Was it black with black roof?? My mate has an S4 cab in that combo and he has the restrictor taken off. He's from Manchester but is a rep so he travels round a lot. He reckons its good for at least 180 but he's only taken it up to 160 so far.

Im from Luton, just moved here from Harpenden. Got an Aqua Blue Pearl VR - bought it off my boss who lives in Watford so i'm assuming from the replies above that some of you have seen my car around.
-
I just sent him a question to see if this is the long awaited x-type cabriolet. I'm not expecting a response.

Hahahahaha, that's the best thing i've read in a while!!!! Kind of puts you ff being the good samaritan!!!
-
Have you looked into a re-trim?? BTW Triggermyson, who's yer chairman mate??
-
Good shout trigger, what is the point of this thread?? There's already plenty of dating websites out there for this kind of thing.

The Marquis and Granby pub car park in Harpenden - you can't get in or out in a c!!!
-
I think you might have cracked it - haven't actually taken it for a spin to check but it was fine on idle. Years of build up stuck under there!

I don't think they're in too good shape as engine feels like its vibrating the whole front of the car whe you give it some revs.
-
Mine also does this, terminals seem fine. More worryingly the handbrake light turns on full when just driving down the motorway. Brake pads were changed about 6k miles ago. Any any other ideas?
-
Mine appears to do quite the opposite - cruising down the m/way at 85ish and the speed will slowly start to drop without me moving my foot. Then a few seconds later it will just take off and surge right back up to the speed I was doing (it's a good feeling but surely can't be good for the car) Does it most often after heavy rain. Any ideas anyone??

I had this exact same problem on my VR - it got worse and worse until one day I flicked the bonnet to find a rapid drip coming the longer of the two lines. On closer inspection the pipe that was leaking was attached to the rail by an aftermarket jubilee clip (a jewson jobbie) which was quite obviously not strong enough to hold up to the job (a lot of pressure is forced down the fuel lines) As a temp fix i simply detached the hose, covered it in coke (the drink) reattached the hose and then let it dry. No smell of fuel for a couple of weeks now.

Gotta agree with Walesy above - I have driven both vehicles and the Rado knocks the s*it out of a Vectra (not wishing to turn this into Vauxhall bashing sesh - or shall we?) No, seriously. Wait til you chuck it into that first corner - you'll see that you made the right choice - and with a £5k budget you'll get an absolute minter!! Waiting for that first post after you've driven it!!

How fast have you had out of your standard VR?
NottsCounty replied to VRev6's topic in General Car Chat
I managed (indicated) 154/5ish on the M25 very early one morning on the way to Gatwick however a mate following in an M3 said the GPS was showing at 145 so i'd be a bit more inclined to go with his reading. 1 mph short of the claimed 146 is not bad for a standard 147k VR with 1 passenger and luggage tho. Whatever you do tho do not flick the MFA to MPG setting. Mine indicated 11.2 and dropping fast!!! -
I've had this problem also - if I remember rightly it was the speed control unit. Got one of eBay for £20 - basically if it's working on 4 there is no prob with the heater unit itself. Hope this helps
