Hello, I'm after the square breather that attaches to the cam cover. And I'm also after a performance G60 Cam, ideally a Newman cam to pistops developements spec. Please email [email protected] Thanks
-
Hi, I'm looking for a complete G60 engine conversion. Higher spec the better. [email protected] Thanks

You don't need side repeaters, you just need an indicator visible from the side. If the mot station are funny about it. Just do what i did with my old corrado. Stick some small side repeaters on the side of an old splitter for the mot. Nice and easy

Good place to start. If no joy, I would look at your stalks, still no joy, check out all the earths.

It looks even better in the flesh And even better on the move. Good to see it out and about

Dont take it personally

quote="kevhaywire" Personally.....jack it up to 60cm from floor to arch at the rear and 59cm at the front. That is, I've found (with a 90mm spoiler) the best compromise between slammage and useability. It's literally only 5mm or so higher than you have already. Slamming is for gee boys who don't know how to set up suspension properly and think the mid 90s sump scraping look is still cool, it ain't. A balanced ride height earns more respect. quote More respect from who? Middle aged/Old men who have nothing better to do then spend money on fast cars to make them selves feel better? quote="kevhaywire" True, but I know how much suspesion travel there is once you drop below a certain point, i.e very little. I drive mine VERY hard and I set it up so it doesn't bottom out on the **** roads I have to put up with on a daily basis. There's a particular nasty B road that looks like a tractor has ploughed it, but I take that at 100mph..... whoopy me, aren't I a hero, but I know for a fact if I drop it below 50mm, it will ground out. I'm not saying you're a wuss behind the wheel but surely you can appreciate that if the wishbones have no travel left, what is going to absorb the shock? . quote We all know that lowering a ROAD car as low as it can, will not be at its best handling, but public roads are not made for racing thats what the tracks are for.. I read this on another thread. quote="kevhaywire" James, you're clearly an intelligent bloke. Don't devalue it by making a fool of yourself like this. People will like you more if you use your intelligence and charm (if you have any) in a less defensive and belittling way. So the next time you put keys to screen, try and imagine how people are perceiving you from the content of your posts, if it bothers you at all. . quote Perhaps you should listen to your own advice. And try not to upset other people. And not judge people from the ride height of there car Lets face it if a new guy with no other posts, had wrote what you have in this thread, the mods would have been down on him like a tone of bricks. I took the decision not to post on this forum a long time ago, because of this child banter, but could not resist this time 8)

the knocking on the back it probably the exhaust where it goes over the beam. dont rasie the back just lower the front;-) (altho its understandable if u cant get to uni.)
-
thanks, its not far from my house so i ve got no excuses. 1pm this sunday - i should be there. (unless i get lost)
-
not been on here for a while, and spent about an hour just looking and reading this thread, lots of info there and some really good pictures. some really good work there guys. except you ve made some crazzy ideas to start floating round my head.
-
its quite mad in milton keynes, like no place i have been before, roundabouts everywhere and i keep getting lost. yeah i ve got a mk2 at the mo. where abouts is the meet? could you send me some details (pm or e-mail)
-
yeah moved to mk now, started a new job, going well so far. and i am closer to the big shows seeing your car makes me want another, (but u might get upset if a copied it) will you be going to many shows this year?
-
Do a G60 mate! 8) It can't be that much more expensive! add it to your other engine and have a g60 16v. the car is still looking sweat mate. 8)
-
not sure about using VR pistons, but i know audi S2 pistons work well, you can normally pick these up off german ebay. with 16v pistons the compression is too high for FI and g60 ones are too low with a 16v head
-
i know of some g60 8v's producing 300bhp, althou i imagine the charger would want regular servicing. u should get a screw charger, no servicing more boost and more air flow, and if you dont like the noise you can get silencer kits. have a look at bahnbrenner.com
-
my only worry would be if it became your job you might get sick of it and might not want to do it in your spare time then.
-
there was a german mk2 vr runnung throttle bodies, think they where actually from a motor bike, i bet it sounds mental. perhaps have a word with grant motorsport, i know there are some on gareth spillers (i thing thats his name) 24v.

sorry to here that mate, :( sounds like you have some bad luck

BBM solid front motor mount. - quick review
scruffydubbers replied to Red=Fast's topic in Engine Bay
yeah i ve got one of these babies too and love it. i would be tempted to change your rear mounts though as i imagine they will not last that long. the only bit i am worried about is the vag part which bolts to the engine then to the mount, i ve heard of these snapping, and with the mount being solid i imagine this is the weakest point. you still have a little give as the front beam is also bushed -
Gearbox selector unit(now shift weights on early C's)
scruffydubbers replied to davidwort's topic in Archive
there are a few different types of weights and linkages. there is one which bolts onto the early corrado linkages which i think the later g60 had fitted as standard heres the part number weighted cable change gear selector Weight - 357 711 188 A Bolt - 357 711 234 A Nut - N 902 920 01 on the mk3 cable change boxes they have a huge weight which makes for a really easy gear change, i had this on mine but it doesnt clear my charge cooler :( the mk3 type is different linkage and i dont think the weight can be took off to fit other types, the whole linkage can be changed but the shaft is a different size, so u need the part it runs in to. not sure what the passat one is like i can get some pics of the bolt on corrado one and a mk3 if u like -
Gearbox selector unit(now shift weights on early C's)
scruffydubbers replied to davidwort's topic in Archive
yep it is as simple as that, altho the new selector might not fit in, some selectors have different sized shafts. if it is a different size you will need the part the selector sits in if u look under the gearbox opposite where the selector goes in there is a small oval plate with two bolts in, i think this is what the selector sits in, and you may need this off the passat box (but u may not) -
yeah ditto, i bet the VRs could get some good top speeds aswell 8)

woo, have to have a looksie :)
