  1. really no one have had a similar problem with their intake? I just know two cars with the VGI (mine included) and both have similar problems (the other guy got tired of it and sold it) and i dont give up
  2. Hi all once more It seems like i mostly post my problems instead of nicer things but my car is driving me crazy. This has been going on for ages and i don´t know why. and now i could confirm that is not only my gut feeling. The problem is that the car dies at 4000 rpms like every schricked V but it never recovers back. At first it looked pretty clear that it was a problem with the intake, I checked the operation of the flap and it does switch to open at 4000 rpm and visually stays there, opened until reved down again. i scan the car (vagcom) and there is no codes, the car otherwise runs fine and smooth. mods on the car are the usual 268º and intake from Schrik, mk4 HG, 2.5 inch straight through exhaust and a chip burned by stealth for these mods. (the car was not rolling roaded to make the chip). I am runing out of ideas and since so many of you have similar mods, you have tons of more experience than me or anyone here in Spain. Best regards from Madrid Julio
  3. have you done it your self? i assume you dont because when you remove the "plastic"thingy is glued to the LCD crystal and when ungluing it becomes uselsss. i have done it many times and i recomend to get it from DDI or elsewhere. I run a few years ago a group by for the cirradi club in spain and Anh told me that if i came up with enough people he would run an 8000rpm set, but enough numbers to make it cost effective for him maybe over 20 or 25. and then the time to prototype, QA and all people may have long gone and forgotten about it. BR
  4. Hi guys. The other day while talking to a friend he told me that the values he saw on vag-com in the engine load block were a little low like 80% but and then the other day on vortex i saw a graph where load maxed out at about 3500 rpm at 160% and so then i check an old log i got with vag com where i maxed out at about the same revs at 55%. Now i am so confused. which is the correct value? where does this value come from and therefore what to look into to fix whoever is throwing the wrong calculation. Thanks in advance for any answers to what i know will be a difficult question. Cheers from Spain
  5. I had the same problem and, as i remember from a long time ago, there is two different TB. the one with two switches like KR engines and the pot style. i assume that they use also different style ecus. the bottom line is that you dont need to buy the full TB at the dealer, just the potentiometer, replace and enjoy, and out of the top of my head, it was like 60 euros part.
  6. i think that RX2 off a Mk3 are 7 inch wide and off a Mk4 are 6.5 inches.
  7. on the second picture i see a nice graph of flywheel power passing well off the 200hp mark, which correlates qutie well with around 170 wheels hp. I see no problem?
  8. Hi once more I am sorry to be a pain in the... i went to the dealer with vacum tank in hand and the information you guys gave me. They were unable to locate a part remotely similar to it. Anyone with ETKA or ETOS could post the part number for my useless VW technicians? Thanks a lot once more.
  9. Thanks a millio guys. I wasnt even sure it was a VW part. great news. Cheers
  10. Hi all My schrick manifold stopped opening and i traced it down to a faulty vacum reservoir. (the black round thingy) I have re-routed the vacum lines directly from the brakes servo to the manifold valve and it opens now. I have vacum tank here and it does not have a part number, any idea from where to source it or how to find another one? Thanks in advance Julio

    Vacom Codes

Hi all last week i scan the car for codes as i am in the middle of fixing some problems and it threw me these errors: 00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) 30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent 00281 - Vehicle speed sensor (G68) 27-00 - 00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28) 03-00 - No Signal I changed the cam pos. sensor for a brand new one, i cleaned the conectors with connector cleaner, also the big engine conector close to it, i drove the car for a while and the same 3 errors showed. (of course i cleaned the codes after first read) can anyone help with their experience on this? where else to look? thanks in advance
  12. ahh ok, sorry i misunderstood
  13. i used to have a similar set up on my old 16v. i sourced the calipers from a friend. I was told they were off the rear of a 944 Turbo. They are 4 pot brembos that have a similar attaching pattern to VW cars. With this i mean that the caliper had the bolting similar to the carriers of a VW, therefore not utlizing the usual brembo adapters. I dont know if i explained my self well enough... similar to this: instead of this:http://imgs.segundamano.es/images/418/41843890121.jpg Pictures are not from my actual set up, i got them off the internet but i think makes the point. this was the end result: Then i only needed to offset the right amount the caliper with a washer and i milled down a G60 breake from 280 to 270mm very simple set up, great breaking power, very very light set up. Only recomendation is to get quality discs because they will get hoooot. (my set up would warp discs but not fade) Voila
  14. I have the same front set up. 312s with steel braided lines and i just removed the ABS, and used a AudiA3 master cilinder. I have so much power that i could lock at any speed my car is able to go, but also feel enough to not do it. I still need to find a panick situation, but in yet have to test it in wet roads, where could be hairy.
  15. did you go for the black one mate? or one of the others? I got the brushed aluminum one. It comes with the logo you see in the pictures not a corrado siluete or anything like that. I think that the idea is that you can custom make a sticker with whatever you like on top of that. One recomendation that i have to make is to buy the shortest possible Momo hub. I used to have a millenium steering wheel and i had no problems in reaching the signal knobs while holding the wheel and now this wheel has some offset and i need to let the wheel go to move the turn signals. besides the wheel, i think i got most of the DDI parts catalogue and i am quite happy with all items.
  16. I got it and all i can say is, for me, it was well worth the wait. I am now divided as i have now a rarity and i am putting the word out, but given the quality and success of all DDI products i guess it will be a common view in Corrados next year. cheers
  17. Hi guys I have the following problem The gas cable pops out of the pedal when acting quicky and hard on the pedal. The rubber insert from the pedal and the hook from the cable looks ok and seems to fit tight and firm. As a license saver is not such a bad problem but is a real pain in the .. to stop in the middle of nowhere with absolutly no power, remove the lower consoles and re-attach the cable in place. It started to happen a few months ago and it has happen like 5 times since. Any ideas on why is this happening, fixes? thanks in advance
  18. VW did put a 2.0 16v in golfs and jettas. Not in the UK, but US cars did get a 9A engine from 90 to 92, which was the end of the MK2 life in the states. Nevertheless, of course this is not one of them, and there were plenty more than 7. but pleeenty.
  19. keep on fighting for that car. no one will care for it as much as you do. saludos Julio
  20. 9A do not use exactly a KE-Jet as the PL. The set up is similar but the control unit is Motronic. And yes, it can be chipped.
  21. thanks for the info. I posted a similar question in Vortex but i think is safer to go and ask directly to the source. Thanks again
  22. uuupppss, my bad is not a V1 but a small V9, what was i thinking... i wish.... sorry. No, in VF site they have no pulley size charts, but as they state stage 1 is 6 PSI, stage 2 is 8 PSI, and 3 is 9.5I but i am not sure if that is an accurate number for stage 3 or not with all the plumbing and intercooler head losses in the way. Would that be at the compressor exit or at the intakes entrance? Watter injection may be another option too, i will have to look into that instead of intercooling.
  23. Hi all. i have a 94 with a pretty standard tune for a normally aspirated engine. Schrick manifold, 268
  24. Hi there man. Nice to see you are here now. Arnau seems to be an honest Corrado fan who got screwed by a not so honest seller. The fact that he has spent more many on rebuilding is KR engine than is taking me to schriked and supercharge my VR speaks tons about his love for the car. keep it up and never sell it. Regards
