Cheers guys. I feel like I've just breathed a huge sigh of relief! I'm knackered too. Worked 9 till 5 on it. Want to do another one now though! Anyone want me to do theirs for them?
-
At last! And it's pretty smooth bar a few teething problems. Think there is a boost leak somewhere as there is a whistle at high revs. Can't believe I've done it! Just needs a bumper, a bonnet, and some headlights and I can drive it!
-
 There's actually video evidence of it working that would stand up in a court of law dotted around you tube.
-
I hope you're right Jim and Jon.
-
Cheers guys. You've waited long enough! I think Dukest is the only person on here I've taken out in it thinking about it.

Bl**dy Corrados! It wants to work. It really wants to work. Because if it doesn't I can't be held responsible for my actions. It should count itself lucky that it's not insured at the moment because there a plenty of flammable liquids and sources of ignition in our workshop....

Got the oil pump off today and it was completely fecked. We had to get it in a vice to get it to turn at all and even then it was stiff as hell. The bearing was shot completely. At least I now know that it is just a poorly manufactured pump and nothing stuck in it. Spending my day off tomorrow at work with it on one of the ramps putting it back together. Again. Got a new oil pump, new distributor, and a new woodruff key for the intermediate shaft as we suspect this has been sheared given that there is no damage elsewhere. Haven't taken the sprocket off yet though. Who knows, I don't really want to say it, but it may even be running tomorrow....
-
Well, next Thursday is crunch time. I'm just praying it's just a dodgy pump. I hope nothing has come loose and been sucked up by it. I'm really fed up again. I just want it back. :(
-
Even if we could afford to go anywhere we'd never get there.
-
A girl with a corrado you say?... I'm not in any hurry I suppose. Toad wouldn't fancy me. I'm not furry enough....
-
 Of course I'm gonna take the corrado.... and AA cover, a comprehensive selection of tools, spares, my Bentley manual, and a ditch kit.
-
I might hide the fact that I have a corrado from any prospective girlfriends.
-
Agreed. Are you speaking from experience Yan?!  I'm getting another urge now. I want to go on some mega road trip. Think I might start with a tour of the entire British coast of something. Start in Felixstowe or somwhere and head north all the way up around Scotland, back down the other side of England, along the south coast and back up to Suffolk again. I like the coast. :D

Zidder, you could fit air con to jim's valver. Anyone want to copilot? If I could find a garage for hire in Bury that was reasonable I most likely would keep the G in there and have another but garages round here are ridiculous.
-
You guys are reminding me of what it's like to have a girlfriend! Zidder, I've been contemplating a driving holiday this year. That would be the driving holiday to end all driving holidays. Probably literally! So what happens after Turkey? Jim, I'll buy your Rado. But you have to sign something to say that you'll spend the money on a VR!
-
The only reason I haven't is because I haven't got anywhere to keep it! Well, I could keep it down my mum's road but then I'd have nowhere to keep my G60 when it's finished. I hear what you're saying Rob, but hopefully the G60 won't need any more money. The parts that have gone wrong will be covered under parts warranty. A brand new oil pump shouldn't just seize up. As far as I'm concerned vw can pay for it now. And fortunately my parts department feel the same way. :norty: What would you offer in the way of compensation to said loon who may or may not be willing to drive to Dubai from Europe in one of the world's most unreliable cars?
-
To buy another Corrado. All these cheapies around are just too tempting and now I'm single the voice telling me that two corrados are too many is not there any more!
-
I haven't got a girlfriend anymore. Not sure how much the Corrado contributed to that fact!
-
I hope you're right pete. Not afraid to admit that I have spent a couple of sleepless nights thinking of all the things that could go wrong. It's amazing how you can hate something that you love so much.
-
Not sure mate. Depends how much damage has been done. Not had a chance to have a proper nose yet. Dizzy is fecked though.
-
Here she is. Waiting patiently for the day when I actually get some time to work on her. I'll be so glad to get it done!!!!
-
Cheers Jim, really glad for all the support I've had on here. It's definitely helped. :D Can't wait to catch up with everyone over the summer.
-
Cheers matey, contemplating some holiday soon to get it sorted out....
-
I appear to have perfected the art of uploading pics from my iPhone onto the forum. Haven't got Internet in new flat yet. Car is now where I work. Best place for it. It's been unceremoniously "placed" between a knackered mk3 and a camper. It looks the best. :D
-
Cheers matey. :D Same goes for you. Just so you know I don't feck up other people's cars like I seem to feck up my own. Of course I will be using it!!!! You don't think I've put all this effort and money into it for it to just sit there do you?!
