Hi, can you help me with my top mounts, they have looked like this since i replaced the suspension and everything is new, have i got the top bush in the wrong way round or something???
-
i just replaced my coilpack and leads and i really had to pull hard to get the leads off the coilpack, and all but one snapped the tip off where that little metal clip is? the new leads are on pretty tight but i'm worried if the coilpack goes again i will destroy the new leads too? anybody else had this problem?? i was being carefull, honest! :?
-
turned out to be a broken coil pack but took a while to diagnose after messing with the leads, i have since made a tool for removing the leads and am going to replace plugs and leads aswell while i am at it Thanks for the help
-
does anybody happen to know the part number of the late vr6 coil-pack, and what other coil packs are interchangable, is the 2.8 sharan coil-pack the same? i heard about there being ones with an oval electrical connector and some with a rectangular one? Thanks
-
ok i found a loose sparkplug with the lead not on it very tight so thought i found the problem, but the problem is still there i cant see any cracks in the coil-pack but when i have the ignition on just one click i can hear the coil pack making a fizzing noise, do u thing its arcing?

i forgot to add, if you keep your foot on the pedal in one position it will kangaroo about now and then as the cylinder that is down temporarily kicks back into life . . .

Ok my vr is miss-firing, the temp gauge seems to be reading a low, but there is no mayo in the oil and i am not loosing any fluids? my silencers however where painted in an industrial high temperature paint i used from work, this has been fine for well over a year, all of a sudden i can smell the paint, which suggests the exhaust is un-naturally hot so to sum it up, its miss-firing and i dont believe its the cylinder head, its also running cooler than usual and the exhaust hotter i think??? :confused4: i have not checked the plugs yet because i dont have the tool for getting to the leads. . any help would be greatly appreciated as its my daily driver and i really need it!!

nice car, loving your wheels, you sold them yet? and how much u going to be selling them for!

will new VAG wheel studs fit my rado? im thinking there all the same? made a mess of my locking studs!
-
sorry if this has been documented before but a few days ago when i turned the ignition on a small puff of smoke wondered up from behind the steering wheel. anyway as is usually best with a corrado problem i convinced myself it was just some dust and pretended it never happened, unfortunately it happened a few more times and fearing a horrible electrical fire i decided it best to pull the steering column to bits. so, after a lot of arsing about i traced it back to the wiper stalk mechanism, it was actually giving off a spark at the contact points when you turn the ignition (and as i found with my investigating when you wiggle the wiper stalk) and burning its way through some of the plastic (bad times). i bodged about with it for a bit and now it dosent seem to be doing it for the moment, needless to say i will be getting a replacement and swapping it out as soon as possible. so has anybody else had this trouble? is it a design flaw? i probably should have taken a picture of it before i put everything back together :?

Saw a dark green c with dark tinted rear lights near Bangor in Wales this morning, think there was a VW meeting or something because i saw loads of campers around there

its not gone weird since, but this is because i just dont have abs at the moment, i cant seem to get vag-com to read the abs either!
-
Naturally my MOT is due next month so the corrado went into self destruct! Basically one day i set off, got to the end of my street and the abs went psycho and the pump was making all kinds of noises and the pedal pumped up an vibrated a bit if i recall. it went back to being ok for a few hours and then did it again, my abs light has been on ever since, if anybody has any clues it would be greatly appreciated! It really is a love / hate relationship with these cars :(

i have a squeak comming from around the aux drive belt area and i have decided its the tensioner wheel bearing from other posts i have read, i also got the bearing needed to replace it from the knowledge base article, but my question is before i start replacing it can anybody confirm if when i put it back together i will have to set the tension or is it none adjustable? i ask because i dont want to drive round in fear that its going to be to tight and snap or loose and fall off!!
-
as bolton is near manchester i assumed it was that one, strange coincidence! anyway it dissapeared a month or so ago, which was annoying as i was gonna see about buying it!!
-
did this used to be sat on a little country pub carpark near me in bolton, the brake calipers and disks had become 'as-one' and all sorts of bits wer piled on the seats!!! i kept meaning to go in and ask about it and then one day it was gone! could be another very similar one .. .
-
i predict its not an easy one either!!! looks nice tho
