hi, i have a early interior corrado, and find the speakers to be a little bit desired for, i want to upgrade the speakers, but i dont want to change door cards etc or have pods made etc etc, idealy im after a set of components so i can put the tweeters in the dash near the windscreen, what would people recomend as i know i may encounter some depth issues with the door cards etc. cheers
-
check the bently manual, that will tell u the dimensions of the track in there, or on etka, atleast u can see if the rear axles are dif part numbers, i woulkd check myself for you but my etka has packd up and i havnt got a bently manual no more. but i am pretty sure that the rear beam is wider.

rears? no im on about the both front vr6 280mm calipers and 16v calipers so your saying both are the same and i can use them, thank you very much, and cheers for measuring them up in your cold workshop thanks mate
-
oh buggger, not what i wanted to hear tbh, going from a set of 288 calipers i could of used but would have had to have spacers etc on my wheels, to a set of 280's that would fit with no issues what so ever but are possibly useless if i cant swop the sliders over. cheers for looking mate
-
no the slider bolts that fit into the carrier that slide, the caliper then bolts to these sliders.
-
are the VR6 280mm ones the same as the 1800 16V sliders? would of lookd on my etka but that has decided to throw a wobbley on me and now refuses to load, if not can someone put the VR6 280mm (1995) part number up please for the sliders.
-
thing is i use the car as a daily and cant really do with the car being of the road at all, let me know how u get on with the hoses? cheers
-
so they do fit then, thats good to hear, what hoses you using? he 16v ones? or the G60 ones?
-
ok cool, so i can defo use the vr6 calipers then as above?
-
right been offerd some vr6 calipers, 280mm vr6 calipers, will they fit on my corrado 16v? i have bought some black diamond G60 discs will there be any issues with using these discs and G60 pads and the VR6 corrado caliper and carriers.? cheers
-
ok will do mate, do ou know of anyone who does it? pm me if u do

yes labeld it all up etc, but removing all the headlight loom and that, so ive just got the ecu loom think ive located a imobilser defeat for the ecu now :)
-
yes i have that bit, but there are more wires 2 grey wires, one of which plugs into ecu, the other?? aprantly the diagnostic port acording to autodata. and then i have one fat brown wire that has black sheething over it (earth) and then one thin black wire...?? (ign live?)
-
hi, have a vr6 obd2 engine im currently in priocess of removing and installing into a corrrado 16v, i have removed all the ecu and engine bay loom, and removed what ever doesnt go to the ecu. i.e all the lgiths washer jets indicators etc. as im using all my look for that, all i want is the ecu loom of the donar car. i have the transponder unit and the black box of tricks, one of the wires from the ecu plugs into the black box, and there is another wire that comes of the black box, acording to the autodata wring diagrams this is for the datalink connector? the 16pin one? also there are 2 other wires, i take it these are ignition live and earth.? and any links to point me in the right direction regarding the wiring of the obd2 16pin connector wiring would be gladly appreciated. thank you :) also if yu are wondring why i dont just buy a vr6 corrado its because the vehicle has had a fair amount of money spent on it and got a lot of main dealer history.
-
bugger, thats foild my plan then.. haha cheers mate
-
no this one ive been offerd.... hoping its the right one? as the sticker on my ecu has seen better days and i cant make out the code.
-
oh my god! just seen this thread..... amazing, cant say much more then this to be honest. personaly i think that wear is normal on a engine with this many miles, as it looks like they are the thrust sides of the pisons? so your always going to get slightly more wear on that side anyway, but like mentiond if your planning on keeping it check bore wear and measure up for some new pistons? depends how much money you want to spend on it.
-
right been searching for about half hour now in the search and cant find the asnwer im looking for, can anyne tell me what ecu this is, is it the one with or without the imobliser? ecu code is 021 906 256 thank you,

waynos you say yours startd to kick some heat out when on a drive, sounds to me like youve got a massive airlock in the system, try running it up, with the rad cap of untill a steady stream of water flow comes through into the expansin tank on the return hose, if possible wait for the rad fan to kick in but i doubt it at the temps we have outside at the min, leae it for about 5mins every so often keep pumping the radiater hoses if you can reach them and keep the water topd up if it drops, then put the cap on and see if thats any better, defoinetly got air in it somewhere, did you check thermostats?
-
ill second that mate, im sifting for info too, could u pm me the links to the ones you have? cheers mate sorry for the hijack but free bump :)
-
ive never had an issue bleeding these up, your thermostat ok? and have you got the diffrent rad cap on, the black ones are suposed to be changed for the blue ones, or the other way around, defo check the thermostat though first.
