Yeah it sure does work, tried as i left work, but the number jumps all over the place dependant on the current engine load.
-
Yeah the trip meter seems to be working fine. Infact the whole MFA works fine, its just the MPG that seems odd. Is there anything somebody could have done to the car to confuse the ECU?
-
I think the MFA is showing about double of the actual MPG anybody had this problem before?
-
Thanks very much. Is it identical or different to the standard 2.0l 16v manifold?
-
Will a 1.8 KR Golf Inlet manifold fit a 2.0l 16v Corrado?
-
I'm not sure if this is an exterior post or engine bay so i apologise if its in the wrong place. Anyway... I have a 2.0l 16v Corrado 92. I currently have a standard exhaust system. I would like to get a new back box which sound nicer than my current system. Any recommendations on what would fit the standard exhaust setup as I don't have a load of money to spend. Thanks

Ok cheers guys.

Cool cheers dude for the quick response. Any ideas where the cheapest place to get one from is?

I would love to get myself a removable steering wheel as can be found on the awesome GTI website. What parts do I need to fit one of these systems. Do i just need the removable boss and a steering wheel, or do i need a boss kit aswell. I don't want to order something I don't need, or place a order and find out i'm missing something. Has anybody had any experience with these kits? What are they like?

You could try that, or use petrol. But as someone said earlier if its seized then maybe you require a new one. I'm quite new to this corrado lark so i haven't really experienced one breaking before. But hopefully you can get things sorted.

The ISV is sat on the right hand side of the engine bay as you look at it (in the picture above) Where the ignition leads go into the plastic hold/cover thing, its just behind that, it should be a cylinder shape with a wire going into the back and a black pipe connected to the front. Hope that helps guys.

Yeah my engine kept reving to 1500 then down to 500 when the engine was idle. But now the idle is steady as a rock.

Yeah mate, thats what i cleaned mine with. I just filled the thing up several times, pouring it out every time until the carb cleaner came out pretty much clean.

Yeah the MFA is weird, because at the begining of my drive its a very low number, and the number just keeps creeping upwards until it reaches a number around 60. Does anyone know whether this a problem with vacuum pipes? or is it electrical. I have had a look around the 2 vacuum pipes that come from the throttle body, and there is one that goes behind the heat shield behind the exhaust manifold, but that looks ok to. I wouldn't mind if the MFA was a bit optimistic but 60-70mpg would be daydreaming!

I have read of people getting between 35-40ish on long drives, but averaging in the 30s most of the time. The best i have ever done is 30mpg.
-
Right I have been looking around the forum for some time now and haven't found the answer i have been looking for. When I drive my 2.0l 16v around the MFA MPG reading gradually creeps to around 60-70MPG then stops. I don't know why? Also my car seems to be doing about 26mpg round town and 30 on motorway, i think this is a bit low. Are the 2 connected at all, or are they completely seperate problems? Thanks

I have heard a lot of people mentioning how great these uprated looms are, but i can't find anywhere describing how to fit them. Are they really that easy? If so can some one please explain the process. I'd like to buy one but want to be sure I can fit it myself without parting with my hard earned! Also, how much of a benefit does it really make? Is it really that much better?

Right.... I went through a rather large puddle in the road today. The Corrado kept on running so i thought i was alright. Anyway came back to the car 20 mins later and she wouldn't start. So i had a look around my engine bay to see where the water had gotten to. I took of the dizzy cap off and there was water inside there. So i put some WD40 over the inside and cleared all the water out. Yay she started....... but only if my foot is on the throttle. Any ideas what has happened? Anyone else had similar experiences in the storms this week?

That was good you reckonised it was a valver because when that photo was taken pikey had stolen my 16v badge. Thanks for the very quick response. Will that passat manual cover the breaks on a 1993 2.0l 16v?

I would like to work on my brakes and remove the cold start from my C this weekend. What haynes manuals do I need to cover these jobs? Also do i need a replacement gasket when I put my 5th injector back on? Thanks for your helps peeps.

Right I have had the temp sender changed, it was faulty as it was tested after removal. But the above problem is still present. Anyone experiencing the same thing with their rado?

I have recently bought a Corrado and I am having problems starting it in this hot summer weather we have been having. The car starts fine if she is cold, or if I have already warmed it up and have only had the engine off for 10-15 mins. The problem is when the engine has been sat off for 45 mins to an hour. Thats when it doesn't start. It will start if i give it a bit of throttle but as soon as i put the pedal back to idle the engine cuts out. If i don't apply any throttle the engine just doesn't start (the starter motor is turning, and i can hear the fuel pump when i turn on the ignition, and I have also recently changed the plugs, but the problem was there before then). Any ideas of help would be great! p.s I'm new to corrados and I don't have a manual yet so any help via pictures or explanation would be great to.
