Dude, this is one fantastic project! I think most of us on here would love to see our cars get that sort of attention, i praise you for the time and effort you are putting into this. Cant wait to see it back from the body shop!! :D

Well ive just emptied my pockets at the stealers on everything needed, so i will do all the work myself. Luckily ive got access to a nice warm workshop!

So from what i can gather its another trip to the stealers tomorrow and hand over another load of cash :( Looks like im going to be shredding my knuckles this weekend!

Well thats what i would have thought, but it does not. As i said it was a strange oily smell, cant really describe it as anything other than that. Sorry. Thats why im confused as to if its the matrix or not  I had to wipe the screen and that seemed very greasey, im using G12 coolant if that helps.

Well after spending £250 at the stealers on Sat on various bits and pieces, the typical thing happened, My heater matrix has gone :( Bloody Typical! I believe its the matrix, the blowers couldn't clear the screen, and i noticed that it was steaming up the screen more, then i got a strange oily smell?? I checked the oil for mayonase, and nothing there, and there was plenty of water in the system. She only got up to 76 deg oil and around 90 deg water, not enough to produce alot of steam (i would assume) so i can only presume that there is a tiny pin-hole in the matrix. Can anyone confirm if this is the likely diagnosis. Thanks Adam

Found this one, sorry its not that big.

I have been told that Duckoil removes waxoyl really well, use it with a steam cleaner and you should have no troubles. Its great for under the engine bay as its still oil based and will continue to protect the paint.

Check over all of your cables as one may be broken or be disconnected, it sounds like one of your flaps that diverts air flow is staying in one position. I think im right in saying that the plastic gears are quite fragile, if one of them is broken that will also stop the flap from working. Hope that helps! Adam

This is a direct link to the manufactures website. http://www.f1spec.com/r1ck.html However they come in at $700 a pop  If you speak to them directly, they may be prepared to ship to the UK.

Neat trick, Well done! I always used to fiddle around with the card loose trying to screw the pin back on, if you don't screw the pin all the way down you have enough play to re-align the card back into place. Still a pain though, used to drive me nuts. I will keep this in mind :)

Mine has recently started doing this, my first assumption was the top mounts were on their way out. I was going to do them anyway when i change all the bushes on the front end.

Any VR owners felt the need to get a 2nd car?
raddovr6 replied to Veearrhsix's topic in General Car Chat
I have been thinking about another car for a while. Luckily i am changing position at work which will give me use of a van and will cut out the commuting in the VR, I still want a second car though, something that can get beaten up and abused, so the C will become a weekend car only. -
I think that the Scirocco has more in common with the DeLorean, taking into account they were designed by the same person (Giorgetto Giugiaro)

Is your Spoiler and Sunroof working? If these are not, then have a look at fuse no.16. This recently happened to me.

What you want to achieve is no tyre roll, which you will be giving yourself by going for the 225's. The best thing you can do is to go for a lower profile, i.e 40 or 45. That will give you a stiffer tyre wall, then that coupled with a 195 width should stop the side ways movement of the tyre on the rim. By doing this though you will reduce top end, but have a slightly quicker acceleration time. My 2p

your opinion on my wide corrado (new paint job)

I can see you have put a lot of work into the engineering side of things, and i praise you for that. But the styling????  -
£140!! That is a tad expensive, but then again that brand new one on Ebay went for £180 and brand new from the stealers i think they are around £300. Oh well, Christmas is coming :D

Well if thats the case, i will see if i can get another wheel. If not i may look into getting it retrimmed it its not too expensive.
