  1. Unfortunately i can't shell out for the VW ones, especially since one of them is on back order. I've just been and bought some rated for 400psi (!) That should do the trick. I took your advice and wobbled the hosed with ignition on, the first on i moved spirted a bit of fuel out, didn't bother with the others since they're getting changed anyway. What is the best way to disconnect the fuel hose clamps where the pipes attach to the ones which go back to the tank? I assume they're the originals. They are the type that have a hook that as you squeze together clips onto another hook. Hopefully that makes sense?

    mk6 golf

Can't say that the mk6 is anything nice at all, but the Passat CC is one of the best looking cars money can buy i think - in black. 8) Doesn't look as good online as in the flesh before you post a picture....
  3. Right, VW want £85+vat for all the hoses and clips - and one is on back order so likely to be a long time coming. Not ideal when you want to use the car. I'm searching for some hose near me, but what rating does it need to have - i have no idea about injection system pressures. Is (EDIT) 27 BAR ok? found some for cheap... A quick answer would be brilliant Cheers
  4. So standard 8mm is ok for all of them, so long as it's the better quality stuff. Where can you suggest i buy the better stuff, i presume kevin coopers/halfords etc wouldn't be best? Also, am i ok to reuse clips, if not, what ones can i buy?
  5. Thanks, i've just been out and looked under torch light. I flicked the ignition on until i heard the buzz, checked the U shaped on and the ones on the otherside for about 5 mins, then engine on and did the same. No immediate fuel leak to see... Would i be very likely to see it under those conditions if there was a leak? The pipes do look quite perished though, with a small visable split on the end of the U bend one (closer to the end than the clip) so i'll buy some fuel hose tomorrow, just 8mm fuel hose wouuld do it? The original smell when i checked did seem to be coming from the LHS of the head near those pipes. Why else would i be likely to smell fuel after putting my foot down (not high revs, just 2-3.5k in 2nd) when the engine was cold... i know, naughty naughty. Am i safe to drive it after checking the above? Cheers
  6. I've noticed today a strong petrol smell after booting up a hill, then parking up with my fan on. Would putting your foot down increase fuel pressure and thus likeliness to leak? Can anyone please show which lines it is so that i can check and not have a burnt car
  7. Suppose i could have figured that one... cheers.
  8. There isn't any easily visable oil to mention around the slave cylinder or master. Could anyone give me a quick run-through guide to bleeding the correct thing, i assume i'd bleed the slave?
  9. i thought i'd seen this as a common problem, but searching hasn't brought anything up.. My drivers side recaro has stopped working; The up/down motor works on the switch and moves the seat, but when you put your weight on it it falls back to the bottom. Get off and it comes back up. And you click the switch on the backrest and nothing happens - do they stick/get dirty or anything or will it be motor problems? The passenger seat works fine i think, so i assume it is not fuse related? cheers
  10. I'm paranoid since i refitted my supercharger (i've done 40 miles) - i fitted the oil lines to the holes that they both seemed to fall nearest. I can't find any pics to back me up/show me i'm wrong. The braided one from the righthand side of the head i have fitted to the furthest right and higher hole on the charger. The black rubber one i have fitted to the hole under and left on the charger. Am i right or wrong, put me out of my misery..
  11. I'll have a check for oil seepage when it's light and update the thread, thanks for the help so far.
  12. thats not good news! It's had a new slave cylinder and clutch in our less than 15000 mile ownership - but was fitted at a back street type place before i was old enough to appreciate it/do it myslelf. Is it possible it just needs the system bleeding, or anything else?
  13. The clutch biting point is low on my g60, is there adjustment, and if so how do it do it? Thanks a lot
  14. Brilliant, just the replies i was looking for! I've just been out and taken the charger off ... a bit more difficult than i was expecting, i'll definately be taking out the rad/slam panel to make things easier on refitting. I also noticed that it has a blue aluminium pulley, which measures about 71mm from outer edge to outer edge and about 66-67 on the ridges that the belt runs on. Both these being close to pullies available, so is this a 68mm or 72mm pulley? The car was RR'd at 164bhp, which would lead me to believe it's the 72mm, maybe without the correct chip? What would you suggest to do? I don't think i will go as far as the engine rehone/piston rings etc yet, but oil/water pump are good suggestions. How difficult is the pump to replace if i was to drive onto some ramps giving me enough space to lie underneath? Water pump shouldn't be too bad to replace with the current charger-off situation. Cheers
  15. My corrado has been used on and off for a couple of years, it's currently been sat for about 6 months only started occasionally. It's done 180,000 miles but has been well maintained service wise. As per my other topic i'll be upgrading the charger in the next few weeks, and then a 68mm chip and pulley in a month or two. With the exta power the engine will be putting out, what should i do to it before or in the near future. Is there much chance of it letting go with the mods? I will obviously give it a good service, but is there anything more substantial i should be looking at? Cheers for the help.
  16. Cheers for the extra replies, I'll be going for the stage 4 porting i think (£500 service  ) damn g60's can be expensive. Will i see negative results if i use the standard chip/pulley with a ported charger? I will be upgrading in the future, i'd rather just get used to it standard (or there abouts) and then add another batch of power.
  17. thanks a lot, just what i wanted to hear. I'll get it sent off then and decide what job i want done. It's an extra £115 for porting (which seems quite a lot to me?) and there doesn't seem to be an intermediate porting job. What BHP difference would a ported vs. standard charger give with a 68mm chip and pulley? On another note, what should i replace on the engine before tuning it, due to it's 180000mile life?
  18. Thanks, i think i will be going with g werks. Can anyone shed some light on the above though, Gwerks is closed until monday i think...
  19. Well, story so far is that the g60 has FVWSH, but no mention of any servicing on it's charger in it's 180,000 mile life. Naturally i want it done before i drive it and take the revs up. So if i may a couple of questions (which i thought may be in a FAQ, but i havn't been able to find one with a quick search)... - what is more highly recommended, Gwerks or Jabba (i get the impression it's GWerks) - If i was to get a standard rebuild, would this be ok with a 68mm pulley kit, or should i/will i need to get the upgraded rebuild and P&P? - Is there likely to be any detremental effects to the 180,000 mile engine with simple mods (68mm kit, and maybe a 4 branch/system) if still a road engine? - what sort of BHP/Torque/MPG should i expect with the above mods carried out? - How difficult is the rebuild for a mechanically minded person with correct tools, or is it a false economy? Thanks in advance for help... Rich 8)
  20. how many horses do you get with the sns chip, 68mm, and rsr outlet???
  21. Yeah, chip and pulley... i'm going to do this soon, should get 190bhp? What sort of power will porting the charger aswell give?
  22. I've got 3 and a half months before i can drive, won't be driving the G for a while though i wouldn't have thought, i'll move up from my 1.3 to my mk2 golf gti, then the corrado when the insurance is lower
