  1. I know it's a not a V12 but I was walking down Portman Road in Ipswich (where the football ground is) the other day and someone, possibly a footballer, pulled out of the ground in an F430 Spyder and ragged the bejeesus out of it. It sounded sooooo goooood!!!!!!!!!! :D I dread to think what speed he was doing by the time he made the end of the street! Good thing there were no police around....
  2. I've not seen this "Pretty Woman" to which you are referring.... I don't know, it is tempting. But at the moment I'm embarrassed for them. I couldn't bare to look them in the eyes even. Either that or I'd lose my rag because they'll probably just ignore me again.
  3. I always just put it down to the fact they don't feel like they have anything to prove. I don't know. When you're going for a job or something then first impressions matter. You need to make an effort. But when you are going to buy a car why should you? I'm thinking of going back in there today in one of my suits and I bet their attitude would be completely different, even though my bank balance is still exactly the same as it was yesterday. I'm still stewing about it.
  4. I'm liking those wheels! If the Rado is anything to go by that's gonna be a sweet motor. I did all the shows I went to last year in my girlfriend's car too. :? Couldn't really join in with much turning up to E38 in a Gen 7 Celica....
  5. Good lad! What ya got planned?
  6. Cheers for doing that Andy. You are proof positive that not everyone in the industry is complacent and useless. :D
  7. I think I remember that car. Was it on Ebay? I bought my G60 last April and was looking at loads of Corrado adds at around that time. Looks like you put a lot of effort into that car mate. If you're looking to get it back good luck.
  8. That wing mirror is pretty reminiscent of those on the Gallardo....
  9. Order takers are the worst. You expect that level of customer service in a corner shop but not somewhere where you are potentially going to make the second biggest investment of your life after your house. Yeah mate, will be interesting to see what the area manager says.
  10. By all means mate. They can't be allowed to continue like this. It doesn't make sense to do that. I wasn't even that scruffily dressed. Clean jeans, full length Crombie, scarf, new Converse, clean shaven. I had made an effort with my appearance today because I'd called in to my garage and I didn't want to turn up there in my oil stained rags. Maybe it was my age? Maybe they just didn't like my face or something? This is my promise to everyone. When I start with my dealership you can come in covered in mud for all I care and you will get nothing but my best customer service.
  11. Yeah, on my way home I was thinking of all the things I should have said. But I vote with my feet. If a company/business annoys me I don't complain I just make sure I never have anything to do with them ever again. The fact I'm writing an email shows how annoyed I am. I've worked with enough incompetent people to know that it's the ones that get all the complaints that don't listen to them. Oh well, down to Northgate street tomorrow then.... That's great. I have to drive to Bury now instead of just go to the garage that's 5 minutes from my house. You're right stevej, they're not all like this. I was in my garage this morning picking up some brochures and a couple pulled up and hadn't even got out of the car when my colleague was out of their seat. My experience today has just made me more determined to do the job well when I start in a couple of weeks. Judging people by appearance is ridiculous if they are a customer. My girlfriend's parents are minted. And I mean minted. And her dad is the scruffiest man I've ever seen. As are all their Daily Mail reading friends when they're just casually dressed. If anyone it's the salesman that should be judged on appearance, not the customer.
  12. :bad-words: I was gonna post this in Andy665's rocco thread but thought better of sabotaging it with my abject rage. Just been to my local VW. Now, I've only ever heard bad things about them but I always give people the benefit of the doubt. More fool me because I have just been subjected to perhaps the most embarrassing 30 minutes I have had in a long time. I started off by browsing the forecourt. 5 minutes of that and no sign of any one of the four staff coming out to see if I needed anything, I decided to give them a life line and enter the building. To my right was a guy serving a lovely old couple at one of the stations. Directly in front of me were no fewer than 3 execs including the franchise manager, who proceeded to just stand there ignoring me. At that point yet another exec came in from outside, and walked straight past me about 2 feet away, he had a laugh with the other execs, walked past me again, stared out the window for thirty seconds, then walked past me again, then picked up his coat and walked out through the back of the building. I am literally standing ten feet inside the entrance in plain view of everybody. Then the manager walked out back with one of the other execs leaving one at another computer just staring at it. I couldn't believe it. So I just stood there. Looking bored. Looking at my watch as much as possible and tapping my feet. Nothing. The one exec still in plain view of me who wasn't already serving acted like I wasn't even there. The others I could hear laughing out the back about one of the other staff. I just walked in the end. Out of the three VW garages in my area the only one that hasn't annoyed me to the point that I am never going there again is Northgate Street in Bury.
  13. Yeah mate, it's well funny. Most people know it. I keep meaning to get the plate so I can look it up on the database and find out it's one of those 3 cylinder jobbies.
  14. You had no prior knowledge that the car would fail an MOT. And show me a car that wasn't resprayed 15 minutes ago that doesn't have a stone chip on it somewhere. At least if he was angling to get more money back he could have had the balls to just come out and say it. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
  15. What the hell. I'll pop down tomorrow after I've been to my garage to pick up some brochures to give to people where I work now. He he, I'm selling cars to people at my old job before I've finished working my notice there.... :D :D :D
  16. Wolsey in Ipswich wouldn't even take a deposit off me, absolutly useless in there, didn't have any details of the car or seem interested or enthusiastic in any way - I'm going to shoot up to Barnards one day next week as I had a good phone conversation with them this afternoon about it and it looks like they have some data altho nothing they can send out to customers yet... confirmed the deposit will be fully refundable though (£500) Yeah, get yourself down to Barnards mate. If they're saying the deposit is fully refundable (which sounds fair considering no customer has even seen what it looks like yet) I may go and have a word with them after all. I'll just have to sell lots of cars between now and August.... And if after March it turns out rubbish I can always get it back.
  17. I do like the current range. I think the styling of each car is quite nicely tied in and coherent as a whole. Although I was reading that everything is going to get another complete make over after the Passat four door coupe comes out to make the cars simpler to produce. It takes something like twice as long to build a Golf as it does a Focus IIRC. My main concern with the Scirocco is how it will look. I loved the Iroc concept and would like the production car to look just like it, but I know it won't and I'm kind of bracing myself for disappointment in that department. It would be a shame if there is no six pot but the 2.0T would do me anyway....
  18. Have you driven one yet Andy? Think I might wait for an approved used. Some of the spy shots look a bit dodge. Although I may go and have a chat with my VW stealer at the weekend. They're only 5 minutes walk from my front door. :) Will they have any pics?
  19. Yeah, I did miss that. Bl**dy hell. The old girl is doing well! Sounds like they're indestructible if looked after well. You might be on to a winner there mate.
  20. So they do exist then? There's some nice cars on that site. Sound like decent guys. Did they work with Saab before setting up on their own?
  21. Yeah, I hope that Jay got the car. Maybe it was a mystery outsider though....
  22. :iamwithstupid: - Not implying that you're stupid of course timg60 :)
  23. I remember taking a mk2 golf I was doing up over to a mate who is MOT trained and he advised me to do the wish bones as they were so corroded they wouldn't get through. Probably because things like this happen.... Anyway mate, glad you're ok!
