Ok after being inspired my KADVR6's recent leather dying i wanna get my interior sorted so its a more vibrant place to be (uni's finished for the summer so i have now got plenty of free time at the weekends) But i'm not sure i wanna spend the effort dying the standard seats as they dont give enough lateral support during cornering. Does anyone know of any leather pews (maybe OEM from another vehicle even) that provide better support in the base - tbh the backs grip my back perfectly but my asre slides about during 'spirited' driving  I've seen a lot of recaro's in C's now do these provide extra support?
-
Cheers dude, i phoned the TT shop earlier and seemed to think they would but said i could try a wheel on a TT hub to see if it'd fit, if VR6 has them that sounds like it should be ok :-)
-
i just read drewiee99's thread about the oe seats not being full leather (it's a bugger but design engineers at car company's are under so much pressure to save money its an understandable decision!) KADVR6, did you retrim the rears of the rover recaro's or were they already full leather cos am i right in assuming this dye will not work with the vynil panels?

Good choice mate RX and RXII's look 8) (but i'm biased) you can slam it to the floor but it become unusable! :( - my front splitter is abou 40mm from the tarmac and i have issues everywhere i go, as long as you go slowly over small speed bumps you should only scrape the cat shield, although you can donk the subframe! hope to see some pics soon :-) o and if u want a bllx filter this website might help your maths :) http://[url=http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp]http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Well impressed with them mate, really brightens up the cabin - lets be honest with black leathers its a pretty dull place to be! i'm rather tempted by the red or the tan from the site! although i'm not sure the green would be a good look! Did it take you 4 hours to do both the front seats and gaitor then? Is there anything you'd do differently if you did them again or is it a case of following the instructions to the letter? cheers

As it says it the title really, got BBS RXII's in 16x7 (mk3 golf anni rims)and it's finally time to sort the brakes out to 312's, i'm going to get a set this weekend from the friendly chaps down at TT roadsport but i dont wanna spend the money only to find they dont fit! Has anyone tried this combo? i'm just a bit concerned cos all TT's with these brakes seem to run at least 17's... i like the look of the C on the 16's so i dont really wanna change the wheels if it can be avoided cheers Andy

This alps guys a complete pen*s, how on earth can anyone descirbe a 10.8 second qtr time as fuck all. and then quote a race car's time(spaceframed and with virtually no civic remaining). The civic is an amazing car, i've read about it before but the time effort and money going in to it is obsene compared to the rather special mk2 that for all intents and purposeses remains simply a very well engineered mk2 (well done that man for quite a show at GTI festival at the weekend!). Who apparently drove to and from the track!! Can you simply not end this virtual slanging match by asking him how much he has in total spent on his (very good looking, dont get me wrong the teg is a lovely car) rice burner including the extra engine work he failed to mention up to this point, and then inform him of the cost of a VR6 C and a supercharger Conversion? that would royally p*ss on his bonfire The guy has no respect for anyone elses efforts and does not know what he is ranting about - quite clear from the inital statement that no one made a quick fwd car in the early 90's but honda. C VR6 is a good example (especially when guys on here are getting dynos from stealth for standard cars around and over the 200bhp mark (fly)) but there are others, the one that sprigs to mind is the JDM spec Nissan Primera GT (2.0 4 pot 170bhp) Good luck with this, did make me laugh reading his posts though, thanks :-)

