  1. Since it was light outside (light? During the day?! Blasphemy!) I got these good pics to show how much lower it is. Before: After: It's not a crazy drop, but it's enough to make me happy.
  2. I arrived home from class tonight to find two big packages sitting inside of my front door. I tear them open like a kid of Christmas morning. Are those.... Shiny new FK coilovers?! They ARE shiny new FK coilovers! Guess which side has them on and which doesn't? My old, junky stock towers with Neuspeed springs LOWER!!!! Too low for the driveway. I'm sure some of you are asking "SO you said there were too packages. What was in the other?" Well, I'll tell you. Bubblewrap and a 16V head!
  3. 33 mpg? That's it? That's pretty much normal for me
  4. Yeah, I'm delirious and not thinking straight. I just figured that out. I basically have just the metal outlet. Where can I get the rest of the stuff at?
  5. I just got my RSR outlet from Bahn Brenner, and I'm working on installing it and just wanted to make sure I had the right idea. It goes between that black silencer box and the supercharger, is that right? I mean, I can't really see any other way that it would fit on there, or am I missing something?
  6. On the 'tex there's a thread about the funny things your Corrado has done, so I thought I'd try to start this up over here because some of the stuff is funny and it makes me feel better about my car  Thread for reference So here's a list of a few of the funny things my Corrado has done. 1. Rolled across a parking lot after I left it in gear. 2. Caught fire. 3. Wheel fell off (see figure 1) 4. Caught fire again. 5. Ran for a bit 6. Sunroof switch started working backwards? 7. Rear wiper washer jet cover thingy broke off so it would shoot straight in the air 8. I was driving and I heard a snapping from the roof of the car. I look out the rear windshield to see the antennae rolling away on the road behind me. Fig. 1:
  7. Those seem to pop up pretty frequently.
  8. I finally sold my Porsche, so I now have money!!! My main priority is going to be finishing my 16V G60, but I'm also looking at either wheels or coilovers. The wheels I'm looking at are $150 each, then I have to put tires on those, which will probably be the same price as the wheels. The only thing wrong with the wheels I have now is that they are 15", need new paint, and EVERYONE out here has them. These are the wheels I'm looking at: My other option are coils. I'm looking at two sets: One would be discounted to $550 because the guy selling them is in my local club, the other are a set of $1200 Koni's that one of my friends has on his and he swears by. Nothing is wrong with the suspension I currently have on it, except for the strut bearings and I just ordered new ones. The only thing I have against lowering it: Yup, thats my driveway and my car in current 4x4 status. What would you guys go with? Here's the car in question, in case some don't know it: I posed this question to my local group and they told me the car was a hopeless case and I need to stop putting money into a car as old as me. Shows how much they know :?
  9. What fog? I dunno, but had your lights on! Lots of great wallpaper material. 8) Haha. We always drive with parking lights/fog lights on during the day. I've also got a ton of them saved as my wallpaper. Yay for Macbooks being able to change wallpapers randomly ever five minutes!!!
  10. What fog? Thanks. The night shots came out quite good, I was surprised. I'm fine with you adding me as a contact, so long as you don't mind getting the notification that mine has been updated almost every day  Thanks... I think I will try to submit some for the calendar! The twin headlights are an aftermarket thing. I'm not sure if you guys have them over there... They're called quad-rounds.
  11. At approximately 4:00 this afternoon (July 7th), I have owned my Corrado for one year, and I still haven't killed myself! Yay! I know a lot of people are always looking for G60's (first mistake), so I wanted to take a moment to put everything into perspective. One year ago, $2800 got me this: I drove to the other side of Chicago to get it. The add said that it ran, everything worked, and it could be driven home. The PO said that he had owned it for three years and never insured it because he couldn't afford it. But when we got there, it did run fine, though it had a few perks. When we got about a mile down the road, it started to act up and stopped running, and if it did run I still shouldnt've driven it home (I probably shouldnt've bought it in the first place, though). There was a bushing on the steering wheel that was bad, so I could move the steering wheel however I wanted to. It also didn't have good brakes, it overheated, and the shifter bushings were shot. Oh, and the car hadn't been insured and had sat outside of the guys barn for all three years. It took three days to get it running again. Since we've picked it up, here's everything we've had to replace, all adding up to almost $3000. -Supercharger -Shifter bushings -Tie rods -C/V boots -Driver's side wheel hub -Strut bearings -Suspension -Tires -Belts (almost need to be done again, and it's only been about 15k miles :screwy:) -Normal oil changes and such -Cruise control module -power steering pump -Waterpump -A/C compressor died -Relayed e-codes -Various nuts and bolts PO didn't replace -All new switches inside -ISV -New fender Shit that's gone wrong: -Wheels fall off -Caught on fire twice -Almost blew up -Tie rods locked -Passenger side suspension kept coming loose, regardless of how tight we made it -Spoiler broke -headlights weren't relayed -Fog light switch died -Various battery drains -ISV I'm sure I'm forgetting some on both of those, but that's the jist of it. So here I am, one year, three grand and 19k miles later, with a reliable *crosses fingers, knocks on wood, holy water, etc. etc.* Corrado that's still pulling strong (except for a damn battery drain that popped up tonight!!!! :pissed: :pissed: ) Women like it (shazing!) it's a good conversation piece, and it looks pretty damn good now. It's also taught me a hell of a lot about cars  All in all, it's been worth it... I need to finish the 16v though!!!!!! And I think you'll all be glad to know the stripes are going bye bye.
  12. Me and a few guys from my local club (Southwest Ohio Volkswagen) went out and took some shots of our Corrados, and I thought I'd share them with you all. And some awesome rollers taken by one of the other guys: d'oh! These are just a few... You can see them all (and get hi-res copies) here.
  13. Also over here the MK3 cabrios have it on the outside of the B pillar.
  14. Well, obviously, as you guys can see from the previous pic, the motor was in pretty rough shape. Over the last few days I've taken it apart and checked everything inside of it, and it's all in pretty good shape! I've spent a ton of time cleaning it up as well. I started the morning with this: And now have this: I'm psyched to get the head... Damn paychecks that only come every two weeks!!!!
  15. Over here we get a "What is that?" or an "It actually runs?" instead of an "I remember when they first came out!"
  16. It's those electrical gremlins, man! Most Corrado's are mechanically sound, but the electrics are what get 'em. :cuckoo:
  17. Well, here it is... My new 2.0ABA short block for my 16V build!!! It needs some major cleaning. I went out for a few hours today between my classes and worked at it and cleaned it up pretty good. These pics are from before I cleaned it.
  18. Man, that's terrible! I'm sorry to see this.
  19. I'm not sure which one it is, but there's a wire that comes off the back of the speedo. You can cut that, but I've heard if you do that it won't work with the switch, either. Not 100% sure, though.
  20. Chip, injectors, exhaust, intake... Probably a few other things I'm forgetting.
  21. Yeah, I was just experimenting with the stripes. I kind of like them to be honest. After I put those on I thought of a much better way to do it down the hood that I might try with vinyl once I repaint the car. If you're jealous of 32.7mpg, then I probably shouldn't show you this, which I took with my mobile on the way to a show yesterday morning: Unfortunately I still needed gas
  22. I rolled a Saab a few years ago. It's scary as hell to be in a car when you roll it. Hopefully I never have to relive it in my Corrado.
  23. We had a show north of me yesterday called Big Ohio. I just thought I'd share some of the pics from it so you guys can see how the dub scene is over here. These were all the cars from my local club that were there: You can view the entire album here.
