I went for a drive around with a mate on Friday night as we were bored, pulled away at some traffic lights in a dual carriageway 30 zone and plodded along at around 35mph. I knew there was a police car behind but didnt think they'd mind me overtaking a sloooow bright pink limo. A few meters on, the blues and twos started flashing so I pulled over. I got out the car and the policeman looked a bit stunned, I don't think they expected a girl to be driving a C-G60. I got the usual "is this your vehicle?", "do you know what the speed limit is down here" talk and I was like "yeah, bought it saturday and the speed limit is 30. I admit I was doing slightly more than that but it wasnt more than about 35". He then piped up with "well, we had to do just over 40mph to catch up with you Me: Oh... I can assure you my speedo read no more than 35mph. Him: Well, you were going quicker than that... Then it hit me that because I have 17s on, it's thrown the speedo out and it actually shows I'm travelling slower than I really am - doh! he did the usual check over of the car - tyres, tax - and also said that he stopped me not only for speeding but because it's quite a rare car and they get stolen quite often (the main reason why I don't mind getting stopped). I say my apologies and get let off with a warning and a 7-day wonder. He did mention that the C was nice looking and to keep my speed down  I guess getting stopped will be the norm under G60 ownership..? I suppose the bobbys couldve been a lot worse, I mean, there were 2 of them in the car so could've quite easily given me an SP30 and I'm thinking about fitting 16s anyway so it'll help my speedo read a bit more accurate!

I spoke to the service manager of SEAT when I wanted my Ibiza serviced a while ago: me: "I'd like to book my car in for a full service" him: "It's not due for a service yet" me: "I know, but I do a lot of mileage and I'd like an oil change, etc." him: "It's not due for a service yet, you've got another 5k miles left" me: "I KNOW, but I WANT a service as a do A LOT of mileage and WANT the oil changed" him: But it's not due for a service yet" me: "I've done 7000 miles in 4 months, I do a lot of miles, I'd like a full service PLEASE." him: "You don't need a service yet..." At that point, I was extremely close to punching the t0sser right between the eyes. I had a couple of other instances where he thought he knew best and spoke to me like a piece of crap because I was female... I know exactly how you feel Nikki

I just had to join in and share the love - I've only had my C for just over 5 days now and (apart from the fuel bill) I dunno what I'd do without my little BatDevil

The best I've found that's marginally close to a Corrado is a Mk2 Scirocco that was made by one of the guys on No-Rice: I'm guessing that is the sort of thing you're talking about?

Cor, they look good. Well done :D Much like the others, I'm tempted to give this a go too - ta for the inspiration!

That'd be me :D Welcome from another newb :)

Quality dimebag avatar Corradude :) Oh and I've managed to find a relatively normal pic now, although I was a wee bit squiffy:

That'd be a fair enough comment if I'd ever put a cigarette to my lips

For a start whether it's a joke or not, you're rude. Secondly, I brush my teeth AT LEAST twice a day, my eyes are just pretty bright white which makes my teeth look duller than they actually are. Cool! I could never have my tongue pierced - I value the enamel on my teeth too much lol and yep, I have a smiley piercing - it's pretty new, like, 4 weeks old - didnt hurt much although the pressure of the needle made me feel a bit queasy! I plan to get a bigger ring in the next couple of weeks so I don't have to pull such a stupid face for people to see it lol I can't get anymore facial piercings because of work :(

To keep chewing and maybe some more bits of metal will find there way around? :) I would try and find a picture of me looking "normal" but it's proving quite difficult

I dunno, I think I can give vwdeviant a good run for his money  :

There's a buying checklist lurking about, I think it's in the "knowledge base" at the top of the screen. If you can't be bothered to find it then here it is :) http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _Checklist

Thanks for the additional welcomes :D The rado is going in for a quick look-over by my local VW specialists on Monday so fingers crossed everything is all good (apart from the power steering belt squeaking it seems to be OK!) Nikki, it's Lisa from N-R :)

Maybe by name, but not by nature :-P I'll keep an eye out in the meets section for any local meets, cheers :)

If you read my initial post, it says I'm from Southend in Essex ;) I'm just based at Coventry for tonight working at the airport for my sins :(
-
I'll get some pics up during the week when I've given her a good clean and polish (that's if the weather gets any better - bah) The "warm" welcomes have got me giggling during a boring night at work in Coventry so I don't mind :)

Just thought I'd pop in and say hey! I'm Lisa, 22, from sunny Southend-on-Sea :) I bought Symtheus' G60 yesterday (which I understand is stevemac's old G) and I love it to bits already :D I've spanked well over half a tank of fuel in less than a day but it's put a huge grin on my face! I won't post any pictures as I'm sure you all know what it looks like at the present time but I have many plans *rubs hands to together like Mr Burns* I'll be posting more often on the board now as, no doubt, I'll have many questions!
