  1. yep - agree Kev - have your fun and bug out (Top Gun phrase?). No point racing along for mile after mile. It'll just get silly and one of you, or both, will get busted or busted up.
  2. fair play mate - happy for you. Now get that car situation sorted!! Personally, I'd throw your net open and check out other makes/models. Audi S2? or S3 maybe. Keep us up to date though Laters
  3. was easing through esso forecourt to get out on to road. Two jap drift type yokes parked up with owners sat inside staring out at their 'rides'. Young lad walks past front of VR, cue big smile & double thumbs up. He proceeds to walk straight past the two jap yokes parked right by the door in their 'look at my car' spots  and completely ignored them
  4. fair play on the police getting stuck in so quick - shut me up :ignore: Funny how, reading back through above, the amount of times the scum will just revert to thrashing the car, rather then really trying to take it. Mate had is VR completed kick in and the interior torn to shreds. They'd tried to start it, but battery was flat as pancake, so they must've got p!ssed and took it out on the car. I couldn't belive the damage. You could tell they'd just thought 'f#ck this, we're gonna tear this to bits' F#CKING ANIMALS :censored: Again, hope you get the new door soon and make sure these pr!cks don't win....if you know what I mean
  5. 'FU#K' and 'THAT'. Sat here with hand over mouth in shock :pale: Can't belive the pr!ck that did this is walking round breathing our air. I was thinking may be a druggy looking for a quick buzz and assumed prob no alarm as it's an old car?? Can't (well don't want to) imagine it was a possible steal for parts to flog later on ebay?? Tom, absolutly gutted for you. Fingers crossed you get the new door quick sharp and get back on the road. As for justice...can't see plod being too fussed unfortunatly
  6. pops 993 C2S - he still won't let me drive it! Also, a nice guards red 964 near train station I see most mornings. Ubér cool old guy driving it with big smile on his face. Probably 'cus I wave to him everytime!
  7. Will the V-Maxx coilovers currently on my VR fit onto a Mk4 Golf????? Thanks!!!
  8. god damn you man!! PICS :bad-words: well done on the new car - many happy miles ahead
  9. oh yeah, I jumped out, saw the glow and thought, 'Yeah baby! Damn I'm good'!! On reflection, it's more....''oh wait....kneel's down and attempts to blow it out.....SH!T SH!T! SH!T!
  10. Anyone else reckon the new GTi is in fact stunning? ............and that kit is as standard :norty: Maybe you guys have seen loads of them already both on the road & in reviews etc, or I've missed all the fan-fare  , but here in Ireland, I've not seen anyway, or any decent pics / reviews...so it's kinda sneaked up and Tango'd me a bit
  11. thanks guys :salute: due to finance issue - ie no money  - i reckon it'll be case of get her home (mate's got a trailer) then sit tight till pay day :(
  12. so, car felt bit odd on way to work with nasty acrid smell. Got to carpark, jumped out and drivers brake area glowing red and steaming :pale: Phoned a mate and he reckon'd i needed the following; brake caliper seal replacement kit & caliper pistons I don't doubt the advice, just wondering where's best place to get them? Delivery to Ireland. 'Volkbits' maybe?? Also - I take it driving home is not a good idea? (15min drive)
  13. Hey Philie - where do you get this '5% bio' stuff - and what the hell is it! like a fuel additive yoke?
  14. cheers guys - reckon it's new rear bushes then. what kind've labour we talking to get the new bushes in. 2hrs? more? Just trying to gauge how much I'm looking at having to spend. thanks :salute:
  15. Already trying to arrange a viewing ;)[/quote:3s5bqcvk] Wow! that's some 'potentially' amazing car there. It's amazing how quickly your mind says 'dodgy' when you see a few things in a car ad  Like the far away pictures (what's he hiding :bad-words:  ) no interior shots etc... prob a very straight car, and to be honest Pat, if mileage + usual suspect issues all prove fine - that's not a bad price......if you get it for 3,850
  16. Right - that's enough (says every Liverpool fan in the World!) but seriously, I'm looking for advice and how to, cheaply, remedy my suspension woes. In May of last year, I replaced original knackered, but comfortable, springs for V-maxx adjustable Coilover kit. Reason for Coilover option over other types...Unknown. Seriously :brickwall: Now, is there anyway, without big spend, I can get an improved ride quality while maintaining a lowered stance? Not super low, just not Go-Go Gadget car high. As far as I know the coliovers are set near their highest, although the front seem fairly low, the back I thought could be a smig lower, but this is where the main 'crashy' feel comes from. I'm pretty sure the rear axle bushes have not been done - I understand this can help? Have thought of removing and selling the v-maxx and using the cash to get a new set-up in and pay for the labour. Not sure of the logistics of this though  Like I said - trying to remedy this without breaking the bank. Help!
  17. congrat's on the car - a wise choice sir!! funny you mention removing the coilovers - I'm 'approching' 40 :) and I foolishly bought coilovers last May - and now want them off the car - ride quality is just too harsh - and it definatly IS an age thing
  18. Hey mate! better not be the Green Storm you had me buy off that eldery gentleman back in Nov '09  Nah! just kidd'n  she's going like a dream mate - only repair since then was rear bearings - not bad eh! thanks again and best'a luck with your search - the right one's out there - a bit've graft and a sprinkle of luck and you'll be away
  19. 'Chuftie', now with added boner
  20. spot on Mr Sands, it's allowing the distance you can actually see ahead, to be equal to or less then that in which you can come to a stand still. Barrel'n into a corner blind is something I've tried to remove from my driving. I'd like to think I don't do it at all anymore, but not sure it's 100% yet  I'm a big beliver (or is that Belieber? :ignore: ) in enjoying your car's performance, but again, without sounding like a Headmaster, there's a time and a place :D For example, I had the VR out all last week but just popping down to the local train station and back, never went above 40/50mph the whole week. Then reckoned she could do 'clearing her throat' after being sat up for few weeks. So got her up to correct temp on the motorway, waited till no cars in front r behind and slowly opened it up to low three figures. Had a blast, well chuffed and sensibly brought the car home and tucked her up for the night. That said, luckly I didn't come across any punks looking for a quick race :brickwall:
  21. anyone know the name of these particuler alloy wheel. Ad says there RVS's?? Reckon they look pretty good - not normally my cup'a tea cheers http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/2308878.htm
  22. that's god enough for me! cheers mate :salute:
  23. ABS light has popped back on - yes, it's annoying, but could it be telling the truth this time? :brickwall: I've applied the brakes on a quite and safe stretch of road which was sheet ice at the time. I didn't feel any 'assistance', just foot down and the not so nice feeling of sliding forward. Should there be a vibration type sensation similier to the gf's '07 Golf? cheers
