C'mon PJ sort it out! -
The one car I ever regretted selling... The one in my sig.... For those of an age under 50 ;) It's a VW Type3 saloon, or Notchback... Lower than a Datschund's danglies (like 3inch to the front beam!), comfortable (for an aircooled, far more room than a bug inside) and that was quick, like stuck up behind a Boxster @ 110 quick (no Police officers here are there? If there are it was on a Private test track, honestly!). I miss that car, now somewhere in Kent :(

Off the Shelf Exhausts -How good at handling EXTREME heat?
vwdeviant replied to Blue_Joe's topic in Engine Bay
I'd go with that, I used to work in M/sport and that's when things get really hot! Stainless is the way to go for most club-sport (and Pros). You can see manifolds cherry red when some of the cars come in (Mazda Rotary-based single seater esp!) but they run silencers that don't "Melt". I've also run a number of styles on my air-cooleds with modded engines and much shorter runs, and even mild steel boxes have been fine. Joe I know you say that everything's spot on but if it is generating that much heat (get it on a ramp and run it, see what happens) then I'd also look to a mix issue an maybe ask a second opinion? -
does it "over-rev" in all gears or just 5th? If in all it sounds like a new clutch is in order.... Esp if it still has the original! Although 187K I doubt it!

Rick, Is it Metallic or Flat paint colour?
-
1/2 hr on the DLR at the moment (but tht's about to change) and 5 mins walk. Used to be exactly a cigarette from door to door on foot! :(
-
That's what I get for looking under "Lighting"
-
Strange.. I can see Euro-spec, Angel eyes, French-spec (and Bulb covers..hmm) and stockers, but not the reflectors...
-
Yeah never went back.. esp on side windows! The Skyrocket's screen started to bead and clear at about 25mph! I could drive at motorway speeds and have almost perfect visability without the wiper. Other stuff I tried was called (IIRC) Window Wizard, came in a Pink "bottle" with a sponge applicator. was as good and slightly quicker to apply....
-
Ryan S, I assume you have a MkI with single wiper? My early MkII which came from the factory with a single blade ran fine with a "spoiler" blade from Halfrauds in conjuction with Rain-X in fact I found the Rain-X so good I hardly used the wiper! Tried this same thing with the 'Rado, and whilst it's not quite as good, probably due to the wiper arm disrupting the airflow to the screen, it's a hell of a lot better than without!
-
Is it me or does that look like a mkII Capri with those lights?
-
JMC, I'll have to have a close up squint when i come back and get those wheels! Otherwise I'm in!
-
WOW! get you! Cheers Greeny, a very comprehensive list! I take it the final figures are the ET and the spigot hole Diameter? Time to have a look about for an alternative wheel set up....

Have a post on some of the Hot-rod forums, Lead is an real Old-school technique, amazing and quite scary to watch. Still pretty prevelant in the Rodding arena, so some-one will be able to recommend a good body man locally I'd have thought..... Just a tip, but if you do try not to mention that it's for a "Modern" motor some of the "Hardcore" rodders tend not to think past '59.... Most are very open but (as on all forums) there are the "purist" guys....

Does any-one have a list of what other car manufacturers used 4x100 stud wheels? Was wondering as looking at a Mini (new) and they looked like....old rover studs....
-
Update, after standing for a couple of weeks with minimal use, I noticed the damn stonechips have come back white again! Any recommendations to try and keep them down? Jedi et al... What do you do on a chipped car??
-
Any-one? The 4 blips are actually when I arm the car (still gives a single on dis-arm). Some-one thought it maybe the bonnet sensor been disabled...
-
Yeah was quoted £350 to do bonnet, Front bumper and rear corner where some fekker hit and run me (didn't damage the bumper just tore up/ crzed the paint. Problem is I have better things to spend the cash on at the moment... Plus just getting a panel or two done will show up the rest of the original 14yr old paint.....
-
Some-one's been watching the touring cars? ;) IIRC it'll need some engine fettling, I think it depends on the "ron" of the bio-ethanol... But I'm probably wrong...
-
I can't see the difference TBH...

Worst thing some has said about ur Corrado
vwdeviant replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
From one of my friends... (when I had the 'rocco) Hairdresser! (now I have the 'Rado) been promoted to Salon Manager! When you get a VR6 it'll mean you open a chain then? :bad-words: This from some-one who drives a Fabia! (OK it's an rs!) -
OK Pooled some ideas and went for Megs stage 1&2 followed by gold wax, used autoglym Bumper gel.... and here's the results! before after Whilst is a little better than using Autoglym red in terms of shine, the white chips have mostly gone, it looks about 40K less than the 100K it's done! So far only done the front end & wings as it took me about 2hrs! Will do the rest of the car the next dry weekend we get. Will also be a good test to see how it holds up against the rest.....
