OK, don't quote me on this as it was about 3 years ago. I used to work at a Honda dealership which was twinned with a Seat dealership. I got on pretty well with him and was offered cupra brembo calipers (just the calipers) for £60 each!!!!! Its time for me to do mine now so if there's any group buyers out there then let me know. I'm sure that it would sway him. That's A: If he's still there B: He's prepared to help a mate out still.

Thats great news!! The interior should look ssshaweet! Recaro SR's with sparco harnesses, Momo gear knob and momo corse steering wheel and sparco carbon fibre pedals. Will post piccies up asap.
-
Ahh.. cool. Have you fitted it? did it fit over both splines??? I can mop the beads of sweat up now...
-
ummmm thanks?....

momo part number 8014. Which to my understanding was the later one.
-
Have done that... Question is, will that be a solved problem with the momo one?

Anyone had any probs with the aftermarket steering wheel bosses...? I have a lovely MOMO corse steering wheel waiting to go on and originally bought a mountney hub (Hellfrauds had one in stock). The odd thing was that although it was for a late (after 89) C it was about a half inch too small. It looks like there's some sort of adapter on the steering column. Is this normal??? I did some hunting with the good ol search button, here and on vortex and the only thing I could find was someone saying that the momo original one is a straight fit and that the mountney one was not. I've taken the mountney one back and ordered up a momo one.. Am I right in thinking that I won't have to use a pulley to drag the spacer off the column with this boss? I didn't want to do that really, just incase something went wrong and I'm stuffed. Any help on this would be appreciated.. Might be worth making a wiki out of it after as I'm sure others would have had this prob... P

Yeah I use the plates on the road... eek. Although to be fair it's been a while now and have been in front of police cars quite a bit, no stoppage so far. I think the local cops (touch wood) have better things to do. I keep meaning to take a pic of the seats.. will do it tomorrow. You can just see them on the first pic. -

NiceI've spent circa £1600 so far and that includes the car. Spec so far is: 1990 G plate 1.8 16 valve Corrado with 120k on the clock - £900 16 x 7.5" ACT (Ronal) SX's 2 piece split rims with 215/40R16 yoko's - £285 :) Cheapo ebay coilovers - £280 3 bar grille with eyebrow (not yet fitted) - £14 Recaro SR seats with trim almost OEM - £200 :) Recaro electric subframes - swapped for a scabby set of sebrings Momo Corse steering wheel - £16 :) Momo gearknob - already had Alpine HU - already had Focal 6x9's (someone had already butchered the shelf) - already had Dubmeister plates - £40 The idea is to have the car finished (as a personal project) for under 3k. I'd like to get a mag feature to show what you can acheive on a budget but who knows. Please let me know what you think guys. -
I'm very happy with the cheapo ebay suspension. £280 seems to buy some pretty good kit really. I'm very happy

Ok. Have JUST done this.. I bought Recaro SR's from an EVO 6 and found some golf electric subframes for them. Yes they fit but I think that your height may give you problems. I'm 5'8 and fit nicely, better driving position and much more comfortable. You're best bet would be to put them in and check. Then if you need to, chop the extension arms right down and weld them in place so they are non height adjustable but I reckon you could drop them another 2 inches once played with. Because the passenger ones are so important, they'll be fine so leave em as they are. Anyway....................... PICS!!!!!!!!!! (He says when he's not posted pics of his own recaro's in situ)
-
yeah. I've got to get one out later so I'll take a pic then. They aren't very pretty so I'll clean them up and repaint them but you'll get the idea.
-
Yeah thanks for that. The whole idea for doing this C was to be on a budget yet still get a relatively exciting car, which pretty much renders ITB's out of budget. Whilst I'm sure they are far more effecient, carbs need no management which saves you a good few hundred even using 'squirt. Surely the butterfly angle is relative to the manifold setup?
-
Just wondered if anyone's explored using R1 carbs with a bogg bros manifold. I'm quite tempted to go this way, with a decent set of cams and some head work. 200bhp? I don't fancy a turbo or supercharger. I like high revving Na's.
-
I'm not sure... They sit a bit higher than the C's old seats did but not uncomfortably so. I'm a short arse (Richard Hammond sized) so I haven't really got any concerns there. The motors are shagged but I'm gonna hunt for some new ones and then wire it all up.

Well, after mucho's tracking, begging and jousting I have managed to get hold of a set of recaro electric subframes for my Recaro SR's. I left after work last night for a 3.5 hour round trip to pick them up!! They area little dusty and need a good clean up but it's all there. I'll finally get to fit my lovely evo 6 recaros tonight. wooohooo.. Definitely a needle in a haystack though and wouldn't do it again.
-
i'd be in for a group buy if others were interested.
-
Just to let everyone that has been wondering about them. I've just ordered a set of the ebay coilovers (the one's that look like the Jamex, PI etc etc). I'm pretty sure that after studying the pics, that all jamex etc have done is rebrand them.. Paid £300 delivered so will report on how good they are. BTW, I know you get what you pay for but hey... I'm skint!!
-
Here's the bottom of recaro's showing the bolt configuration.
-
Ah, ok... I'll post a pic up later
-
reaper.. I'll have a look tomorrow and post a piccy up.. If they are the same and will definitely fit then I'll give you a fair price for them!! (can you do a measurement of the hole positions ((distance side to side and front to back)) and I'll do the same)
-
I've just bought some SR's and the answer is no. Recaro don't supply for the C anymore. You'd have to find either a set of frames from existing recaro C seats, a set off a scirocco or have them welded on which is what I'm now doing. Good luck as i've hunted the tinterweb and have had no joy. They are going in though, even if I have to use a combination of stikaflex, araldite and spit!
-
I saw these on the bay aswell... was gonna ask the same question but about a valver....?
-
I'll look into the rado recaro frames from that place.. cheers BTJ. As I've got the rears, I'm going to see how much it'll be to get the rado rear seats retrimmed using the evo cloth (and whatever else to cover them). I reckon it'd look great having a matching front and rear set. It's gotta be better than having a torn valver set
-
anyone know how to get them in?? LOL
