I still reckon as a bonnet stay handle grip it is bloody lousy!
-
well that my numpty question for today out the way.
-
The spark plug remover?....is that the bit of plastic that keeps falling off my bonnet stay that i've assumed is just a badly fitted hand grip !!!!!!!!??
-
VW in swindon quoted £197 inc vat. :( hence the empty wallet :?
-
well its official the pumps seized :( still its being sorted this week  And now my bank accounts empty :( But i'll have the Corrado back
-
Having stripped a rack myself, I'd be highly surprised if a rack ever got bone dry  always seems to be some grease/fluid it in even if it's just an annular coating.[/quote:2pcjbs8p] The only coating on my annular is soft downy fluff  is that normal?
-
i think its absolutely without a doubt 100% guaranteed "fubar'd?" lol...ho hum another expense winging its happy way to me .lol
-
Would have done but the heavens decided to dump its more than ample load of rain on my house all at once. I'll have to look tommorrow. Thanks for the help anyway. :salute: Keep you posted.

it's gotta be something broken..as i said when you turn the steering wheel it sounds like something is sucking/pumping oooer lol but not actually assisting the steering.almost as if in some way its become disconnected from the steering rack and isnt providing the necessary power.
-
How would that result in no power steering?...the belt (and im assuming its the right one I checked) its about 2-3cm wide and grooved seemed taught.
-
Cheers mate i'll bear it in mind. Got a local vw guy having a look at it first. But you're right it sounded mechanical as if something fairly solid had snapped.
-
oh poo :brickwall:
-
Well the fluid looks ok... and if im looking at the right belts etc they all look ok too. There's no bits of belt over the drive way either. The other thing ive noticed is that when I try to turn the wheel with the engine running there's a sort of sucking sound (highly technical I know) from the steering column as if somethings trying to work but just isnt managing it. :cuckoo:
-
cheers...mines a 94 (m) so im assuming that means a late one.
-
Not yet just got in...it was the almighty clunk that worries me. :( Being a numoty any pics as to where the pump is would be greatly appreciated.
-
Pulled up on the drive way from work all ok. Then decided to reverse up the driveway, turned the wheel there was an almighty clunk and suddenyl NO power steeering at all !! Feels like i'm driving a tank. Any ideas?

I went the other way...oooer :camp: Had a 300zx tt before i got the Vr6..Its nice to have fast car that doesnt drink the fuel quicker than I can pour it in yet will still see off most the other stuff on the roads. I think it was the £3500 gearbox and £800 turbos that finally pushed me to getting shot of the Nissan tho.

MK3 VR6? - Mrs B has bought one!!!! Pics page 4

depends if your playing top trumps or not. Then that 10bhp makes ALL the diffrence  -
Nissan 300zx tt...recon gearbox £3500 then £1500 when that one blew too.. Refurb turbos £1100. Biggest bill was keeping the 15-20mpg going!!!. lol
-
and then be a man and get the Vr6..you know it makes sense..lol
-
I suffer with that a bit too..the passenger sides works but only just. The drivers demists a hellva lot quicker than the passenger side does. Like you I had the heater matrix changed.Mind you prior to that none of it worked so i think of it as an improvement lol
-
Usual thing. The resistor on the motor behind the passenger side parcle shelf....it happens to us all its a probably a factory option that vw forgot to tell us about lol. Its a 5 minute job to fix which is just as well as you'll be doing it alot. In fact they should make it part of the annual service and be done with it. You'll find loads of threads on here about this.
-
Good man...you know it makes sense. Mind you now you'll be querying heater controls, active spoilers, engine temperatures and sunroof mechanisms. :D But its worth it...
-
Around town and driving like a granny I get 28-30. Long journeys my Vr6 will hit 35mpg no prob... At the mo from £50 of fuel at £1.31 a litre im avergaing 310 to 320miles to and from work a month. Not bad really... Mind you floor it and the figures drop quicker than Jordans knickers!!!..lol
-
good luch cos it will look like this part way through !!!!! lolcar pics corrado 016.jpg[/attachment:1lcojhhc]