The new Pontiac GTO is the same as the Vauxhaul/Holden Monaro overhere so if anyone wants different mats then i suppose that's be an alternative. But i'm inclined to agree with Supercharged, the VAG ones are pretty good really
-
Do you know anyone who has VAG COM cos its dead easy to just plug it in and check, most likely the same problem as i have, the wheel speed sensors need replacing. Good luck though
-
If he's fitted suspension components before it should be faily straight forward, my only advice would be new bolts all round - mine were shagged when i fitted my coilys with quite a few of the heads corroded so badly they were round!
-
Fuse 16.... 15amp, thats the spoiler and sunroof, fixed mine so hopefully yours will too. good luck the hot temp!
-
Sounds like the problem i have with the sunroof and spoiler, yeah it seems like its a fuse so i'm gonna check the bentley manual tonight and have a check to see, i'll let you know the result. As for the water problem, i had that when it went below the minimum level on the header tank but if its constantly coming on without the level being an issue then surely its a sensor problem? Good luck with that. Andy
-
opps, cheers xbones i didnt even click that the 16v are all 4 stud... does anyone know if there are discs out there that would make this work or are the calliper bolt positions too different? i seem to remember wilwood doing some big 4 stud discs that a collegue had on his mk2 16v a few years back
-
I agree, i wish someone would make them. I like the ones ive done myself but would rather have a properly manufactured set... I've got a set of the standard ones but laqured in red, the fit and finish of them is superior to any aftermarket lights i've ever seen/fitted, you cant seem to get the same OE quality with aftermarket bits. Well how often have you seen a set of replacement lights either not lining up at the join between the rear quarter and tailgate or misting up due to poor seals. Also buying a cheap set of 2nd hand standard units and spraying them yourself is way cheaper than the many £££'s that Inpro or soemone would charge
-
Well the newer vw's have different brake hose types, banjo fittings, so you need a set of golf 2 to golf 4 conversion hoses. You need a set of 312mm discs and a set of pads, the ones recomended by the TT shop were EBC pads and drilled discs, not sure if these are any good though as i have no experiance of EBC brakes! have a look at http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/312mm_brakes this contains all the info you'll need for attempting the conversion
-
Yeah your right Bally, it might be to low though, i grounded the cat out today on bumps at Hatfield uni - might have to raise it a bit :( or i'll probably just not take it on any routes with speed bumps! - how the hell do you get anywhere in yours? The weitecs are holding up well i'm getting used to the ride quality, quite a bit more harsh but thats what i was expecting, i dont think the C was though as it's developed some rattles! ah reminds me of driving the goof! The roadholding seems to be more stable with these on, but in this weather its hard to tell! As for the tints i'm stll in 2 minds has anyone got any pics of a lowered C on my wheels with the standard lights? thing is i put the tints on before the wheels and suspension so i cant really imagine what it might look like!

If you wanna buy them all ready done then trimsport or blingtastic are meant to be pretty good, you could always buy some manky bits of ebay and send them off to be pollished or chromed. I remember hearing the owner of blingtastic saying they could chrome almost anything! Suppose it depends on your budget and the amount of free time you've got, i mirror polished the rocker cover on my old gti, took many many hours and you get bloody sore fingers! looks awesome when its done though http://www.trimsport.co.uk/ mailto:[email protected]. hth

Thats fair enough double-6s and GIXXERUK to be honest i do feel a little bit chavy when a few people have asked and i've said no they're not painted its just stick on film but the good thing is it's removable and it also gives the lights a little protection, for the price of them i'm not gonna mind if i decide to bin them after a little while but at the moment i still like them

