Personally, I'd get the charger down to Darren for a quick health check and an RS outlet to replace the charger outlet silencer box (that big black box which bolts onto the charger and tends to leak like a sieve... ) From there, I'd get a smaller pulley and an SNS stage 5.5 chip and then grin like a loony! *edit* Ah, if it's got a 68mm pulley already, I'd just get the SNS chip which will make a nice difference over the Jabba one... 8)

List of cars to replace my Corrado (well, one of 'em!) with at some point in the future include: Late Porsche 944 Turbo S4... they keep on calling to me to go and buy one, but I don't think I'd be safe in one... :| 3.2 Porsche Boxter, but I'm not a hairdresser... ;) Audi RS4 Avant, although finding one in good nick isn't easy.... Audi RS6 Estate, purely 'cos they're fecking ENORMOUS, stupidly fast and can be picked up pretty cheaply!

OK, an oil cooler is NOT going to give you any more power out of your engine... However, it will allow it to run cooler and preserve the engine internals by preventing the oil from getting too hot and breaking down... 8) The other good thing is that you can bin the stupid heat exchanger oil cooler that's fitted as standard to G60s which can break down internally flooding the water system with oil and visa-versa making it appear you've blown the head gasket and generally screwing up your day... :| If you're planning on keeping the car for any length of time, or modifying the car to get more power out of the engine, I'd rate this among the top 3 modifications to do and probably the one I'd do first... 8) Stealth, G-werks, JMR and many other people supply kits, although these 3 will know exactly which bits to send you/fit so you know you're getting the correct kit for your car... Most of them are based around a MOCAL oil cooler radiator with a 90degree C thermostatic take off plate which goes in place of the existing oil cooler... a pair of MKI Golf water hoses are then required to replace the water feed/return from the old oil cooler, or a piece of copper tube can be used instead to keep the costs down... 8)

What? You don't like the paint scheme I did on my Type 2 van then?!? Looked rather good, although the (matt) flourescent green pin stripe WAS a little overkill... The eventual plan was to laquer the whole thing to make it gloss, but I scrapped the van before I got around to doing that bit...
-
:iamwithstupid: yeah, Matt black with Primer grey racing stripes! :silly:  *edit* awww.... you've gone with a merc colour while we were busy coming up with suggestions... :(

It looks like one of their standard aftermarket ones... They're available from their website in several flavours and sizes... 8)

if it's happily sat there, ignore it... the gauge on the dash is pretty inaccurate anyway, so just use it as an indicator rather than taking it as gospel... obviously if it suddenly shoots off the top of the scale, then stop and investigate, but otherwise if the temp drops again once you're moving, it's OK... 8)

pretty certain that the Audi is a longitudinally mounted engine rather than transverse (ie the pistons are lined front to back in the car, rather than across the car like in the corrado...) IIRC it's also a 5 cylinder so is quite a bit longer than any engine normally fitted to a Corrado... It IS do-able, but would require one hell of a lot of hacking and fabrication... :|

Ford "Black" (circa around 1970) is just straight BLACK.... you can't get much darker 'cos that's the only pigment in there!

Stealth RR DVD - Poll Updated (Price of DVD, etc)
Henny replied to G60Jet's topic in General Car Chat
G60Jet, pm me your address and I'll sling a copy of all 1.18Gb of my photos and videos down to you... 8) -
dr_mat, do you find it as weird as I do that the LAW dictates the font, but an MOT doesn't? The MOT just states that it has to be legible... :|

I normally blank the reg plates on my cars in photos... My thinking is that I detail the mods I've done on here and just how much cash I've put into my cars, and that it's relatively easy to get someones registered address for a number plate and then go and nick the car if they know your number plate... it's probably paranoia, but that kinda sums me up with my cars at times... :| I think in most cases where people blank their plates/want them blanking in photos (even if the people don't admit it) it's got something to do with a paranoia that someone's going to trace their plate or clone their car numberplate so that they can dodge the congestion charges or get away with speeding or driving with no insurance/tax... Think about it, order a set of plates off a website in Ireland, stick 'em on your car and you're free to do what speed you like or drive around London in your similar coloured car knowing that you're untracable due to it being someone elses numberplate you're displaying... :|

'taint gonna happen for a long while yet... it's got so many flaws and ways around the available technology that any system inplemented at the moment can be overcome with the simple use of some tinfoil... Don't panic, we'll just continue to get screwed on the fuel and road tax for a good few years yet...

sounds to me like the conductive rubber strip along the bottom of the LCD which is displaying garbage has moved slightly/isn't lined up properly, and if the other one is upside down, then that's an obvious one to fix!  If both bulbs aren't working, but the lights across the top ARE, then I'd check that the bulbs are in properly and that they're the correct type with the electrical connector on the correct side of the circuit board. If it's neither of those, then I'd check that the copper hasn't been damaged when you installed them... It's actually relatively difficult to mangle the LCDs up badly if you were taking care, so if you strip it back down and put it all back together in the correct order/location and line it up properly, odds are it'll all start working again... 8)

Aren't C&R enterprises over your way? Bet they'd be able to do 4 wheel alignment... http://www.candrenterprises.co.uk 8) *edit - ah, OK, they're in Nottingham... my Geography ain't too good  *

mines around 11Lb and was done at Race Power Via JMR (I sent it to John, who got me a better price from Race Power!) Makes a nice difference to the speed the engine spins up and down through the rev range... 8)

rmn, look at that link I just posted... this is the guy who's doing the G60 heads for G-werks... his work's not just good, he's a fecking artist... 8) :notworthy:

have a word with CNCHeads... they run a two hundred and something silly BHP N/A 16V engine!  8) http://www.cncheads.co.uk/vw_1800_16v.html *edit - web link adjusted, oh, and it's 252BHP from a N/A 1.8 16V with different cams and the fuelling adjusted to suit! 8) *

holy shit... Glad you're OK mate, that looks to have been quite a biggie to put it on it's roof and then back onto its wheels again... :| If you're breaking her, can I have dibs on the front passenger wing and front bumper please?

:iamwithstupid: 8) NEVER accept the first offer the insurance company gives you... this is the "Ah, we've got a customer who doesn't know how the system works" offer which will be the lowest they think Joe Public would take for their car... Get evidence that shows how much similar cars are selling for, and any receipts you have for any work that's been done on the car and send 'em a letter telling 'em you want more than the first offer... 8)

To me, it all depends on the track and how many other people were allowed on at the same time... I'm damned if I'm gonna take a car I've spent well over £10K and countless hours working on to a track day where some little muppet in a Paxo/cursor/fester/insert generic chavmobile here is gonna end up trying to prove something and end up smashing my car up in the process... I don't fancy getting done for Murder, and that's what'd happen... ;) I'd be happy to spend upto £100 for a GOOD days track usage, preferably VAG only and on a good track like Oulton park, Donnington, Silverstone (yeah, like that's going to happen!) etc etc etc... If it's a sprint circuit like Curborough, then the amount that Club GTI charges is about right (around £35 for as many sprints as you can queue up for and run in a day!)

it shouldn't go through the wiper mechanism... :| looks like someone's bodged yours when they fitted a new one in the past... :| Any chance of a photo so we can see where you mean Valerian? 8)

does she do a lot of short journeys? this is pretty common on cars which never have time to run up to temperature properly as the inside of the engine collects condensation which mixes with the oil causing the emulsion on the cap... Check for the same kinda crud on the dipstick, if it's clear then give it a good long run, making sure you keep an eye on the water temps and water and oil levels periodically, then give it a good service... 8) If there IS crud on the dipstick, then the odds are the head gasket (or the oil cooler if it's got a water/oil cooler) has gone... :(

visit http://www.g-werks.co.uk and look in the boost return deletion kit section... all will become clear... Give Darren some money, wait a little while, fit the kit and you'll grin! 8) ;)
