How much has been spent on your Corrado over the past 10 years?
n3p replied to andygal's topic in General Car Chat
Nope, I daren't look! I can imagine the figure to be something very stupid though -
Tuningwerkes are probably the most knowledgeable with VAG cars but not the cheapest. I used to take mine to AJ Turners on Purley Way, who were priced better and still very good. These days I drive to Stealth Racing but if I had a standard VR I'd go back to AJ

I took my carpet to a laundrette and shoved it one of those massive drums - came out like new (and this is a beige carpet!) with no shrinking. Maybe a cheaper alternative for some?
-
I'm liking that steering wheel, I keep wearing through the leather on mine so always nice to see what good alternatives are about. Hope you're enjoying the turbo in this weather - I decided to take my Corrado to work this morning to blow the cobwebs out and it was wheel spinningly fun

Luckily the copper was alone and seemed quite interested in the car I was driving normally down a dual carriageway when I saw a grey BMW 530D Touring come up behind me at a fairly fast pace. Thinking he wanted to try and bully me out of the lane, I decided to shift down and boot it off so he was a spec in my rear view mirror - then the blues started flashing through the grille... oops! All I could do was hold my hands up (not literally), apologising and saying I was just having a bit too much fun on a fast road. Couldn't deny that I wasn't driving like a berk. Aside from the safety spiel and speed limits, he asked to see what I had under my bonnet and asked what top speed I've had out of the car (like I was going to tell him!). Commented on its condition and said that next time I'll get done. Very lucky to have not been prosecuted, and I'll be more careful in the future. I think that if he wasn't alone I would have definitely had some points on my license. Funnily enough yesterday I saw an unmarked little Kia hatchback pull over a different car. Seems that they are using a wider variety of motors these days in South London/Surrey.

Strike one :( Damn unmarked cars!

Started a new job today in Woking, and to my surprise there us a white 16v in the shared carpark (SRP). Anyone here?
-
Cheers yep the Merc is certainly an antithesis of a VRT! After the summer we've had I needed air con in my life Oi oi! What's all this then? Doubt you'll be back in a Corrado after having something a near ten tenths car? Will be interested to see what you've gone for though ;)

Been a while since I've updated, due to having little to report corrado wise - Just been driving the hell out of it. My Don Octane gear set is still being made so once they are done I'll drop it off to Stealth where it can get some cold weather lovin' :norty: This boost lark never gets old! However I have just bought a new daily, some pics if you were interested: It's a 2011 facelift C220 CDI Sport 125 with the AMG kit. Comes with some cool extras including the 7G-Tronic box, Linguatronic, COMAND online system and Magnetite black metallic paint. If you check the classifieds I've got my old daily Mini Cooper for sale. It's a great car but when stuck in traffic on the M25 every day I wanted something automatic, comfortable and with climate control!

I'm with HIC too on some kind of any mod power cap thing. Think I pay around £580, 28yo w/ 7yr NCB and a CR (Croydon) post code. Never had to claim so can't comment there :)

What I want is something like this! [video=youtube_share;IPM8OR6W6WE]

I've tried something similar, although far cheaper - Wolf's Chemicals Nano products I was actually very impressed with the results and got quite a few people asking me what products I used at a show. Although since then I have switched to poorboys standard polish/sealant/wax and prefer the finished result. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/wolf-chemicals-hard-body-nano-sealant/prod_1083.html At £30 it's worth a punt, but at £109 you're havin' a laugh!

Makes sense now :) Sorry, never owned a diesel before! Welcome to the forum

Looks good! What clocks are those? Corrado? Wondering what that squiggle symbol is next to the handbrake light :)
-
Sorry, just remembered this. PM sent

Aye go on then. Gotta rush out so we'll firm things up later on if ok? Cheers, Nick

lol, I tend to avoid launching but from a rolling start on dual carriagways/motorways (and mainly when they start 'giving it') some highlights include: 996 Carrera 4S - completely destroyed multiple times, I'd let him catch up side by side and then we'd both go for it. Got a perplexed thumbs up for that :) Mercedes SL500 - Came steaming up behind me and tried to go for the undertake, shifted down as he got to my side and watched him disappear in my rear view mirror. Funnily enough he kept back after that! Mk4 1.8T - Obviously fettled, intercooler pipework sticking out and sounding fruity, similar to the SL500, but I didn't even shift out of 5th and still pulled away  Driver didn't look happy! E46 M3 - too easy from rolling. It sounded awesome though Another highlight is having fun with a Yamaha R1 on the way to work one morning. Yes, this guy would have absolutely wiped the floor with me but I decided to have a go anyway (I was still very much in the VRT honeymoon phase). Got to silly speeds and all of a sudden he backs off (Outside lane, nowhere for him to overtake). He later catches up with me and follows me in to my office car park. As I get out of the car he approaches and I'm gearing up for a verbal assault, but it turns out he was a petrolhead from my office who came to ask me what the hell I had under my bonnet, and that he only backed off as there were flames popping out of my exhaust  Those are just some that have stuck in my mind. There have been countless GTIs, VXRs, Type Rs, Beemers, etc that have been embarrassed but nothing really worth writing about. I think to most people it looks like a sh*tty old VW. I've also found that most people in exotica don't even want to bother having a play, probably due to that reason. I do remember my maiden voyage from picking the car up from Stealth though. The road leading up to the M40 was fairly busy, and I had some idiot in an Vectra glued to my rear bumper despite there being other cars in front of me. Turn on to the slip road (which was clear), put my foot down and held on for dear life as he vanished from my periphery. That first day that I drove the turbo made all of the money and waiting worthwhile and I'd recommend it to anyone - you will love it! That ballistic surge of boost never gets old :norty: May need to borrow that GoPro now! :) The car has barely broken into a sweat in most of my encounters, although some Caterham variant did come past me once on a twisty road and I couldn't even catch up with it once he took the first corner! In that instance it was I who backed off and did the drive of shame ;) This post may portray me as some kind of road hooligan, but I assure you in most cases it's either been a mutual play or I'm getting harassed from the rear (quiet at the back!)
-
Nope, although a decent recorder like a GoPro is something that I've been meaning to get. More concerned with the audio recording capability though (mounting location would play a big part in this too), so need to do some research unless you could recommend something?
-
I did promise to upload some videos, so I'd better get recording :) Once my new gears are fitted anyway! The VRT has completely shat on so many cars though
-
You know you want to :norty:
-
No idea, but I'd take it if you sell. Been looking for ages!
-
Legend! Thanks mate... PM on the way

Throttlebody pipe keeps popping off, think the clamp is goosed. Ben told I need 80-90mm range which rules out mikalor. Anyone recommend a decent hose clamp I could use? Cheers

BeIge Corrado interior - everything but the seats and door cards - SOLD
n3p replied to chazrad's topic in Parts for Sale
Would be interested in everything apart from carpet and pillar trims (and if the footrests haven't sold then those too). Shame you're far away though, could have sworn you were more local!