Cheers Goldie, i just set it so it looked right to be honest not sure the exact heights, i'll get it out on the road later with a tape measure (then my neighbors will know i've gone mad!) Thanks mtc R32, thats what i was going for, not too in your face but IMO how it should have come out the factory - although i'm still not sure about the front end :? it's only bn like that for 2 weeks so i'll give it a bit longer and maybe get someone to drive it up and down the street so i can see it in motion As for recomending the weitecs Goldie,... they do seem good maybe a little too soft though - kind of bounce over bumps, i had a fully adjustable Spax RSX kit on my old goof and you could play with the damping on that and i had it set pretty hard so it kind of just skipped over the bumps. But then again the spax kit could rattle your fillings out and this is far more comfortable and still very chuckable on the odd twisty bit although atm i havent been driving that enthusiasticly around bends as the roads are bloody slippy! The little bit of give kind of suits the C, the golf always felt on edge where as the C seems to just be able to cruise around with a lot of power in reserve! When you compare the cost to other kits its still not a super cheap option but speak to Darran at G-werks and he should be able to sort out a good deal, the quality of the parts seems superb though and as with any decent coilover set up its very easy to changer the height! Plus they're a very funky Green colour! Hey rob your C looked sweet when i saw it last weekend on the way back from mk, the smoked front makes it look very moody! as for the weitecs i've loving th height difference - i'm no longer embarrased to be driving a 4x4! but like i've said above i've got to give them a bit more time really, i'm taking it down to uni on tuesday morning so i'll see what its like on some decent roads (most of the roads round bedford are aweful!!)
-
just send them an email or give them a ring, when i spoke with him i got the impression they keep alot of used bits and pieces in stock and also most of their mechanics drive nicely modded ibiza's and golf's so i dont think there's a chance of getting through to someone who wont know what their talking about

I've been thinking about upgrading my front brakes as the standard 280's are scarily bad (i had late spec Golf VR6 callipers and 288mm drilled discs on my old gti and it stopped very well!) I've been looking on the forum and through ebay and it seems people are paying about £250 for a set of 2nd discs pads callipers and carriers. I thought this was a bit steep and i remembered theres a place that specialises in tuning TT's 5 mins from my house! Just went down to the TT shop this morning (you might have seen their lurid yellow/orange 3.2 TT in the golf+ in the summer) to ask if they have any 312mm TT spec brakes for sale 2nd hand? turns out they've been asked a few times by golf owners :D and will do a pair of carriers and callipers for £100 - not bad at all really!! They keep a stock of about 5-6 sets and have them in various paint combinations, i spoke to the owner and i think he said he had stock, black and red currently they can supply the new discs and pads as well if you like. They have a workshop on site if you need someone to fit them and they're located about 10mins from M1 J13 towards bedford their website is http://www.ttsroadsport.com phone number is 01234 855555 I hope this helps if you were thinking of upgrading! :) cheers andy

300mm Raid Dino, a bit different and very chunky to hold... perfect, allows me to drive it easily as well cos i've got very long legs and the original steering wheel was a bit of a pain!

Its a 1994 M plate VR6 in Metallic Black, i bought it back at the start of december 2006 with 108k and a FSH off a middle aged chap who'd owned it for just over 2 years, he barely used it, he kept it in a garage and only covered 8k! It was standard bar a decent head unit and amp and he'd put a stainless exhaust system and filter on it because his son told him it sounded better! The past 2 months have been a bit hectic trying to get it modfied to how i wanted it but i think i'm nearly there now so i thought i'd post some pics Mods K&N Induction Kit Magnex Stainless Steel Exhaust Weitec Hicon GT's BBS RXII's (Mk3 Golf Anniversary Versions - 16x7) Dunlop Sport SP9000's 215 40 16 Smoked Laminex Front Lights / Fogs / Indicators Uprated Front loom Smoked Side Repeaters Red Clearcoat painted rear lights Lupo GTI wipers Nissan Xtrail mk1 Beesting Aerial Raid Dino Steering Wheel New Original gearknob Sony Single CD Head Unit Sony 10 Disc Changer Profile 4 Amp 2x Alpine D's 10" Subs This is how it looked when i first bought her, next to my old GTI, poor quality pictures :( cant really see how dirty she is  And this is how she looks now :D a bit better i think! A few Shots of the interior - and yes i know i need to hoover the floor!

cheers jonrb, great help, all sorted!

Hey Bally, glad to hear you got it fixed, its bloody annoying when the cl stops (although i havent had to climb in the boot yet!) Looking at what you've all posted am i right in saying that my electric windows and central locking dont work at the moment due to 20A fuse blowing above the relays? I just had a new alarm fitted so i suppose they could have blown it, cos i cant hear the pump going and i've spoken to the fitters and they said it's had full closure and remote central locking programmed in
