Side note - Octane.ie (Irish car wesite) host a car meet first Sunday every month. Always packed with stunning cars and well worth a visit. Let me know if any you would be keeno.

my brothers GF now doing this. Hilarious. She gets home, tells him what car she saw, then gives out to him for making her see then!!! the wife, slightly less so, ''there's a pan-cake car coming up behind us'' refering to a gorgeous yellow Lotus Esprit  -
that's bril! A chufie with rock solid hard copy evidence to prove  Mild chufie yesterday evening - cruising along in slow lane. Motorbike dude rolls slowly by giving it the extra large thumbs up and nodding helmat head  Reckon we all get this loads so, like I said mild chuftie - still cool though 8)

extreme??? Obessive??? on this site???  mate, it's fair to say we all signed off on that when we bought these cars! my new thing is dusting down the, ahem, official car mats, so when I look over to the passenger one it's pristine, added to the clean clutter free cabin, get the whole 'new car' impression.... :help: Next I'll be walking down the street like Jack Nicolson in 'As good as it gets' Back on topic - friend of mine had an audio proximity sensor thingy that buzzed if you walked near the car. Would maybe get the person to consider the car is there first before they smash their door into it. I'd re-prog mine to sound like the 'Family Fortunes' buzzer..URR'URR! -

Finally got to get my hands on the VR yesterday after it being sat up in my parents gaff for 2weeks + garage for 2 weeks. Took all the empty boxes that had the new parts in them, out've the car. Coilovers / Milltek/ headunit / plugs leads etc. Got the big extension cable out and started the hoovering up process. Lots of dust, astro pitch stuff! and dead flies everywhere! Removed the spare wheel - this may come back to bite me in the ass! Reason unknown, possible weight save???!  oh dear! Then checked the new parcel shelf fitted. Pefect! And it has the ready cut holes for me new 6x9's...their proppa trick in'nit! So big shout out to follow forum member for that. Big'up ya self! Then the all important wash using for the first time Simonez tablets, just 'chuck it in'a bucket' version. Which I did. And they're not great to be honest. Still prefer the Tutle wax shampoo. Handy tip. Just pour some of the shampoo direct onto the sponge. Works a treat. Dried her off, and noticed loads of new marks/scratches :censored: But stood back and looked at the finished product and was well chuffed! Nicely lowered, milltek gleaming in the sun, as was the car. Interior all clean and new. And the new Sony headunit is a huge improvement. So much so, I'm wondering why I got the Pioneer 6x9's now :cuckoo:  Can't wait to get back in the car after work and drive home......simple pleasures eh! might even go the long way.... :salute: -

+1 have pretty much given up on it now the amount of dents. Used to get mega mega p!ssed off with this happening. Now, it's a case of just accept that in a few months time I'll save up and get the dents taken out. Then I'll be doing everything possible to safe guard against it starting over again. The clip-on side bumper things would work, but reckon you'd find people being even more careless and really giving it some welly with their doors into yours. I just got my Storm back yesterday and after it's first good wash since return from garage have noticed a hand sized area of 'sand paper type scratchs' on the roof :censored: reckon someone just left a heavy box on the roof that had dirt/grit on the bottom, then just dragged the box off the roof instaed of lifting it. and also a weird 'snail with acid tail trail' mark over the front driver wing :bad-words: I've no idea what did it, but reckon it was the garage again :mad2: my only way of re-dressing the balance, in my mind at least!!, is to keep her clean, keep her looking awesome and keep it on the road. I reckon alot of these dings are caused by doosh-bags who can't bare to see a dude, or dudess, driving a nice car, and decide to be a little extra heavy handed when it comes to getting in or out of their rep mobiles/bland euroboxes. -
Calling all Mummies & Daddies - Maxi Cosi Tobi Car Seat....
sprinterVR6 replied to M15 VW's topic in General Car Chat
Prob not much use, but we have the Maxi Cozy 'Pebble' seat, and it fits in perfectly the wifes more modern car is more difficult to fit it  -
Great post and sums up the mystique (and 'classic', sorry, had to!) bond that these cars have with their owners. Although recently, I've a feeling that the car in fact owns us! Just to say, I've withstood the desire to have a spin in pops 993 C2S for fear it would somehow lessen the 'rado experiance, same with my Bro's Renault 5 GT Turbo, just didn't want to get in the VR and feel any kind of drop in power/feel etc. As you point out Doc, I think I've been doing a big dis-service to the C. Could be a case of never meet your hero's i guess......

