  2. As above, David beat me to it.
  3. After about a year and a half sat gathering a thick layer of dust in my lock-up, I fixed it and got it running. Few more bits to do then MOT, and use :D
  4. This sounds like the MAF playing up, I had the same on my dads bora, changed that and was fine, however..... I'm not sure about this, would be best to get it scanned with vagcom to see if there are any fault codes (the MAF unless really dead will not give a fault code), at least this would give some idea as to whats wrong. HTH Jonathan
  5. Might be a daft question but have you wired the speakers up correctly? because this can make them sound flat at low volume and distort easily at higher volumes.
  6. Currently ( as in at this minute ) i'm listening to fantomas, although some of my work mate think im weird for liking them. http://www.myspace.com/fantomasband
  7. There are a few knocking around as well as a few G60's and 16v's. Where abouts in Notts are you?
  8. Hi mate, yes you just drill out the hubs (17mm) IIRC, then fit the bush, then TRE. I only ordered them as I needed bits for my dads '67 splitty, and they were on the same page. I've yet to fit them but before I posted I tried slotting a spare TRE that I had into them, to check that the taper/ fitment was correct.
  9. Hi guys, if you want to fit your TRE upside down, you can use the bump steer bushes that are available from SSP, an air- cooled company. http://www.vwheritage.com/ssp/Steering/?templateID=ssp These bushes do fit the Rado TRE's as I have just tried with some spares that I have. HTH Jonathan
  10. It might be worth contacting http://www.janspeed-bhp.com/ as they now own RamAir HTH Jonathan
  11. The 9a has a large relay/fuse next to / in front of the coolant reservoir that is on the fan circuit, I had to change this on mine as i had high temps and changing temp senders etc didn't help. HTH Jonathan
  12. I have a mk4 golf gti and a mk2 gti, although the mk2 is now only a shell and should finally be scrapped by next week
  13. As above have only ever come across 24mm nuts on the steering wheels on VAG cars.
  14. That looks great, which bodyshop did you use?
  15. Guys and gals, if you need any genuine vw parts give Nottingham VW a call, as they will happily give discount ( around 10% ) to forum/CCGB/CGTI members Nottingham VW 199 Mansfield Road, Daybrook, Nottingham, NG5 6GZ 0115 9204141
  16. Must admit I only know about them because I had to remove my bumper last week
  17. Welcome to the forum first off, as has previously been mentioned there are 4x 17mm bolts, as well as these there are 5x 10mm bolts that hold the splitter to the radiator support, and there are also 2x 8mm screws/bolts holding the wheel arch liner to the bumper. As for the rear it's just the 4x 17mm bolts. HTH Jonathan
  18. I think you'll have some fun building that mate, never mind driving it when it's done.
  19. I changed the oil + filter and gear oil, today and am still waiting for my fuel pumps and filter to arrive...
