    Mine's developed a crack at each corner too, due to the brick speed hump at the end of the road! So I have a choice leave it or go to 50mm.... Think I'll leave it! Any-one tried satin black spray paint? Just seems like a better idea as you can touch it up when it chips...

    Had a go with 1200 wet & dry, seems to have taken the "oxidsing" off on the patch I tested... Will wait for the rain to bugger off before having a go with some back to black on that area..

    Any-one got a good product for renovating the ?rubber? side strips on the doors? Mine are looking decidely matt compered to the front/rear 1/4 strips. (?different material?)

    yeah that's why I had special polishing clothes! :lol: I'm using (as I have always on other cars and teh 'rocco when the colour evened out) autoglym red but that just seems to leave white everywhere that's chipped. Any suggestions for a non-white polish?

    Was thinking about the base black, as the greys look too light and IIRC when I valeted Mater's Megan a few years ago the chips came up dark grey.... Can't hurt though....can it? Guess I may wait for Jedi's 2p as well! :D

    It's Pearl grey.... Did use Halfrauds stuff on the Skyrocket and it evened out the various shades of orange (Mars red1) :Fade-color

    Would like to try and get rid of the acres of baby chips on the front of my C and was wondering if coloured polish may cover these plus the usual minor scratches on a 100K+ motor....?

    Yep Autosol and some elbow grease. I've used it on all my Chrome/polished parts since year dot. Small amount goes a long way too!

    Ah nope it's a drift (rolled tube of metal)! Looks a real weak link. Mind you when I had both locks side by side it was a shock just how much of the old mech had exploded! There was only 1/4 of it left in place. just have to see if I can get a copy of the original key until I can get to somewhere I can sort a drift out.

    Apparently thye best place for the sensor's high up (by the sunroof)! Avoids the heat/cool cycle of being by the exhaust. I'm going to get mine moved...

    Radge, got a photo of it yet? I used mine (a 69 cross over last of the early body but with late mechs, now where have I heard that before.... ;) ) for one winter as a daily befor ethe realisation that there's next to bugger all (I think mine was the only '69) of them left! Promptly went out and bought a Scirrocco (which also turned out to be a rare crossover '82 GTi Late body with early parts...damn!)

    Ah Mine did this, according to the monkeys that fitted it, this was down to the "heavy tint" (Its factory Green!) If your sensor's in the same place as mine (the rear ashtray/ tunnel) then the heat from the exhaust can affect it. I'm trying to find a Clifford dealer who'll undo this under warranty!

    My Clifford's decided to go all wonky again (now I got the central locking working!). Everytime I go to dis-arm it instead of the usual two blips, I get 4 and the LED keeps flashing once I start the car! I know its an error code but as my manual's in a differnt county I can't check... Any-one??? (D'oh NOT a Cobra!)

    Have finally got the new barrel/lock mech (Ok its sat in the sorting office awaiting redelivery, DON'T get me started about posties who won't ring doorbells!) Just a quick question, how easy is it to change just the barrel so I can use my origninal key?

    Has any-one done this? If so where the H*ll can I get a replacement bulb? Have sperated the control panel and managed to get the yellow/beige bulb out but bu**ered if I can fine some-one who can supply! Ideas?
