if you cant afford £500 then why are you doing a g60 conversion? G60`s cost money,,,,
-
as gaz says, your water / oil heat exchanger / cooler has died, get yourself down to gsf for a new one they are only about 40 sheets,, make sure your local garage change this first,, as i have seen many a headgasket changed when this is infact the fault,, dont drive it about before then either,,
-
fancy coming to the nurburgring at the end of july with us lot henny? if not we will also be doing a day at donnington oct november time when teh prices come down,,,,
-
M10 X 1MM MALE FITTINGS you will need about 2 rolls of 3/16 copper nickel brake pipe
-
yeap nearest the wing towards the front, if you remove the bottom half of the airbox form teh car and put it on teh bench you should be able to simply with a bit of force pull that trumpet right out,,
-
i think jim went a bit overboard,, tis a tidy job none the less and definitley improved the car thing to do is make sure you only drill it so that its getting air from the cold side,, my preferance would be just a couple of large holes say 70mm diameter as it looks allot more professional than the "swiss cheesing" ......................... on my g60 i just sunk an 80mm hole in the bottom above wher ethe carbon cannister used to be,, lots of nice cool air comes up from this location,, and whipped the trumpet out of the front of the box,, seems to go well enough,,
-
g werks can also get you h&r`s sepeartely
-
I`m sure you`ll find it loud enough,, mine aint quiet thats for sure... if you must use a cone filter, make sure you clean and oil it at the same frequency you change the Engine oil,, Clean air is one of the most important things for a G Lader,,
-
its one of my 2 ltr engines,, dave crissel cyl head, shrick cams, 4 branch 2.5 inch exhaust, 9a 2 ltr bottom end, fully balanced and lightened with Scat conrods,, its a revvy beast, only just finished running it in so no power figures yet but should be circa 185 - 195 bhp,, WMS tuned,,
-
paper filter only on a G,, keeps your charger nice and clean inside!! just keep it changed frequently,, if you wanna increase your available air, try a twin inlet airbox from Edition 1 on this forum.... and remove the carbon cannister and open up teh bottom of teh airbox in this location so you get a nice cold air feed beneath,,
-
yeah if it comes loose just whip teh cv joint off so you can remove the swine and chuck it in the bin,,
-
may be best just getting darren to do the lot, he doesent charge allot to do an r1 and he is only just across the water from you and you know it will be first class
-
always accidents there,, mind you tehre are so many people going out each day its just statistics i am off over there on teh 19th july - 25th july cant wait, was great fun last year just gotta take it easy and not try to break any records and its fine :D nasty old spill that there though
-
its not quite as simple as this crasher,, when the engine is on a slow idle you may very well see the pulley wobbling about as the harmonic damper is doing its job, take the rev`s up to about 2000 rpm and then look at the pulley,, if its still wobbling then you may have a problem,, if not its probably fine,, cant be too safe with these crank bolts as they are a known problem on these cars,, so posters your right to be inquisitive on here,, do a search on G60 crank bolts there is allot of usefull information regarding them,, think there is an old thread i replied to ono here somewhere,, i`ll hunt it out,,
-

G60 8V Oil Temps Skyrocketing 210 DEGREES
olly elworthy replied to Cylinder_Head's topic in Engine Bay
dont worry too much about a magical ohms setting for the co pot,, just make sure it is at about 450 - 500 ish and if you want it set up properly you need a co meter or better still an AFR wideband,, its the only way,, -
need european mapping on it too,, any ideas ? speed camera locations would be good too,, 8)
