  1. I don't think its the same car, he claims its an H reg, whereas yours was a J, so I think he may have just stolen the photo from somewhere...still, best give him a ring and see what the deal is.
  2. Its got a bidder! Who's the crazy fool that wants a car with maybe only the gearbox intact?
  3. I wouldn't consider myself a dubber, even though 2 out the 4 cars I have owned have been VW.... I started with a Mk1 Golf, then Mk2 Astra, Mk3 Astra GSI, then bought my C and have been loving it ever since. As for all the "typical Corrado probems", the only thing wrong with mine in nearly a year of ownership is the heater not blowing on to the windscreen. But I have a handy thing called a teatowel which does the job just as well. And the fuel gauge occasionally sticks for about 5 seconds. Apart from that it has been 100% reliable. Not bad for a 17 year old car, eh? So ya boo sucks lol. I think it all boils down to how well the car has been looked after (as in using electrics when not needed). Also, how many people have electrical items in their house that are nearly 20 years old, used everyday and still work perfectly? Not many, that's for sure.
  4. Probably about as far as a Renault 5 would go before breaking down!
  5. Yeah...damn her spelling... ^^^^^^ :-P It was a joke mate! Was trying to be ironic but if i have to explain it I guess it just isn't funny! Maybe he was being secretly ironic?
  6. How petty...I mean what did she expect, the guy does drive a Porker.
  7. Search is your friend. It will have been covered here before. The more specific you are the better the results. eg: "drilling and airbox and panel and filter" Also the knowledge base on wiki is useful. The trumpet/snorkel is a bit of plastic inside the airbox (as RobHeath said) which reduces the size of the hole. Rip the mutha out. If You only drill the wing side it will not suck up as much hot air from the engine.
  8. Really sorry to hear this has happened Lippy. You have my sympathies (got my fogs and indies stolen 2 nights ago - know its nothing like what you must be going through though), hope you still keep coming back to the forum. Keep your chin up, in the end its only material possessions, at least you or the lady weren't hurt or terrorised.
  9. Panel filter and drill the airbox seems to be the preferred method here. You can get a cone filter, but its 150 quid or something dumb, as its got to have loads of doodads on it for air metering and suchlike. Edit - its made by Stroeve. Do a search on google and you'll be shocked at the price.
  10. Not that easy, don't have the cash. Plus its either live here or in the arse crack of Wiltshire with my parents. No ta. I'm a London boy, it comes with the territory.
  11. I wanna kick them in the nuts. Sure its gotta be someone round here with a 'rado....not anybody from here, mind you. There's a white VR6 that kicks around sometimes. I'll ask him if I see him.
  12. Bummer dude. BTW, i didn't mean you were weak, rather the people who stole them. Not like you can flog them on fleabay. Now I know why people paint their house number in huge white paint down the side.
  13. Those doors don't even open properly! You can only see about 1/3 of the door space. So weak.
  14. Wheelie Bins? That's weak! Surely you just ring up the council to ask for new ones? wouldn't know as I live in a flat. I am gutted...... jazzdevil, you're right. When I was in 'Nam...........
  15. MAX POWER! PIMP MY RIDE! Definitely not. That's reserved for fools who spend 30k on their Saxos.
  16. This is really starting to get my goat. After having had my windows smashed in January, now I walk round the corner and find this. Who the f**k steals your foglights? I mean, FFS, that's so low. South London sucks, bunch of savages in this town. As of tomorrow I'm looking for a lock-up. :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
  17. Pardon my ignorance but what is an ABF engine? Is it just an engine code like 9a etc?
  18. argh, this thing makes me sick, the lucky sods!
  19. Repmobile! Was the best selling car for ages till the Bimmer 3-series overtook it, so I'm sure there'll be loads around to choose from. But on the other hand there'll be loads around....if you catch my drift. To go from a C to that might be a bit disheartening. I suppose what you en up choosing really is affected by the way or where you drive. If its motorway then I'd say yeah, get a Mondy. But if its town there's no point getting a big car......its all common sense, but a lot of the time the heart wins out when it comes to cars, so beware! I was carless for six months before I decided to get my C, its a hard choice to make (which is why I have no intention of selling it either). Ah balls, go buy a Lancia Integrale.
  20. Agreed - they're among the best looking motors but are always going funky on you (kinda like women! lol). Generally very shoddy build quality. I know its not so cool, but I hear very good things about Ford Focuses (Focii? sp.), good drivers car and reliable too.
  21. When my C was broken into I felt destroyed, so god knows how you feel now.... you have my deepest sympathies, I really feel sorry for you. Hope you get it back. Keep an eye in the locals, trader and fleabay. If you know the vin no. it may be easier to track? Think with your no. plate being so distinctive, they'll bung a fake one on before trying to flog it.
  22. Looks nice... you fancy cleaning my motor? lol.
