To Quote Ray from the Mary Whitehouse experience "Oh what a personal Disaster!" Usual "we're doing this, Impliment, then climb down!" from the FIA...

They doing this a lot with smaller stores... down to their fight with ECP I'm afraid... which has also taken out a lot of small independant Parts shops... Bigger not always better... GSF/ECP parts are at best made of Toffee... :cuckoo: Stu, try www.murraysdirect.co.uk I have personally used Murray for parts and what he doesn't know about VAG bit's ain't worth knowing... plus he ONLY stocks OEM quality parts, not cheap rubbish... Have been in the shop when he was on teh phone to a supplier who sold him a box of "Hella" side marketrs that turned out to be the Cr@p Chinese ones... I seriously hope they came to get them, rather than the rather "Painful" alternative place he offered to put them! All-round top guys and only a call away for advice too!

Worst case is to get a socket welded onto it! I've PM'd you a suggestion though!

Track tyres worth it on a 15" wheel or should i just go 17"?
vwdeviant replied to dukest's topic in Drivetrain
Like your feet! :gag: 15 vs 17.. consider weight of complete wheel/tyre package too! John, you'll burn a set of 888's in a couple track days so pick teh cheapest option, go with 15's and if they make a big difference then upgrade to some cheap light 17 (Team dymanics, or similar) and tyres.. -
Hehe. :D The thing is, that post is entirely true. :) Tell us more Tom... about the Braun car not your flashing!

Title change... Coilovers how much do the settle?
vwdeviant replied to vwdeviant's topic in Drivetrain
OK rather than start "Another thread" KW-1's will be on this weekend, so I'm wondering just how much do they Settle by after running them for a bit? Have to take into consideration 3 speed humps in our road, (one of which is big enough to be recently filmed with a bunch of celebs climing it for Comic Relief!) :mad2: Suspension's being done at a mates workshop some 60 miles away so I have that trip back round the M25 to get the coilies to "settle down" and if I set them at it's current height and they drop say 10mm I'm going to bugger the chin spoiler up (just "kisses" 2 of them ATM) So any advice would be much appreciated... :salute: -
Schumy was quoted as thinking the new "Win" system is a mistake as well today... So all we need is for Massa or Kimmi to look like they won't make the championship and hey-presto back to the old system! :hitler: I can see the reasoning, but why not just make the points gap between 1st & 2nd bigger?

Could try murraysdirect they stock some Rado Service parts and all are proper OEM quality too! I personally can vouch for them! Bought a lot of Ail-coold stuff from Murray himself back in the day... Where in the world are you dude? -
My Rear most one had gone so I tied it through the "Body mount" (bit they use at the factory to move cars about) next to it... been over a year like that and all's good! Now I've said that... watch it break :norty:
-
Had this with mine... Problem being is that the Ali shield's probably been eaten through to size of the clips... Solution... Silicon Tie Wraps!

Checked your inner arches Neil? :norty:

I vote paint them pink or orange Kempy!

:salute: Cheers Dudes... ordered VR spec ones (same as Late 16v? Seemed to be on ETKA) It's a KW-1 kit so all should be plain sailing! Just wanted to get the bump-stops done whilst they were out, made sense... -
And make sure it's satin or matt finish, as having shiny paint behind glass looks a bit :camp: IMHO

Hi Guys, ordering up my new topmounts but the local dealers are a bit confused about what to order... On ETKA shows a range of parts (from the top) Nut Washer Nut Cup Bearing (Rubber) Washer Nut Sleeve Bearing (Rubber-Large) "Top Hat" So the question is what do I need to order to add to my Coilover kit?? Help please!

We'll ignore the time he apparently ended up in Brands Hatch's carpark during an F3 race then! :ignore: That's not either fair or accurate. Ecclestone bought and ran the Brabham Team successfully for many years including the season when Nelson Piquet won the world championship. I don't think that anyone would argue that commercially F1 has blossomed since he got involved in it's management in the mid-1980s. Yeah OK so I "condensed" it a little John! But maybe goes some way to his apprent hatred of what is really the only decent venue here in the UK, Silverstone? Anyway we all know Bernie has some pretty "Mad" ideas... "The Brabham Fan Car" anyone? Mostly brought about because he signed a deal with Alfa to run their (Heavy) flat 12's in the ground effect years... which is when I really started following F1, Jones was the first driver who really got my attention. He has some good ideas too... like Nelson Piquet... Just makes me angry to see a 'sport' run in such a political way (and yes F1's more a business now)... Anyway back to the main points of this discussion.... I hope Braun GP whip ass (at least early on).... and Massa's a hamster!
