  1. first thing in the moring it takes a long time to start. Turn key -- engine kicks over ----- turn key again engine kicks over then 5 seconds pass she will start and idle normally and run fine. if I turn her off after she starts first thing in the morning or any time, I can turn the key and she will start first time and run ok. Wheres the the fuel pump ? please don't say its in the fuel tank
  2. Hello People Went to alton towers over the weekend, drove up saturday morning then to the B&B and all was fine. Sunday morning arrived and got in the car and started the car , no probs at all. But when I had to get off the boat to get back onto the IOW on sunday evening she really didnt want to start I had to turn her over while pumping the accelrater pedal, finally she then kicks into life, lumby at first but then settles down and idles normally, runs ok to. but ever since then every time she been left for more then an hour i have to start her like that. The Fuel pump primes away. The starter motor turns over ok All mormal dash lights are on. I've searched though the forum and I'm confused on what path I should take? New fuel pump? New injectors? New switch? sensors? She's done 145,000 miles, 1990 1.8 16v Could you point me in the right direction please? Thanks Twiss

    damaged Springs?

    Well after getting the springs finally had them fitted on the her on friday and what a differance its made. Only one prob she seems to rub really bad when on full lock and rub when her back end bottoms out when going over big bumps plus when medium to hard corning she cuts the rubber off the edge of the outer side of the tyre!!!! I've read that other corrado owners have same set up but have no problems with the wheels rubbing So is something wrong with suspension still or should I just get 16" alloys? She got 205/40/R17 don't know what offset tho Any help would be most welcome Thanks Twiss
  4. I've searched though the forum to find as much info on swaping the 1.8 block withe the 2.0l block ( 9A). but I thought I would ask u lot to send me any other info on doing the job that would help me? Thanks Twiss

  6. Just asking any one if there is a set of normal steels to fit the valver as i need to remove my 17" alloys for refurbing? Or does any one have a cheap set of 15" alloys ? I found a set of 15" but they have an offset of 38, they look like they would take 195/55 tyres Would they fit? Thanks Twiss

    oh Right so how high does the v6 rev then ? Does anyone know what the max speed you would get from a standerd box with lets say a supercharged or turbo valver? Would a sports clutch benfit the valver ? if so what do you recommend?

    Well I got thinking which can be bad for me will a vr6 gearbox fit a 1.8 16v engine ? if so what would be needed to fit it ? Except a v6 engine I know a standard valver would have no benefit whith the v6 gearbox fitted but would it a make a differnace if the valver has turbo fitted? I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, I'm still searching through search results. Thanks

    hmmm coilovers.......... I wish, moneys abit tight at the mo as she needs new cambelt and tensioners aswell. so looks like for the time being i'll have to get GSf springs on her. Unless any ones got a second hand set going ? no !? thought not. Thanks for the help

  11. Well My car from the back or front looks lovely but from the side she looks like she going up hill, Back of the car is low while the front of the car is high. The Previos owner put a Tow bar on her ( which i need to remove ) and by the looks of it what ever he was towing its nackerd ( very technical term ) the rear springs. i've measerd the front and they seem to be the right height but the the rear are about 30mm lower then what she should be ( lower then standerd ride height). So Ive looked at the lowering springs from GSF and would like to know if I can fit these with my standerd shocks ? Do you think other parts would need replacing due to the last owners wisdom ? she is a 1990 1.8 16v with 205/40/R17 She got 205/40/R17 Don't know what offset they are but there seems to be rubbing when i go over bumps, is there any way i can check that they are ment for a Corrado? Any help would be greatfull Thanks Twiss
  12. Well I replaced the dizzy cap and rotor arm and it seems alot better but don't know about her top end ? The garage said the second silencer has a hole in it and the first silencer (from the manifold) also seems that it might not last much longer :cry: But I still love this motor :lol: Thanks for your help
  13. I found a hole well it sounds like an hole in my middle box, I only heard it really cos the girl friend had the passanger door open when the engine was running. ( have my music up loud ) Looks like the dizzy cap and rotor arm have been replaced recently (Halfords own make), Sparks was done when she was serviced and i can only hear the fuel pump when u turn her ignition on and once engine running cant hear it.

Hello Right heres the prob, basicly my 1.8 16v goes up though the gears fine but I found out recently that she's fine getting to 85mph in 3rd I then change into 4th and floor it but it then stuggles to get past 95mph and I mean not really go any further possible pushing it to 97mph she's done 140,00- miles,1990 mk1 corrado I had her serviced about 800 miles ago in her MOT they said she was running rich she's got a KN panel filter Any ideas on where to start first ?     Fuel smell

    ah this sounds abit like my prob. I've got the Kr engine and need to replace the plastic/rubber pipes going from the inj unit (sits on top of the air box - sorry if i got that wrong ) to the metal pipes that run to the injectors. when I Went to VAg on the IOW they want £37 for each pipe, does any one know where I could get these pipes from ? even if there uprated ones or am I going to have to bite the bullet and buy from VAG? thanks Twiss

    Now Ive been thinking (thats scary for me, normaly means Im about to look a foul or spend a lot of money) I own a 1.8 16v and the power is nice once you get the her going. I know more bhp = more torque but that also mean more fuel. so is it possible to increase her torque with out shoting her bhp through the roof !!?

    Door / Panel ?

    Well went to work on wenesday didnt have a great day, one of those days where you do lots of running around but get nothing done. The day ends with me going to my car to find same ******* dent my door in and drove off leaving no details what so ever. so my qestion is is it possible to replace the door skin or is it a case of replacing the door? I say this cos Ive been quoted nearly £300 for repairs. the Damage has mostly been done on the lower part of the door but has slightly pushed the middle in. Most of the dent is nearer the front wing (Offside). Any help would be great. ( Ive only had this car 2 months and she been hit twice this time and once in tesco's carpark maybe I wasn't ment to have her) Sorry about the ranting and raving.

I just found some new HT leads and sparkplugs for my 1.8 16v but their made by a company called Beru, I have nerver heard of them, so i did a quick search ( and I mean a really quick search) and found not alot so I asking if any one of you have used them and tell me if there any good? Ah on a another note Can someone point me in the right direction (supplier) for a set of Briaded fuel hoses as well PLZ? Thanks Twiss

    Have you checked the Relay (I think it has one ? might be talking rubbish) if it does have one then it might have gone faulty? where it is tho I havent a clue HTH

    Opinions Plz

    Alright u lot heres my prob I want to go down a size in wheel (currently have 205/40/17 offset ? but they rub) to 16" and I have found a nice set of alloys (after looking at loads) so I wanted your opinion on them? Do you think there suit my 16v Rado Sorry to the mods if I have put this into the wrong section , didn't really know where to put it. Thanks Twiss
