Kev, I think you need to lay off the hallucinogenics :Fade-color I find a toothbrush works best to get the usual green lichen/moss that gathers on rubbers followed by Black Trim Wax, a bit messy but good finish.

Think I'll see if the guy who did the Porsche Mags on my old Notchback will give me a quote, he was pretty cheap then.. about £30 a wheel to strip and detail them, but he said he'd never do another set of Magnesium rims!
-
Cool, no more looking cheap when it's foggy, and twice the ability to blind people on the motorway for hogging the middle lane!
-
Cheers Kev! So is it a case of popping the cover and adding a bulb or will it need some wiring as well? Or maybe go onto E-bay international and see if can locate a "Foreign" Light?
-
Ok as the accountants seem to have got to the rear lights of the Corrado I was wondering if any-one written a how to on adding a second (passenger side) fog light? Only one may be legal but it looks "cheap"
-
OK so now we have Passat for sure, Audi something and I've also sure I read golf/ Seat Toledo????? HELP! Is there any-one either E-London or Oxon areas that can do this?
-
Cheers Henry helpful as ever! Any idea of part numbers?
-
OK as my sunroof's apparently knackered (according to the guy who sold me the car it doesn't tilt) and I've not tried messing as I don't want to end up with an open roof. I was thinking about a replacement. Now I hear that Pasat roofs are a direct swop but which ones should I be looking out for? Ideally I'd like to replace with a "moonroof" (glass one) as it'll help lighten up the interior a bit! Its a "late" 92 2.0 16v BTW... PS is there a way of manually opening/closing the roof?
-
Could have been the car, I bought it from very local 6 mths or so ago, I think he work/studied in Oxford. If it was it may have changed appearance as it was "de-kitted" before I got it! Have just IM'd you if you on line?
-
Maybe you should "donate" the Borbets to me then?
-
LOL Oxford My Arse! Don't seem to have seen you about, keep seeing the Red @rado in Thame (mines Pearl Grey)
-
Cheers that would be good as I'm in Thame quite often.
-
Cool I'll look them out then, I assume the screw on (all that's left is a bust stub on the metal lever)? All I have to find now is the cover for the passenger side seatbelt adjuster as well as mine's gone walkies (probably the GF's fault :) )
-
cheers chap, that'll be the sharp metal bit with the broken plastic I've just cut myself on! Still I'm not banging my head on the Headliner now! Back to Skyrocket driving position! Looking like a short-arse, until I get out! It frightened one road rager silly when he thought I was a "stumpy" (apologies to those who may be vertically challenged) only to watch 6ft unfold itslelf from out the Skyrocket! Hee hee!
-
Nice what are they?
-
Cheers chap, did you get bored of think of something better to do?
-
Did 'rados come with height adjust on the drivers seats? I was wondering as mine (92 16v) doesn't appear to have it yet my 82 Scirocco GTi does!
-
Have a set of "manky" Estoril's on my 16v (not uncommon I hear you all cry!). Don't have cash to throw at a new set of wheels or to get them professionally polished at the moment but am thinking about doing it myself. Any advice on removing the OEM finish (what little is left) and then best way to polish them (thinking wet & dry, progressivly finer and then Autosol). Any advice?
-
Hmm.. Wonder if it'll make a difference to the amount of dirt the inide of my windscreen seems to attract? I have to clean it more often than I have any other car!
-
Just make sure they're packaged properly :D See my side repeater thred!
-
NOOO! Fix Or Repair Daily parts on a VW? Sacrilidge!
-
any-one looked into the "side repeater in the mirror" thing a-la "modern" vw's?
-
Yeah was hoping to avoid thge stealers if it was a more common part....
-
any-one else had this problem? Surely I can't be the only one who's suffered a lock lever failure? The G/friend left me so I got one that doesn't go shopping, oh well silver linings etc..

Yay! They arrived today! Went out for a fag break in the car-park at work. Fitted the Nearside one in 2 minutes no problem (didn't even drop the harness in the wing!) Looks the business! (just need to get chrome topped bulbs!) Went to fit the offside and the damn thing was damaged in transit (bulb holder prong snapped off and the catch was already snapped! Looks like it may have been fitted and returned) Back in the office, Rang Venom, expecting sorry send iy back and after our lab analysis we'll maybe send another one out in 28 days, only to be told very sorry there's another set in the Post! Well done Venom, top customer service! I await my next set with bated breath! :D
