I once drove after having a skinful when i was 19 at uni - and nearly killed the other 5 people who were crammed into the car. it was only a straight road home from the pub, but somehow i managed to go down a cul-de-sac (not that i knew it was). it was only because i thought i was going a bit fast that i started to brake, then saw out of the fog a load of bollards coming for me. i only just stopped in time..... scared the sh1t out of me and everyone else. if i hadn't started braking i'd have probably been still accelerating and killed everyone. i felt a complete tw@t, parked the car and told everyone to walk home. these days i won't get in a car if the driver has had a drink, just too scary, even after one pint. i think most people drink/drive at least once, but most learn their lesson and never do it again. i'm glad this d1ckhead did't hit anyone or hurt himself. i hope he gets a b1tchslapping from his mates.

i think maybe one or more of the rubbers has gone, they were looking tired last time i looked underneath. i put up with the faults cos its such a wicked car to drive. It puts a smile on my face every time i get behind the wheel, can't ask for anything more. except power. Jim - i wholeheartedly agree. yet it is a difficult thing to imagine in this fookin weather. peversely, it was actually when i turned down my tunes that i heard the 'zorst booming through the bodywork.

I thought my C was a bit louder today and when i got out i saw this. It seems my exhaust has migrated and started melting my bumper into a new shape. Great. Another one for the list of to-do's over christmas.

IIRC Chip used to be Boyd's managing director for his company. They bought out Boyd by getting 51% shares and then voting him out. The company went bust soon after and Boyd wasn't even allowed to use his own name due to bankruptcy (how do u spell it?) - this is why Boyd hates Chip and flies off the handle whenever someone mentions him, and was so quick to sack Mike and Charlie when he found out they had done a bit of work for Chip. I love the American Chopper guys, yeah some of their stuff is over the top, but they are show bikes rather than useable choppers. Plus the arguements are legendary and usually end up with mass destrucuion of some kind! Quality.

obviously you don't have sky tv! they are two very famous hot rodders who each have their own programs on the discovery channel. xbones - close, but no cigar!

Well, I've done a search on this and came up with nothing, so I've decided to open a can of worms. Apologies if it has already happened. Who's finished products do you prefer? Never mind about management styles, knowledge (or lack thereof), etc, this is about the cars once they are finished. My vote goes for BOYD CODDINGTON. Some of his cars, especially the old hot rods, are sick. Foose has got really nice style and clean lines, but I think I prefer Boyd. That being said, I'd rather work for Chip any day of the week. Boyd has no idea what he is doing - think this is pretty obvious by the amount of personnel changes he goes thru. And as for Dwayne - what a stress head! Mods - any chance of getting a poll added?

grimmy, i think the answer is try no to park in student central! i used to go southampton uni and lived in portswood, you would not believe some of the carnage that i saw. like some people ( i won't say mates cos i wasn't that friendly with them) effing around in a trolley, one inside, one riding on the back down a hill, BOOM! straight into a golf, absolutely wrecked the whole side of it. they laughed and carried on walking. cnuts. with such cheap beer and proliferation of 18-21 year olds (apologies to anyone that age!) you're always gonna get your car donked at some point. which is why i had a shoddy mk2 astra back then.

Me and (female) flatmate were walking back to the car after doing some shopping and she is heading in the wrong direction. Me:You;ll have trouble getting in that car. Her: Why? My rado's starting doing this as well! unfortunately i don't have anything to jack it up on, except the vw jack, which looks to be a bit small and could slip. Phil K - did you ever find out what this noise was?

I've got an alpine in my C with the blue lumi and silver plastic. it looks OK, but i never have the lumi on anyway - it gives slightly better sound quality and having my ipod plugged in i only use it for turning the voume up or down!

SOUNDS OFF in Coulsdon, Surrey. My old dear went in to get a new stereo put in, he quoted her one price, then added on about 100 quid after he'd fitted it. And the electric windows were then buggered afterwards which he tried to claim his innocence, the lying git. I've heard loads more bad stories about this guy, so avoid at all costs (as it will cost you more!).

There's only one way to settle this....... go thru a speed camera at 140 and see how fast they think you are going! Of course, you may end up losing your license, but at least the speedo issues will be sorted :lol:
