Nah the throttle body is fine as it positions itself when you turn the ignition on as it's supposed to, but it faffs about for a while which is obviously because it's not detecting the pedal for the position etc. But yeah on a plus note the the pedal sure does look nice 8)

Well sorted the exhaust out, Pete from Dubpower turned up at 8:30 this morning with all his kit including 2 facking great gas bottles and his blow torch and then we set to adjusting the downpipes! They didn't want to budge much even when heated, so only managed to move them over/down slightly. So we grinded off some of the flanges (flanges hehe!) and then cut down the decat further and when all on properly the exhaust is much more central! I'm very pleased with Pete's help, the guy's a legend :notworthy: Also got the proper R32 pedal (cheers swiftkid!) but as suspected really it made no difference whatsoever :( :brickwall: Car's starting fine and running ok, but can't rev the sodding thing! So dunno what to do now, everything looks correct so we might have to try and get it to Stealth :( Hopefully it's something simple that Vince can assist over the phone with!

Sorry weren't ignoring you, I thought I would show you! I've attached couple of pics of my old pump, the first showing roughly how you will see it sitting in the tank when you remove the lid except the top bit will be screwed in place with a big plastic lid. You'll need to remove the fuel lines, best to do after the car has been off for a while so the fuel pressure has dropped else it will piss out! Remove the 2 fuel lines, undo the black plastic screw on lid (may need assistance from a screwdriver and a hammer to knock it round to begin with as it'll most likely be tight), then you'll see the pump sitting in the fuel tank (and the fuel so best to do it with an empty ish tank not just after filling up :eek:). As you can see in the second pic the sender just clips off so you won't need to remove the tank, just get your hand in and unclip it, then clip on a new one. Job's a good 'un 8)

I doubt it's a problem with the gauge, it will be the sender in the tank that's dodgy. Not too bad a job to replace, take the carpet out the boot, undo the 3 screws and remove the fuel pump lid and you will see the fuel pump. The sender's can be replaced and shouldn't cost too much either. It's the big arm that goes up and down you need to replace :)

Yeah it can be done by eye really, just needs something to hold the clutch up inside the pressure plate so you can get the box on as you say. Me and Kev once used a roll of insulation tape that was a perfect fit in the hole :lol:

If you are doing the water pump then you will be draining the water so might as well remove the rad and then you can remove the crossmember and rad support and you can walk the engine out a piece of piss! Just remove anything connecting the engine to the car, electrics, driveshafts, exhaust downpipes, gear linkages, rad pipes etc. Support the engine with the crane, undo the mounts, remove the crossmember etc at the front then wheel the engine out. You could then do pretty much everything with the engine in the air. Take gearbox off, change the clutch (you'll need some form of alignment tool), change water pump etc. It would also be a lot cheaper to just rent a crane rather than buy it and have it sitting there until the next time the engine comes out (if ever). Mine cost about £30 for the whole weekend IIRC from HSS.

Hmm that is strange how yours worked with a different pedal :scratch: We have tried a diesel pedal (1k2721503M) and an S3 pedal (can't remember the part number, think it was same but with J on the end) and neither of them worked. We checked all 6 pedal wires back to the ecu plug and all checked out ok so it HAS to be the pedal causing the problem. Yeah I'll move the FPR at some point, got plenty of time off after tomorrow so will be one of my 'to do' jobs :lol: Cheers for the offer on the cats, i'll pass at the min though, sod the environment :lol:

Oh dear, sounds similar to the problems Karl had with his install and Dubpower manifold not sealing, took 4 sets to get a proper seal and even that needed chopping about to fit. The problem with the alignment is that Pete has made them for Mk2 golfs as they fit perfectly on them, he then just assumes they'll fit perfectly on corrados when they clearly don't :nono:

Ben how did the Dubpower manifold and exhaust fit up on this car? My downpipe is touching the tunnel wall underneath and pushing the whole exhaust against the side when fitted :(

Here are a few pics after the loom tidying on saturday 8) and thought might as well put a couple of how the downpipes sit as well for you all to see. I have sent them to Pete to Dubpower so he can see what he needs to do.

It's still an ongoing saga mate! I ordered the pedal after you got me the part number, turned up friday to collect and it was the wrong one, just the plain 6 speed manual one not the pretty R32 epecific one :brickwall: So I told them it's wrong and got my money back. Rang Kev told him, he then got on the phone to his mate who said the R32 has it's own specific pedal 1 for DSG and 1 for manual and gave me the part number I needed again. Rang VW back and said it's this one I need, but it's on back order so can't get one for a week or so! :censored: Kev's mate then kindly let us borrow an S3 pedal thinking it might work, but it didnt! So we got the wiring diagrams out sat morning and traced all the wiring to check it wasn't that ... it wasn't, never doubted Vince for a second :lol: So it HAS to be an R32 pedal only it seems, so will order one and it will arrive when it arrives I guess :( That will be the last stage then though, we have installed all the wiring neatly in the bay (using lots of left over corregated plastic tubing from the car loom so keep it looking very OEM 8) ) so just need to bolt the pedal in and splice in a few interior wires when I get the pedal and it should be done. Well I say it will be done, I'm still not happy with the downpipes, so I think they'll be coming off. They aren't right for the corrado, they sit too far to one side and so the whole exhaust now sits against the tunnel wall underneath :brickwall: not ideal really. So gotta send pics to Pete at Dubpower and show him that he can't just assume Mk2 Golf downpipes will align the same in a corrado because they clearly don't and hopefully he'll get them sorted for me ASAP!! EDIT: Beaten to it by Kev :lol:

Lol good man! Nah the mk5 R32 is 250bhp standard but with the downpipes and remap etc it's between 270-280 ish. Got the loom all installed neatly this weekend, I'll upload pics tomorrow as can't be bothered now :lol: But it's looking like we never touched it which is what I wanted 8)

Ordered the last few bits I need today including a new R32 pedal (thanks Pete for the part number! :notworthy:) Should be in on friday so hopefully saturday morning we plug it in and it all works and we can just worry about the tidying of the loom etc ... and the fcuking downpipes/exhaust alignment :censored: I might make Edition 38 after all! :cheers:
