time for an update, had the kr cam mod done, with p+p head and manifolds for good measure, changed the wheels to 7jx15 bbs' look similar to the G60's, and have just changed the front brakes to G60 spec with black diamond discs and pads, and the rears to mk4 callipers with BD discs and pads with goodridge hoses all round. Just need to change the rear compensator valve and all the rear metal brake pipes as they have all corroded to bu**ery. Pics to follow when its been washed
-
turns out one of the h/brake mechs on the rear callipers is starting to seize so im thinking of going down the mk4 rear callipers route, luckily it has happened before i fitted the g60 fronts and goodrige hoses all round, it just means i can get it all done at the same time and obviously puts the cost up. TF its payday for me next week.

basically the other day my handbrake started to feel looser (not moving the cable) below a certain point, now when i pull the lever up it clicks twice and dosnt feel as though its doing much. does anyone know what it could be??? thanks in advance Jonathan
-
sounds like the wheel bearings mate
-
g60 calipers and carriers are the same as the vr so you will be fine
-
unfortunatly with the new system being computerised that works out the brake efficiency where on the old system it was down to the tester, who unless it was really poor would just give an advisory note.
-
right then just dug out my paperwork from my apprenticeship to be a mechanic, and the handbrake has got to be at least 16% efficeint. hope that helps

I know this will get locked immediately.... perhaps not....

well done mate. :thumbleft: can't wait to see it at some shows in the near future -
also the pads are low dust so your wheels stay cleaner for longer. had them on my old ibiza and will have them on my rado when i change to the G60 brakes
