Both nuts and good then. I will take mine up on the saturday after then. Setting off about 8 also. Good job on the discount team!
-
Im still going to get them done by the but I have to sort it asap as I was forced off the road by a truck and busted a winter wheel my cars running on at the moment. Its going to have to be this saturday morning and waiting is not an option for me. Sorry. Still there standard prices are still very good.
-
Im after the outer rims polished, slightly darker shade of silver and made round again. They are 17s and will need the tyres taken off and on. Im inclined to take them myself as I want there opinion on whats possible with polishing and shades of silver options. Also im in newbury so it would mean a bit of a wheel shuffle also.
-
Any updates on this. I need my wheels to be made round again fairly soon.
-
Even better. Keep us informed.
-
When are you planning on going up. Mine have to go up also, some time soon.
-
Thanks fellas. It was just a passing though as it is metal.

What are peoples opinion on using the same metal head gasket after removing the head to do some work on. The gasket is about 4 years old now and covered 20k miles. Is it just me being tight or does it have many more miles to give. Does'nt drink any water and no other issues really.

Excellent. Should fit in fine as my rad fan upgrade is something to be done over time too. Always good to be on the list for anything you know.
-
Is it still possible to source one of your brackets? Had a look at one fitted on saturday and looks absolutely spot on. And a controller if poss. Keep doing what your doing. Its making us very happy!

It did 20k with a former owner and about 25k with me. I believe you were the recipient of the 268s also. It really is just a sounding out, money counting thing at the minute. Something for the summer maybe. My cars gone from being a TOY/commute to a COMMUTE/toy.

Im giving some serious thought into going 24v and am wondering what my current set up would fetch. Just trying to sort out the costs right now. My vr6 has lots of tuned parts but I took the 268s out of it because they felt lumpy around town. What would I get for a Schrik big valve head on standard cams, Lightened bottom end, Polished intake manifold, alloy baffled sump and a large throttle body fetch. I know these things are based on condition and shes fond of oil which Im putting down to valve stem oil seals but I dont particularly want to crack it open and fix them myself.

Really tempted by the spal and crazydave bracket thing that he does. Another thing that when replaced should work forever.

Is Samco hoses for Golf MK3 VR6 the same as for the Corrado?
12 DEG BEN replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Ive looked around in the past and found kits for corrado VRs. Theres another company that does them called sfs performance. Might be cheaper and they may have got round to doing corrado VR hoses. Worth a look. -
See I figured seeing most the correct numbers and a B I thought it would be a VW revision. Sure someone on here would like a sparkly new unit. The one in my cars manky and I was replacing stuff before it gave up on me.
-
I have picked up a brand new fan control unit thing and need to fine out what it belongs on as it doesnt fit the Vr6. The part number is 3A0919506B. A bit miffed that it was incorrect. You can only see 919 506 in situ in the car. The first three digits would be the important ones.

Is Samco hoses for Golf MK3 VR6 the same as for the Corrado?

The difference is that the golf ones have a hose missing that goes from the intake tube to the idle stabilization valve. They are mostly OBD2 and dont have this part. -
Think there is some issue with removing the abs system and passing mots. If the records show you have it, it has to have it. Not sure how stringently they look for it but they will check for the light. Think its the same for cruuuuuz control.
-
I try to hammer the new size up in the hole. Mostly to the sound track of swearing and bloody volkswagen.

Have a look at the throttle lever damper on the throttle body. Its a yellow and red thing. If its too far in the throttle shuts too quick and the engine cannot deal with the sudden change. Would have thought it would deal with such a small amount of peddle though!

Heres mine on cup 2 replicas.
-
Mine arrived this morning. Really good picture. Happy christmas to all. :x-mas:

Just putting mine back on after powder coating and new bushes. In fact new everything. Dont want to do this task again for a very very long time. Powder coating was only 20 quid.

Same here until a week ago. Now a pull on the windscreen option discharges water where ever possible.
-
Dont know if this has cropped up with anyone car but when I spray the windscreen the car decides that the rear screen needs some water too. Does'nt the pump spin one way for the front and the reverse for the rear making what my car does, impossible! These cars are so special! Like herbie or something.
