thanks, i spent about four months doing the conversion, it was on the road a week and 2 days when a learner driver drove into the side of it, but i learned a lot from it and kept a lot of bits to put on the black one. the black one has got much nicer interior etc, and i think its a bit more classy, white wheels isnt everyones taste, hopefully gonna be making a few mods to the black one to make it my own. -

i saw a cat on e-bay for a g60 think it may have been new, not sure if it fits yours though, sorry
-
hi, i replaced the cat with a stainless pipe on my VR6 and it made a noticeable difference - more reponsive

hi, i am running 7" with a et of 42 no probs and the car is really low, although i have coil-overs which are narrower than standard suspension, therefore giving me more clearance at the rear of the wheel, i used to have 7.5" with et35 and they where ok with minor arch mods. if you bought the wheels and found that they did nt have enough clearance with the suspension you could always use spacers to get them to fit correctly.

VR expansion tank removal - which rad to use?

the mk3 might be a show car, but i imagine it is pretty reliable since he came all the way from the netherlands -
VR expansion tank removal - which rad to use?

on emiels car i could see one of the pipes (which goes to the throttle body) blocked off and tucked out the way, so perhaps he connects it up when the weather gets cold -

VR expansion tank removal - which rad to use?
scruffydubbers replied to Valver's topic in Engine Bay
i have thought about doing this myself, perhaps if you took a big rad of a 306 diesel or the like it might be big enough to keep the vr cool, and not have an expansion tank. i was looking at emiel kooistra's nimbus grey mk3 vr, at the e38 show and he had the original rad but a very smooth engine bay and no expansion tank, i ll try an explane theway he had done it. there is a small coolant hose which comes out the top rad hose, which goes round to the top of the expansion tank then to the throttle body. this hose had been completly removed, the top hose from the rad went straigth to the engine, and the return hose from the throttle body (which goes to one of the heater matrix feed pipes) was blocked off. the throttle body should run cooler like this and in theory aid power. the hose which used go to the bottom of the expansion tank went to a small plastic body which had a filler cap on it, this was neatly installed on a custom bracket on the rear of the engine quite high up. there was some kind of overflow pipe coming off this as well. this system has no expansion tank but can be filled easily and if checked oftern i cant see there being a problem unless you get a burst pipe. but this would be a problem anyway. the small plastic body with the cap and overflow tube on looked like it was from a japanese car perhaps removed from a corner of a radiator. i am not the best at explaining things so prob best if you try and have a look at the car at a show or some pictures -
dont think you can chip it because it is mechanical injection, you could remove the cat and fit the cams out of a 1.8 16v this would help it
-
i cant see how you can use adaptors with out changing the offset, might be something to keep in mind.

on my first corrado i had moved the number plate and had it smoothed thought it looked good, i ve still got the bumper in tornado red, but want to keep it really. i now own the ex feature pvw car that you mention above with the complete smoothed front bumper and prefere this look, but i am not sure if it would work with all colours. i saw one at vw action thing it may have been painted by premier, it had just the indicators left in and thought it really suited the car.

hi, what model is your car? i think these wheels will bolt straight onto a 5 stud vr6, not sure of the offset tho. if your car is a 16v or g60 with 4 stud you need to change the rear discs for vr6 ones or mk3 ones, then thats the rear done. at the front you need to change the hubs for vr6/ mk3 5stud ones and the brake discs,

Corrado owners in wales - make youself known here please
scruffydubbers replied to dtjames's topic in General Car Chat
hi, i live about 15-20mins outside cardiff, i used to live in north wales and still go up there a lot as my parents and a lot of my friends live there. what corrados do you drive i ll keep an eye out. -
HI, i have got a corrado 16v and was thinking about building myself a 16v g60, this is the plan that i ve got so far, but if anybody had any advise or think of anythink i have forgotten then please let me know i was going to try and get hold of a complete g60 engine, buy the pulleys brackets for the 16v from bahnbrenner. use a g60 intercooler, run the engine on the g60 ecu and wiring. lower the compression of the engine initally using a thick copper head gasket from bahnbrenner, homefully then run the engine on a large pulley running low boost and if it all works well, start building myself a low compression bottom end so i can eventually run higher boost levels. i was unsure about what inlet manifold to use i know that a scirroco one can be used but i would like to use a 20vt style one, i heard that a audi s2 one can be modified to fit? any help on this would be greatfull thanks

Not sure of the age of your car but if you take the cat of it ll help, also i think you can get improvements by fitting the cams out of a 1.8 16v KR engine, you said that you have a K and N filter, have you modified the air-box might not make much difference but its gotta help.

TSR make one for the mk2 16v for about £270 in stainless steal not sure if it does fit the 16v corrado but i think the downpipes are the same on both cars so it might do,

hi i have just carried out a vr6 engine conversion to my 16v, the engine is a late 2.8 highline engine. what revs do a standard engine limit at, because it revs to the end of the dial, but its still pulling all the way, is this normal or could it possibly have been chipped?
