Hi all, I have a few odds and ends that might help out. I have some VR6 wishbones, hubs (with silent bearings) and 280mm brakes with carriers hoses, disks and pads with some life left in them, complete with balljoints and driveshafts. I would like £100 collected from Reading, Berkshire if this helps at all. Thanks for looking.

Hi all, I have two gearboxes that I could do with selling. Firstly I have a golf mk3 gti 16v box. This has a 3.6 final drive in it, and the same gearset as a corrado VR. These make a huge difference to the way a corrado VR drives and makes a VR much more responsive when rebuilt with a VR bellhousing. I would like £80 collected from Reading. Berkshire. Second is a corrado VR gearbox. THis is standard, has covered under 100k, has no whines, leaks, or crunches. Perfect if you are looking to replace your problematic box. I have cleaned this and it looks great. I am looking for £120 collected from Reading. Berkshire. Thanks for looking.

Hi Alex, This is indeed from a CHN from a corrado, a 1995 model to be precise (though they are all the same) It had done just under 90k but was silen and smooth on removal. I hope that helps, Thanks. ---------- Post added at 11:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 PM ---------- Here you go :) ---------- Post added at 11:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:30 PM ----------

Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!
87 Jetta 16v replied to CoxyLaad's topic in Members Gallery
Yes, fortunately it fits around the vitals and clears the prop. It is so short of space it has to be heat coated so as not to melt the inlet and steering column boot. To get her running I need to get the manifold heat coated, finish wrapping the engine loom, buy an SAI blanking plate, get the subframe powder coated, tracking done and then off for an MoT proviing it all works. I am actually looking forward to driving it again. It has been a while!! -

Erm, guilty, project stalled for the moment, well, not exactly stalled, but slow progress due to having too many things on the go. Current target is end of September to be back on the road. I promise to put up some more pictures of progress soon. A few pics of the exhaust manifold I had made for her: Note, it is on the lounge floor carpet, not in the engine bay :( It needs to be heat coated by Zircotek but I want to deliver in person to avoid risk of damage. I have some pictures of some sound insulation that I have started putting in that I will post up early next week. -
VR6 | Mystic Blue - Storm | Reading, Berkshire Price: £4250 Description: Hi all, Due to the return of my first ever car from the paint shop, and a lack of space to keep all of my cars (I currently have five) I sadly need to sell my Mystic Blue VR6 Storm. I have owned this car for just under two years, in which time I have really enjoyed the experience. It was a car that I had always wanted ever since reading a back issue of the Autocar road test of the Corrado VR6. As is well known, the Corrado received what I can only describe as a fantastic write up. In the summary paragraph "You will know by now that we think this is a very special car indeed. Not only does it redefine just have effective a powerful front wheel drive chassis can be, but it also reestablishes the fact that there ain't no substitute for cubes when it comes to making small cars perform well. Very Well. It's a classic the VR6, and it's talents run so deep that it takes a while for them to sink in completely. Certainly in 20 years time if it appeared on the cover of some classic car magazine with the headline saying "one of the all time greats" we wouldn't be surprised. Fast forward 15 years and I bought a lightly modified Mystic Blue VR6. During my ownership I have painstakingly returned the car to standard, the reason being I wanted to meet one of my childhood heroes, not a shadow of its former self. As such, I have spent over £3,500 on replacement parts, paint and a little bit of labour (I have done large parts of the light mechanical and cosmetic restoration myself, the rest of the work has been done by J-Tech). It now looks, feels and drives as the factory intended to the extent that I am actually satisfied with the car. A short, but not total list of the work that has been done to the car in the past two years includes: Mechanical and Running Gear New Front Engine Mount New Gearbox Mount New Rear Engine Mount New Brembo Rear Brake Disks and Pads New VAG Rear Wheelbearings New VAG Front Wheelbearings New ABS Sensors New Rear Brakelines New Genuine VAG Rear Handbrake Cables Inners and Outers New Genuine VAG Rear Beam Bushes New Genuine VAG Front Wishbone Bushes New Genuine VAG Wishbones New Genuine VAG ARB Droplinks New Genuine VAG Balljoints Replacement subframe because the old wishbone front bolts would not come undone Replacement radiator Replacement Genuine Bosch Aux Water Pump New Low Temp Thermostat New Genuine VAG CV Boots New Genuine VAG Track Rods and Track Rod Ends New Genuine VAG Rear Shock Absorbers 288mm Front Brakes from a late VR6 Golf (the only non period part on the car and a very nice upgrade from the standard 280mm items) New genuine VAG Rocker Cover Gasket Three genuine VAG oil filters and oil changes New Genuine VAG Fuel Filter New Genuine VAG Air Filter New Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs Bodywork And Exterior Trim New Genuine VAG Rear VW Badge New Genuine VR6 Badge Replacement Passenger Door Handle Lock Barrel Retumbled New Bosch Wiper Blades Replacement VAG Front Grill painted in Mystic Blue Replacement VW Hella Passenger Side Headlight Refurbished VW Solitude Alloys with almost new Toyo Proxy tyres in the correct 205/50/15 size In addition to these parts I have also spent £1,250 on various paint correction Interior Replacement Headlining Replacement Genuine Bosch Sunroof Motor New Genuine VAG Handbrake Leather Grip New Genuine VAG Handbrake Arm Cover Replacement Drivers Seat Bolster In addition to this I have also refurbished and refinished the leather with a full furniture clinic kit so it looks almost exactly as it did when it left the factory. In summary, everything works as it should, the car has wanted for nothing in my ownership and as such is in great condition. It has covered 117k miles, it doesn't smoke, use any oil or water, make any funny noises or misbehave. The car has 12 months MOT and is taxed to the end of January 2013. Also included in the asking price is a brand new Genuine VAG Chains, Guides and Tensioners set which cost more than £200. I was going to change these just so I could say I had, however, I don't really have the time, and the engine runs silently so there is no pressing need. When driven carefully (which is 99% of the time) it returns 35 mpg on my 7 mile commute to work. On a run, driven gently you can top 40 mpg being careful. The pictures were taken this weekend so that is what the car looks like now. I also have some more pictures should anyone want to see them. The car is located in Reading Berkshire, I am more than happy for people to come and look at the car, please drop me a PM and I will send over my phone number. Thanks for looking, Neal.

Yep, a complete one off, and a total PITA by all accounts. Minimal space, long primaries of which three need to be longer than the others, needing to squeeze past a prop. The welding on it is something else!! ---------- Post added at 6:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:20 PM ---------- Not quite chrome, it is off to be ceramic coated, it runs very close to the inlet and the steering column boot too. It will probably be grey when done!! ---------- Post added at 6:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:21 PM ---------- Thanks :)
