It's not that, cos the WHOLE mechanism comes off - not just the pipe. I will take a more detailed picture of my own car tomorrow and show you EXACTLY what can go wrong.. the pipe comes from the rad and plugs into a plastic bit...this is bolted to another plastic bit that connects to the water bottle...the two plastic parts are noe stayong together because the retaining nut are bulling oiut of the plastic bit that they are moulded into.. ...hmmm - if you can work that one out you deserve a medal !!! I will take pictures like I said :D New fastening system means no serious threat with losing water and engine running. :)

Has anyone else come across the problem of thei VERY IMPORTANT pipe coming off (and pulling the securing nuts and bolts with it) before? I have secured it with more substantial nuts and bolts but wondered why it only happened in 1st gear. SYMPTOMS: Red temperature light comes on SOLUTION: S T O P G E T W A T E R !!!

Pleased to say - all was fine on emissions testing - shame about wishbones though - lol... still.. can't grumble about "wear & tear" parts aye?

Bloody garage claim that they "couldn't get a single HT lead" !!! Sounds like crap to me too ! I'll get one for them tomorrow - thank God for Motorcycles eh?

Hmmm - here goes... 1 HT leads - can they be bought individually...or do I have to buy a FULL set of 6? 2 Local garage changing wishbones - bolts snapped BOTH sides - is this common or should I go mental with them? 3 How long should it take to fit a new starter motor (experienced fitter ) ? I hate MOTs "£200 sir - oh yes, I forgot, yours was tha Corrado - I'll add the 1 now £1,200 please (- +VAT and G&T) ?? Lol :?

I see - but what is there to compare - I will be making NO MODS on the day and therefore see no point have 2 runs ! I have had 2 runs recently with AmD, but it was a before and after "re-map". I want to do it though, so I will probably send some money - £10 deposit, and the rest "on the day" is it? Same name and address as posted earlier in this thread? Too late yet?

Do I take it that I can't just pay for 1 run then? Any chance - 1 run = £10 ?? Does anyone else only want 1 (and therefore share the cost with me) ?

Why would I want to do 2 runs? - doing alterations between? Can I have 1 only - just to see if I get the same results I had from AmD? Don't want 2 - :( I will come anyway :D Anyone else coming from the Cardiff direction? Convoy? What time are folk arriving there?

Do the VR6 Corrados ever fail emissions tests in UK MOTs? My MOT is due and I keep getting nasty feelings - lol . Please ease my suspicion :D

Can anyone recommend HIGH QUALITY brands of plugs and HT leads that will be noticed as I lift my hood? I have no confidence in the ones that are fitted at the moment and am prepared to change the lot. Can you do this ASAP please - I will need to get them ordered and fitted. Cheers, David.

AmD claim : "..up to 14% improvement..." 191bhp * 114% = 217.7bhp ! :twisted: I suppose it is worth noting that we don't all start with the 191bhp in the 1st place though !

I am using standard RON95 unleaded at the moment - it says in the manual to use RON98 - What will this gain me? (other than bigger numbers on my fuel bills !!) LOL

All the advice I get from VW specialist garages is that the problem is going to be the leads and NOT the coil. How right are they? - I do not want to change the leads only to have to do the coil too ! - expensive ! They say that unless GOOD QUALITY leads were installed, the chances are it is still them that are causing the fault. Can I just change the 1 lead (nearest to me from the front of the engine bay, on the top - where does this damn lead go)? Is it a major job for someone who doesn't really know what he's doing or should I pay a professional? The car is not misfiring badly, in fact, it is perfoming VERY well (205+bhp), and the spark DOES go away when I spray a little WD40 on it - any help for you experts? Leads OR Coil? Thanks for your help.

Am I ok to leave this fix for a month or so? Does it really affect me whilst it is still relatively dry weather here? How long would it take to fit the part if I bought it myself and had a fitter fit it for me? (he is fairly experienced)

ok - cheers - it's the coilpack. It has been sparking for a few months now - can I leave it 'till next month to fix? What harm would this cause? Is there loss of performance? Only when wet? Thank you for all your help and advice once again. BTW, I cannot find it in eurocarparts - I get to the Corrado VR6 2.9 section, but cannot find "coilpack" - where is it please? (Just to lose my paranoia - it is the box that mounts onto the side of the engine (as I look from the front) which the HT leads plug into?)
