i hear they were trying to get there house in order right up to the last minute.
  4. Sad to see any car manufacturer filing for bankruptcy, maybe it was because they put the ignition in the wrong place? Anyway was that head of Saab paid a bonus each time in his press release he launched into a well known song about a YMCA? Youngman! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16242115 Ok so I''m bored on my daily commute...:-S
  5. Hi robbie, if the r32 goes without a swap then give me a shout if you want to view my storm. It's going to be garage for the winter by which time I will know if I'm keeping or selling her. Shame I missed your proposal by a week and got a mk4 r32 last week! Cheers, Jon.

I trust you are finding the corrado community as enjoyable as the R32 Macdaddy? Very much looking forward to the Mk4 R32, always wanted one, just like the corrado VR6. My mates dad was a car trader back when i passed my test ..cough @#20@#...years ago now and my mate used to pull up in a different car each week that they were selling on. The ones that always stuck in my mind were a Mk1 Golf Gti (Lhasa Green) and a Corrado VR6 (Mystic Blue). So after learing to drive in a fiesta my first purchase was a Golf Mk1 Gti (Lhasa Green) replaced by a 99 Golf Mk4 GTi Turbo (Blue), then an 01 Golf Mk4 V5 (Silver), 01 Mk4 GTi Turbo (Silver), Corrado VR6 Storm (Mystic Blue). Arriving shortly 53 MK4 R32 (Silver). Some pictures to follow.

Hi guys, taken me a few years to post into the members gallery so about time I added something. The Corrado comes in first. My first experience of a Corrado following a succession of Golf's and has turned out to be the car i have kept the longest. Had put her up for sale for reasons i'll explain shortly, but for now and maybe for a longer while yet she is staying with me. )
  12. Have you done something to the lovely CR32 kev, or just collecting spares? ;-)
  13. http://www.netgadgets.co.uk/product/80/cc07/cc07-double-slanket-ruby-wine.html Thats the wife's xmas pressie sorted then! The WTF look on her face would be worth the money!
  14. Heater controls you say? yes please sir.
  15. Mine is still up for grabs at the moment - No one fancy it? :)
  16. Much as i'd like to believe that a DeLorean is a amazing as i thought it was when i first watched the films as a boy I imagine its more likely to be a http://www.firebox.com/product/2351/****-Box
  17. I do have A/C - the after market Diavia system though so i'm not sure if that makes a difference.? Sorry Matt, borrowing your thread for a minute. Back to your sale shortly. )
  18. Me to! I may need someone assistance with this as i don't want to break anything! Anyone nearby with time and confidence to tackle this?
  19. Ok. thanks for checking and confirming Matt.
  20. Heater motor & switches please Matt as i'm looking to make sure mine is 100%. PM sent. Jon
  21. Not a bad idea that Alex, he never uses the bloody thing. Next time they are out of the country I'll take the jag out and stick the corrado under his cover! Sure he won't notice. Joking aside storing for a couple of years May work out a treat for me. Cheers for the detailed advice all.
  22. Great advice guys, thanks. Really appreciate the details or what to do as i haven't a clue. I did store a Mk1 Golf Gti once while i was away travelling for 6 months and the car started first time with no ill effects but the Corrado is a different beast. I'm starting to like the idea of this now. Just need to persuade the old man to get rid of his Mk2 Jag so i can put the Corrado in his garage.
  23. thanks for your experience on this Jamie. I'll be doing some searching on here robrado as you suggest but will still be interesting to hear what others also have to say about it if they haven't posted before Cheers. Jon
  24. So the more I read on here it does seem that many of you sell a Corrado and then eventually come back and buy another. I do love my Storm but after 6 years I've had an itch and wanted to try something else for a few years. The market is not the best so although there has been interest i think i've spent more time enjoying discussing the great cars with potential buyers than i've had serious offers. To that end it's making me think more about storing the car & trying a few others out, (really fancy an R32, decent Mk4 would do). So does anyone else on here know the pro's and cons of storing a corrado? I dont have a clue. I guess i can register SORN for storing it and it would be covered and garaged. What should you then do? Insure it off road and start it up once every couple of weeks? Will it do i more harm than good not to run it around? how much less is insurance? As she's a Storm (I know, just a VR6 with a badge! ) ) she'll still hopefully hold a value in years to come so i'm not worried about that too much, just how to store her in the best way while I work out that nothing else is actually that great but at least i'll have had fun trying other cars and then still have the Corrado to come back to. Any advice please from anyone who has or is doing something similar? Jon
