Can't wait to see what you guys achieved. I wish I could of stayed but I wanted to fit the cam etc before today so I can MOT it. Without the cat and the 4 branch it does sound better than before. :) I'm happy so far with the cam too. Yeah Mic we didn't hang around, the car seemed to like the punishment though. :) Well Tom at least it was the vicars daughter and not his wife or son. :) Hopefully we can all catch up in the not too distant future, for more project update chat etc

Sorry I couldn't stay longer but I really enjoyed seeing the car and the rest of the guys. My first drive in a VR6 too. Mic's VR is great fun to drive. The noise was fantastic and it was very punchy. Good luck tomorrow. :) and thanks again Stu for the bits n bobs.

if you use the audi s2 pistons in your engine you will have a much more suitable compression ratio of about 9.0:1 Just putting a 16v head on a pg block will not work. Compression ratio will be too low as you have hinted above.

ah.. oh dear. as Mr Charged said soak it and then get a very good fitting spanner/socket and re-try.

I did it by putting some mole grips around the long neck of the distributor to get better purchase on it when mine was seized t get some leverage. You have obviously undid the 13mm bolt holding the bracket in place right? Not taking the pi$$ just checking.

Hah. :)

bleeding the master brake cylinder helped mine a great deal.

the injectors are earthed through the ecu electronically to fire the injectors. You can check that you have 12 volts to the rail with a multimeter obviously

yeah. 8)

Removing the inlet manifold is not the most fun you will ever have working on your car tbh. I have removed the head with it on and with it off. Both methods have their draw backs. Are you a slight person? It will help if you are. Not alot of hand arm room back there. :)

..man your going some now. Your officially out of hibernation. thanks for the engine porn. :)

Did you do this yourself?......is this possible to do at home or am i best to bite the bullet and book it in somewhere? That sounds like a parts and labour price. You will need to take the gearbox off.Not everyones cup of tea to be done at home on the driveway. -
check the idle screw hasn't come out at the back of the throttle.

eurosports wrc program... I know kimi is heading the other way but I didn't know that sebastian was eying up F1. That would be cool.

James May. Quality. I love topgear.
-
anyway... why no pics? slacking. :)
-
oww.. well the money is spent now. That's what i tell myself. So you may as well get on and fit them and worry about it later. :)
-
..blimey.

Not so sure on that one matey. I'd want to see that with a timing gun before I believed it. :) Knock sensors are just passive devices, unless the ecu's are looking for the background noise they produce under normal running?!?
