Thanks Steve. Just had a look at GSF site and can see it there. BTW car died on me yesterday. When I got into it noticed the speedo lights weren't as bright as normal. Got round the corner and at the junction and it just died. Pushed it to the side and called the AA. They'll be there in 2 1/2hrs!! Got a mate out who jump started it, it fired up straight away and as soon as I turned the lights on it was about to cut off. I drove it for about 1/4 mile and it died again. In the end just towed it. Is there a sure whay of knowing if its the alternator or just the regulator? Cheers Amit

Thanks guys. I'll check that. Steve, where are these voltage reg/brushes. Are these the ones on the side of the alternator held by 2 philips screws? Cheers Amit

Oh yeah forgot you had delocked handles. Have you tried calling other alarm dealers?

Hi Ross, I have a '94 16v and I have full closure. BTW I have elec tilt/side roof with Clifford Concept 600 alarm. Its bo!!ox you can't use full closure on cars with tilt/slide sunroofs, most cars have elec tilt/slide roofs and they have no problems. Probably a good idea not to take your car there mate. This works on my dads BM also with elec windows and ilt/slide roof not sure if it will with the C but give it a go. Open the sunroof and windows and put the key in to lock the door as you normally would do but hold the key in that position do the windows and sunroof close? Another point, an alarm is only as good as the fitter who fits it. Clifford alarms are good if fitted correctly but they are quite a hard alarm to fit. Make sure you get it done from someone who comes recommened. Other alarms to look into are Sigma and Meta come well recommended. HTH PS corradog60supercharged, The intellistart only cost £100 extra? Have they fitted it so it doesn't start up if in gear? Needed on C as the handbrake is sh!te

I don't know if this is related to previous message ( http://www.atx-hosting.co.uk/~ccgb/foru ... .php?t=244 ) but the battery light just started to come on recently. I did have a flat battery last week if thats of any use, fairly new battery its just that the car had been sitting around for 3 weeks. Jump started it and all was ok. It starts first time everytime no hesitation but the battery lights still on. I've checked the bushes in alternator and seems ok from what I can make out. Any help much appreciated.

LOL, wouldn't want the blouse to shrink in the rain now would I

Thanks guys. I'll look into it if it ever stops raining. I'll start with the 'easy' bits like heated washer jets and reverse lights first.

Guys, I need some help please. My windows don't work at all and neither do the mirrors. The switches don't even light up. Had a look at the fuses and Fuse 14 which controls reverse lights, mirrors and heated washer jets is blowing like a whore [;)] each time I start the car. I can't understand why this effects the windows. Anyone know what to look for? BTW the car is a '94 Corrado 2.0 16v. Thanks in advance. Amit

Had this happen once, lets just say I needed a clean pair of boxers fast!! Like Nigel said, definitey check the battery, bet the terminal has just come loose. Get a big hammer, knock it down so it sits tighter and tighten up the nut. HTH Amit

Hi Ross, I've done this mod. Should point out you'll need remote central locking but you probably know this already. You'll need to remove door card to unplug the handle central locking wiring. If you place the Passat rear handle and C handle side by side they are very similar apart from the length of the striking pin. Couple of ways round this, first is to modify the Passat handle by carefully bending the pin with a pliers so its the same as the C handle. Second, the way I did it, was to use the Passat rear lock mechanism. This bolts straight up and the handle requires no modifying, you'll probably have to make fine adjustemnts to the lock mechanism (there's a screw on the reverse of the mechanism you can adjust the striking plate) and there should also be a white plastic bit on the striking pin to adjust length of striking pin by screwing up or down. Its dead eay, if I can do it anyone can. When you put it back together pack with grease and watch out for the parent lock if you decide to go with rear mechanisms! Let me know if you have any questions or problems. HTH Amit

Need a non vag serviing recommendation in north west london
Rado16v replied to Adam M's topic in Suppliers Forum
Hi Adam, if you still need a garage in NW London give Yaash motorsport a try http://www.yaash.co.uk Haven't personally used them but others have recommended them. HTH Amit -
How you doing Sukh? The headlight switch is quite a common problem on C's anyway as you propbably already know. You just may have been very unlucky :( Otherwise, yours would have originally come with US spec headlights (you think Euro headligts were bad!!) From memory it looks like yours have been upgraded to Euro, thing is you can't just drop in Euro headlights - the wirings different so it would have been modified. I'd get the wiring checked out first mate and definitely upgrade with the loom. Worth bearing in mind it may already have one when the conversion was done. HTH Amit

Ross, two ways of upgrading to the G60 280mm discs. The cheapest is to source Audi UR Quattro carriers, they bolt straight on to the standard calipers and allow you to fit the bigger discs. You will need G60 discs and NOT VR as the VR is 5 stud, can't remember which pads will work though whether the original 16v or G60. Get in contact with this guy: ur quattro - caliper carriers..allows the use of 280mm discs on late golf 16v and corrados...only a few sets left... £65 inc carriage...credit cards welcome... mailto:[email protected] - (pembrokeshire) Alternatively, you can replace the calipers AND calipers to G60. They will bolt on but obviously cost more. HTH Amit
