    2l 16v

the two cars use the same fuse box so the wiring should nt be that hard, if its got a immobiliser it will make it a bit harder but should still be ok. you ll be able to run the car without the cat aswell which will help with the power i have a friend with a mk3 16v and its quite torque and not as peaky as the 1.8 16v kr
  2. the standard k jet pump can produce over 5 bar, more than both the g60 and vr6 i know somebody with a 314bhp mk2 and he is still using the k jet pump, so you ll probably be ok with it
  3. surpose you could make it thermostat controlled with a cooling fan, that would be ideal for strips and traffic keeping it a constant temp
  4. just had a thought probably not recommended, but the water pumps are cheap if you got one and cut down/modify the fins then i guess the flow could be reduced - causing the temperature to rise :?
  5. aah i see, so if there is lest back pressure, am i right in thinking that it will aid the turbo to spin up and so it will be less laggy?
  6. yeah, i was looking on the pace website, and the cost of the pumps and radiators add up to quite a lot, more expansive than a uprated intercooler :( i was thinking about using a small radiator off a motor bike, if i could pick a second hand one up it ll help keep the cost down :)
  7. Hi, does anybody have a chargecooler? they look a lot simpler to plump in. and i imagine the route to the engine will be shorter so less boost pressure will be lost. are there any bad points etc?
  8. Hello, i am building a G60 turbo and have been advised to use an oil cooler, i have found a selection on ebay which i can probably use, but i am unsure of what size to use?
  9. i have nt got it yet but i ll check when i get it, it was sold as a g60 rail, could it perhaps be from a digifant mk2 8v? :(
  10. has anyone heard of blue injectors? just bought a g60 fuel rail and its got blue injectors :?
  11. thanks, is it a dealer only part?
  12. Hello, can anybody tell me what the sensor which sits on the intake pipework after the intercooler but before the inlet manifold is called? and whats its purpose? thanks
  13. hello. i am a big fan of the g40, i am on the g40 yahoo group, i was listening to the progress of the turbo one i think you are talking about, but not heard about it for a while. did nt realise it was putting out that much power, just been lookin at jamie fagans mk1 g60 turbo in a pvw shoot out, 240bhp and 270 lbs torque did nt realise that it took so much power to turn the chargers. i have a friend with a g40 and the power is istant so i can see why yours pulled away off the start
  14. i am gonna be using the g60 management, i have got a chip coming design to be used with the turbo, but what i ll prob end up doing is run it on low boost till everything is runin nice then book it in somewhere for a re-map and turn the boost up, perhaps jabba, cause i dont want to end up melting anything. i ve also seen some heat sheild jackets which sit over the turbo, which i am goin to look into to try and keep the inlet manifold cooler did nt realise 100 was the best temp (thanks), i ll have to play around with the cooling, and try to get it to sit around the 100 mark, quite away off this though still a lot more bits i need to get hold of. still not sure about what intercooler to use thanks for the help so far, got a few more things to keep in mind
  15. thanks do you think i should be able to reach my target of just over 200bhp quite easily? running a standard engine about 1.2 bar. once i ve got it up and running i ll see how it performs and then look into other mods. not sure what intercooler i ll be using yet, i dont want to use one to small reducing the power but not really sure how big, is it possible to go to big, giving bad results? i am using a vr6 rad and goin to get an cool running thermostat and fan switch, would a oil cooler be a good idea?
  16. i have decided to go with a turbo set-up, and i ve ordered a variation of the t3 turbo, i am aiming to have just over the 200bhp mark, does anyone know what a save(ish) maximum boost i can run before i start running into problems, using a internally standard g60 engine? when its up and running i ll be getting it set-up and the fueling increased hopefully. mars- what sort of power are you running, and what sort of set-up have you got? (boost pressure, any other mods etc) thanks for any help
  17. had a bit of a clear out tonight and i found the infomation on them :D Motex Telephone 07050682654 http://www.sportexhausts.com
  18. had a look for it but did nt find it sorry, :( if i come accross it i ll let u know
  19. i had a motech pipe on my vr6 £40 got it at a track day, i did pick up a card i ll have a look tonight see if i can find it
  20. its a deep spoiler, getting quite worn now, may be time for a new one. yep the same scruffydubber
  21. have you got the web address for neuspeed as i need some bushes from them. cheers
  22. yeah, it was john williams old car (so i cant take any credit for it), i have nt got all the ice that he had in it tho, but i am slowly putting my bits into it, the spoiler on the red one is off a seat (not sure which model) its a bit smaller than the original at the front but deeper on the sides aiding clearance, its a 2 pc one as well and about £15-20 a side. its quite flexible so tended to bend rather then crack, it was easy to fit, a little bit of modding, i fixed it on with a number of plastic ties so if i did catch it, it tended to rip the ties off rather then damage it, found this to work very well. i had a look for the part number but its only got a bit of it the rest was on a the edge i had to cut back :(
  23. Hello, is there anybody on here with a G60 using a turbo instead of the G-ladder, or is there anybody using the bahnbrenner superchager on a g60. i'd be interested in hearing about them. i know of one with a bahnbrenner charger on a 16v sounds wild. just interested to see what power effects these have on the 8v g60 thanks
