Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive November 05]
AmbisoniK replied to Dub_nut_g60's topic in General Car Chat
I was on the M5 Northbound Sund afternoon 3.45-4.30pmish,heading from St.Austell to Newport - saw a nice C in your colour heading South in the outside lane  -
By the way the part number for a 12v VR6 engine is - 187481
-
Well if you mean by 'Corrado ones' the 12v VR6 engines then yes i have, but i'm sure he can get them for other engines too. as far as pricing goes i got mine for £240 all in,but you'll have to speak to Jay about that mate...
-
Then email him direct
-
Anyone looking to source one of these head over to http://www.gripforce.com or speak to Jay @ mailto:[email protected] - can't recommend them highly enough..first class service in every respect & low prices

Need Name of Place selling German Style Plates at inters???
AmbisoniK replied to rado-steve's topic in Suppliers Forum
I ordered mine from Dubmeister via email (mailto:[email protected]) just after Inters..the service was first class - took 2 days from my first email to the plates ariving @ my door & the quality of the plates were spot on too. i heard all the negative comments about having to wait 5 weeks etc but it really does seem to be a thing of the past... can't recommend them highly enough. -
To be as little more specific you will probably find it a good idea to replace the following all @ the same time - Rear Beam Bushes Topmounts + Bearings Wishbones + Ball Joints ARB Bushes/Track Rod Ends/Drop Links then @ least you know all your suspension is the same age & will therefore hopefully wear @ a similar rate. all this will set you back in the region of £250 for OEM standard components (try Euro Car Parts - the rear beam nut & bolt kit is main dealer only i think) & actually a little bit less if you go for uprated Powerflex polyutherane bushes for example, but judging from what has been said earlier i'd prob advise against this as the ride will be a lot harsher than standard. then as Chris said get your camber & tracking set up with a quality garage that has laser alignment equipment - should cost you around £35 certainly no more than £50 to do this
-
Don't forget to change all your bushes/top mounts while your @ it too
-
Try a combo of Bilstein or Koni top adjustable shocks with Eibach or H&R springs...

AmbisoniK replied to AmbisoniK's topic in Drivetrain
"You're getting ABS fault codes and you never get the ABS light on?" Yes "Does it come on during the power-on-self-test cycle when you turn the ignition on?" No You think the previous owner disabled the ABS light after finding out the cost of an ABS Pump ? -

That's the problem, the ABS light isn't coming on @ all - totally agree there's no way i'd buy new...you'd have to be nuts..over 10 times cheaper to buy second hand ! -

Arrgh now i don't know what to do - i could take a chance & just buy the dam thing (& get it fitted a lot cheaper by my mate, who's a very good mechanic - prepares rally cars),or take it to my VAG mechanic although not through VW is still expensive (it's catching) but shit hot with all things VAG & would certainly get to the bottom of things, but would cost a lot more if it turns out to be the pump - flip a coin time :brickwall: -

Various breakers will sell you pump for around the £100 mark, but as I said a guarantee is all very well but if you pay a mechanic £200+ to fit it and it is buggered you won't be best pleased! I think i'll get my VAG mechanic to have a look before i buy anything,a mate of mine who's more of a peugeot specialist diagnosed the problem in the first place - thanks for the info dude -

That would be telling seeing as they only got one used one left  -
I have a problem with the brake peddle pressure changing intermittently while driving. basically under braking the peddle will change from being hard to press to very light. i've checked it on VAG COM,sometimes it shows up other times not but the problem is there pretty much all the time. i'm leaning towards replacing the ABS Pump - £1100 + from VAG !,but i can get a used one with a 2 month guarantee for £100 all in. anyone have any ideas ?
-
Cheers dude will do...thanks a lot for that
-
Can you tell me where your mates getting/got the Fidanza flywheel from & how much it cost ? - i'm looking @ a couple on US eBay @ the mo around the £240 mark incl shipping but excluding customs duty - seems a bit steep to me... :thumb right:
