  1. Defo get the 5-0 involved to see if they can do anything and as a last resort, threaten to take him to small claims court.
  2. Thanks :) The wheels will be changing in the next couple of months though, they'll be staying black but I'm going for 16s instead of 17s.
  3. Yeah, I'm awaiting such comments. Brendan used to get that in his '68 bug when he had decklid stand-offs as well. I've thought about changing back to the original filter and box as I'm all for protecting the charger but it just looks so big and, well, plastic :? As for the blue dangly plug thing - can't say I've even bothered to look at it. Car is working fine without it so it can stay out for the moment. Knowing my luck, I'll plug it in and it'll mess up something else
  4. Zippy - no drilling at all :D The bottom lifters (that attach to the body) were dropped down as far as they can go on the bolts - don't lift them or it'll drop the bonnet instead of raising it, weirdly enough. The top lifters (that attach to the bonnet) were spaced with 2 sets of washers with the 2 closest bolts & nuts to the screen being a spaced bit wider than the inner 2. mrbeige - no engine smell as yet. I do get the off whiff of fuel whilst sitting in traffic anyway but I put that down to the slight overfuelling caused by the cam.
  5. Just a quick update! I got a bit sunburnt yesterday after helping a mate with his car as well as fiddling with the rado :( With the C, I started by raising the back of the bonnet to help let the heat out of the engine bay. I know it's a marmite thing but I personally love the look and it does actually work! The supercharger also sounds mega loud now ;) I also figured out the "kangaroo at low speeds/flat spot/hesitancy between 1500 and 2500 revs" problem. I started by cleaning out the ISV with some carb cleaner - a fair bit of crap came out but didn't make much difference to the running. I then checked the blue temp sensor - the car almost stalled the revs were that low so I knew that was working fine. The last cheap-ish thing I could think of doing was to change the plugs and leads. I kept with the Bosch W6DPO plugs (1 colder than std) but went for some Magnecor KV85 leads instead of the standard leads. At a later date I'll change the blue reducer to red to match the leads and the cone filter to black or the original box (haven't decided which yet) I took the C out for a drive soon after. I waited for it to warm up (as that's when the stutter starts), slowed right down to low revs and floored it... it picked up straight away, no hesitancy, nothing! Although the plugs and leads came to £110, it was a fairly cheap fix considering they were my last resort before I'd take the C to be fixed by my mechanic - well happy :D
  6. I've seen Lisa's Glamorous assistant and he'll probably break you legs for calling him that! Lisa, let us know how it turns out? Hahah yeah, he looks a bit of a hard b*stard ;) I fitted the part and it didn't seal at all so will need to get a new o-ring. Any idea if GSF/ECP sell them or am I going to have to go back to VW?
  7. That's nothing, here in South Essex we have TWO FQ-300 Lancer Evos :?
  8. Cheers :D I wasn't looking forward to doing it if I had to completely bleed the system (I'm a bit lazy  ).
  9. Just a quick one... I've had to buy a replacement elbow joint/rad pipe flange as it's developed a split down the side. Before I touch anything, I want to be sure of something - will I need to bleed the cooling system afterwards or is it just a straight forward swap and go? This is the bit I'm talking about (not my engine): Ta, Lis
  10. Simon - I received my keyring the day after I ordered it. It's awesome, thanks :D
  11. A red Mk3 Golf 1.4 CL :) ..... that I did crash 6 months later and could've quite easily killed myself in the process :(
  12. Nothing worthwhile reporting really. Suspension is on, black diamonds are on, got some speaker grills for the doors... and that's about it. Will be getting a full service, incl. plugs and leads next month and hopefully if I have any cash left over, I'll be getting the rear arches rolled or stretched (havent decided yet) ready for my other alloys to go on. Oh and I suppose I best fit my bumper and splitter properly - I'm not sure how long the cable ties will hold

Welcome :D This post is useless without pics 8)
  14. I've had a Mitsubishi Starion front bumper and a Mk3 Ibiza Cupra door in mine. Both were a tight squeeze but the bootlid shut each time 8) I did feel a bit guilty about using the C as a workhorse though :(
  15. Not beaten as such, I'd say more equal as neither could accelerate past each other but it was ashamedly a Fiesta RSt (not sure if it was tuned or not, though) :(
  16. My suggestion would be to get an alarm that's not a Clifford Concept - I had a 300 on my old Golf and had nothing but trouble. Friends with various Concept alarms also had problems even using different alarm fitters.
  17. It doesn't look good, Garry :(
  18. Very nice :D I love the black wheels against the red paintwork!
  19. I didn't think men were meant to be that observant? I can't say I noticed her man-hands, nor her Tango-like complexion... although I can't say I looked at the picture for as long as most of you probably did  Although the light signals weren't working, the sign told her exactly what she needed to do - open the gates and drive through, not open one gate, drive through, shut the gate, then open the other and drive through... it's really disturbing how thick some people are.
  20. Once you go black you never go back.... *hears groans* Oh c'mon, if I didn't say it someone else would've!
  21. That was my job the weekend just gone - it flew off on the Thursday  Quality [/quote:9744d] I don't think the Rover driver thought so
  22. That was my job the weekend just gone - it flew off on the Thursday
  23. Don't fit a cheap JOM grill/grill spoiler and then wonder why it flew off the car at 60mph and hit a Rover behind *whistles innocently*
