my car (and the Jetex!). So strange colours are a must. I like them :D Cazza, cheers Andy and I always thought it was the performance that made the colour drain from your face. Must have been the cr*p brakes  I've just been putting everything away outside. Jumped in the works Ford Mundain to put it on the drive and nearly ran into the back of the VR!!!! Sheeeeiiittteee brakes
  12. For a change, did some stuff to the VRT today :D (apart from wash it :) ) Fitted some EBC 288mm discs, late Golf calipers, Goodrich brake lines and Red Stuff ceramic pads. Corrado92.pdfDSC009100001.JPG[/attachment:2obgw0iq] The old setup.... passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDSC009130002.JPG[/attachment:2obgw0iq] Not much bigger in overall diameter, but the pad area is much better. climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC009150003.JPG[/attachment:2obgw0iq] These are the 280 pads and the old 288's for size comparison. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC009180005.JPG[/attachment:2obgw0iq] The end result looking all shiney and new! The road test proved that the extra surface area really makes a big difference, pedal feels much better. Need to take it easy for a few miles to get everything bedded in nicely. DSC009190001.JPG[/attachment:2obgw0iq] Not a lot of room for anything bigger with 15" rims. Need to save some more pennies :(
  13. Suits you Mrs B :camp: . And you'll fall nicely into the 2010 £200 road tax rate, bargain!
  14. Looks like putting new engines in pre 2001 cars is the way forward then! Long live the Corrado
  15. Nice one Chris! Pretty sharp on the old throttle ain't they 8) . I drove a mk5 r32 and couldn't believe just how quickly it responded, even at low revs. Definate way forward if my 12v lets go....... with a pair of turbos of course  I'm with Charley, time for a Bristol meet
  16. :shades: :thumb right: don't need to say any more!
  17. So much respect for the job you guys and gals do  Guess you'll have to see how things fall with work. Safe trip mate...
  18. :( :( Sometimes work just sucks :( Anybody need a new control systems engineer
  19. My 2p..... cam sensor. But check fault codes first :)
  20. Gutted for you John. Just been looking through my pics from the National Day and your C was looking rather fine. As a few have said already, in a few weeks she'll be good as new with some nice fresh paint.
  21. Would love one of those.................but in the back..........with 4 turbos!!!!
  22. The cover slides to the right, it's just clipped on. I use Servisol from Maplin Electronics, it's a proper contact cleaner and lubricant. Even use it on the volume control on my old NAD stereo when that goes crackly :)
  23. Should be a few guides to cleaning ISV's on here, usually involve taking it off and soaking it in brake cleaner. Don't poke things into it as this might damage the internals. Does the engine idle OK when it does start? If it does then the ISV is fine. ISV's are the same on all VR's AFAIK. The harness connector twists anti-clockwise or top towards the front of the car to undo. It may be tight but you should be OK by hand (don't use grips on it).
  24. Nope.... Whats the coolant temp in vag-com? If it's showing a constant number (75 deg IIRC), the blue sensors died or the wire to it. Does the ISV buzz? Could be dirty or faulty. Check the multi plug to the engine for corroded pins (right hand side by the engine water bottle). VR6.jpg[/attachment:3edv92y8] Click to see the text. Hope this helps?