I think we're all in the right area with the RS6 & RS4avant, so I'll throw my oar in with this........this car makes me feel funny when I see it :luvlove:

Donjon's classic green storm. Return from yorkshire...

sounds promising mate. yeah, let us know how things progress over the weekend. I'm gonna take it that although my Milltek is a 'ickle bit noisey, maybe I'll get a performance trade off?? Like yourself, I'll have to wait to find out  cheers mate -
the huge price of road tax mate is down to your engine size. So a little 1.1 will cost about £180 per year, whereas anything even over 3.0litres will cost about £1,390 a year!! Why? well simple really, the people who run this country are simple minded begruding c#nts, I underline begruding 'cus that's it in a nut shell, they can't stand someone wanting to drive round in a nice car, so in a way just owning and driving a VR is a beautiful two finger salute to the lot've of them. Slightly bitter you say?? you should try running/maintaining a decent performance car over here...it requires lots of money and lots of patience, which is funny, 'cus I now have fook all of both

i reckon this happens to us all everytime, but..had just picked the VR up from garage after treating it to a boob job and some singing lessons....coilovers & milltek  , I didn't laugh at the sodding garage bill though :pale: and where was my first port of call? yep, straight to the petrol station round the corner! a young gentleman was checking the car out corner of his eye while I was filling up, went inside and he proper gave it the walk around, even the cupped hand peering in the window trick. very very well put sir. Spare a thought for us here in Ireland. Annual road tax for VR is over £900 :brickwall: and the roads are an absolute disgrace :bad-words:

New Milltek system just fitted...does it 'settle down'?
sprinterVR6 replied to sprinterVR6's topic in Engine Bay
cheers guys. i guess it's more be-fitting the cars performance, unlike the Saxo/Corsa bodykit crew! I did, i think!, feel an increase in pull when doing 65/70mph in 5th, just a slight press on the wow-wow pedal and it started to pull away a bit more easier then before  ....again, this is very much open to interpretation  -
sorry mods if this is repeated elsewhere - it's just a quick one. Just wondering if the exhaust note changes in tone/volume from new to when it's 'worn in' so to speak. cheers

Hey mate - so you got the Jetex? Nice one. Is it the 3 box version? Meant to be bit quieter then the 2 box. I could have that the wrong way round! My new exhuast system is on now.....but it's Milltek! there was a huge delay in the Jetex, so I ended up going for the Milltek as they offered me a nice discount for goodwill. I'm really interested to see what your thoughts are on your Jetex once she's up and running. Only driven mine for about 20mins, but find the exhaust note a bit more 'there' then I thought it would be. Best a luck mate... :salute: -
i think this is a touch of the 'Dragon' Green eyed monster  y'all just Storm hater's!

bit've a silly one this, but just thought I'd see if I'm missing something. Just installed brand new Sony headunit 4x52watts. Now looking to hook it up to some new Pioneer 6x9's on rear parcel shelf. Will the 6x9's come with the wiring+other bits from the headunit to the speakers? Does it need to be diff quality wire to what is probably the standard/original wiring???? Or is it simply a case of disconnecting the standard rear speakers and plugging into the new 6x9's??

Just Supersized my order..(also Jetex warning)..
sprinterVR6 replied to sprinterVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I guess I've been sucked into the 'Miltek is superior' crowd  anyone know any major difference / advantage over the Jetex  Reckon there's prob not a whole lot - it was just that they were doing a deal for me and I'd have it on Thurs - so grabbed it. I do hear the Jetex stuff is very very quality. -

V-maxx coilovers fitted on Saturday  - car looks nuts now - should've got some shots of the car as it was being reversed out've garage - will get them when the exhaust is going on! Can't report on ride quality yet as the drive back home is all of 40secs and was at granny speed. Wanna wait till all the stuff is on the car before I test said suspention and exhaust note  -
well that was a nice surprise. I'd ordered the Jetex 2 box full system on 8th May through the good people at Venom. Turned out the Jetex factory in Sweden were completely out've stock and I'd be waiting till 28th May for delivery :gag: They have now offered to send me the Miltek system instead and only for a tiny mark-up in way of goodwill gesture :salute: reckon anyone ordering Jetex for Corrado could be in for a long wait.. :confused4:
