I was EXTREMELY annoyed I couldn't make it today as I had to bloody work :( Looks like an awesome day out and half of those cars I absolutely love - I want that Zonda!! I'm going to try and make it to London on the 5th May when they come back :)

Taking a detour home on Sat night from a mate's house in Southend, I decided to go down the seafront to see what was about. I drove through a busy spot outside a burger bar and heard a "Oh wow! Look, a 'rado! COOL!" :D

Ahhh fair enough, your last comment sounded like you were having a dig which is why I didn't get it  Where in Essex are you? duke_st - I've only heard good things about KW V2 on other cars so thought I'd give it a go. The suspension on the car before was a pile of poo and wasn't even good enough to be sold on so that got binned. If the KW V2 suspension is better than that (and I dont see how it cant be!) I'll be happy :D -
I'd choose a TDi over a small petrol engine definitely - my other car is a 2001 SEAT Ibiza 1.9 TDi Sport. I get a nice average 50mpg, it never goes below 47mpg, even when "spirited" driving and I get pretty much 430-450miles to a tank :)

Quick update: The discs and pads have been changed - I had to wait another day to get the car back though, as the brake fluid had the consistancy and look of oil with bits of rubber in it :? The suspension has been fitted but with the 17" rims, the back hasn't really been lowered that much although the difference in handling is amazing! I also received my badgeless grill with grill spoiler today which took all of 3 minutes to fit including removal of the old grill ( excuse the cable ties holding the splitter... It scraped due to the camber in the road and half fell off when I was coming off my driveway and haven't got round to refitting it  the bumper needs a tweek too) -
I'm missing my Corrado after just 4 days of it being in the garage - I'd hate to think what it feels like after 7 weeks and even worse at 3 months!!

All will be revealed when I get my other wheels refurbed and do the other little bits to make it look less black.... and NO that doesn't mean painting the calipers pink vwdeviant :-P -
Yeah but who wants a new Beetle anyway

Most people have mentioned about hitting other cars, what if you happen to hit a pedestrian or cyclist? Don't be a fool - declare ALL of your mods. If you can afford to modify a car then you can afford to insure the mods as well.

I average 26mpg in my G. Poodling around town or stuck in traffic I get low 20s and on the motorway I get about 28-30 which sounds about right comparing it to everyone elses!

The suspension on it at the mo is complete pants so it needed to be changed anyway. The shocks aren't shortened yet its been lowered 60mm and causes the front to bounce hard but the back bounce softer which then makes it skip across the drains and small bumps - not good for the car, nor my insides! -

duke_st, thanks, I was getting a bit disheartened! Jim, it won't stay completely black - I'll be adding a few touches to it to make it stand out (which will stay a secret til I have done them!) but overall, it'll stay looking menacing and mean :evilbat: -
Most of you should recognise my car - I bought her in early March of this year from "Symtheus" who bought her from "stevemac" in 2006. Full spec of the car when I bought it is as follows: Engine: Jabba R1 Charger with 68mm pulley (though I think G-werks looked at since then but before I had it) SNS chip RSR charger outlet Boost return removed Carbon can removed Jabbasport ported & flowed head with red top injectors Solid front engine mount Piper 270 degree cam with Kent adjustable cam pulley Fully ported throttle body Jetex Cone Filter with heatshield Magnex stainless steel exhaust with CAT bypass pipe Exterior: 17'' Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels(Black) Lowederd 60mm on Boge Gas Shocks and lowering springs Smoked Side repeaters Lupo wiper conversion New three bar grille Interior: Momo leather steering wheel Sony single CD Vibe component front speakers (140w) Vibe 6x9 shelf speakers (360w) Custom MDF parcel shelf 12" Infinity Kappa sub Soundlab 4x120w amp (shelf & components) Lanzar 400w amp (Sub) Oxygen free speaker cable Professional quality RCA leads Custom MDF boot floor Pictures of how she looks at the moment (taken by Symtheus): Soon after getting her home I got her inspected by my local garage and one problem I didn't know about was spotted - the front brakes were knackered on the inner side of the disc and only by taking the wheel off was it noticeable. I knew the brakes were a bit spongey when taking her out of a test drive so expected them to have to be changed at some point, although not as soon as I expected :? I haven't done a great deal to her apart yet from change the steering wheel from a highly annoying, flat bottomed Momo thing to a completely black Richbrook wheel that doesnt slip out of my hands when I go round corners: I've also bought some Black Diamond drilled and grooved front discs and pads and fully adjustable KW V2 suspension, both of which will be fitted tomorrow (30/03): I had her on the rollers today and the results are: A pleasing 192.5bhp at the flywheel and 195.4 lb/t but a disappointing bhp figure at the wheels - 141bhp :( I have many more plans that will be revealed in the near future 8)

Hmm, so everyone thinks standard airbox? Not sure if I fancy a big plastic thing put back in my engine bay, although I suppose my girly side of "oh but it doesnt look as pretty" is trying to beat down the more logical side  How can I do nothing if I don't have standard induction? It has a Jabba heatshield and Jetex cone filter so I'd still have to spend money putting the standard box and filter back in. I agree with the amount of grit though - I was surprised at the amount of crap that came out of it when I cleaned it yesterday!
-
I'm thinking about changing my Jetex air filter on my G as the rubber seal around where the pipe goes in has split and also because I don't want blue in my engine bay. I've been told that the Powertec induction kits are really good (but this is from someone that owned a Toyo GT4) and I just wondered if anyone here had any knowledge of these kits, good/bad points, etc. before I fork out a ton to find that it's actually pile of poo! Cheers, L

Indeed, just make sure you hold it the right way up.... Just kidding  (awaits furious female backlash.....) In the majority of cases I totally agree with you!

No great loss and it seems like she can afford another anyway...

I'm 22 with an SP30 and accident both 4 years ago and for an approx 200bhp G60, mine is £738 fully comp with 4years unprotected NCB with Adrian Flux :) That was the best price I found. To renew with my current insurer, Brentacre - they wanted over 1100!!

If you've still got the original service manual, you should have a sticker on the otherside of the front cover which will give you your paint code :)

Do you have a copy of the email you can post up, Nikki? I don't buy either mag anymore and haven't for a couple of years, mainly because the level of journalism has taken a steep nose-dive in to the realms of Max Power Noddy writing. May I use a quote I'll probably never forget after reading an article from PVW : "Lower than your nan's tits"

Doh, got pulled by the police Friday night

It does seem my speedo is out around 3mph and I had thought about borrowing a mate's GPS to double check. In the meantime I'll just have to make sure my speedo reads just under the limit so I know I'm not doing quite a bit more  I have powers of arrest and a set of cuffs... EEEK *runs away*
