  2. I feel for you man, luckly most of my work is done from home as my dads a mechanic in his spare time, im from the north east so wouldnt know of any good garages, if i where you id sue the basta*d for the credit card fraud thats apaling (dunno if i spelt that right) you could go as far as sueing for stress if need be to help fund the full work needed to get your C right, i defo would not just leave it at that, you'll find with a lot of work your doing it can be done from home all it takes is a few tools which you could maybe borrow from a friend and take notes of what goes where if changeing things, for bigger jobs it might save you money to invest in one of the manuels mentioned, good luck with it all and i hope it all goes well, but seriously if possible sue that garage for every penny they have got and it will help fund putting your C right, get in touch with your soliciter to see where u stand, i personally think the odds are in your favour.

  14. Didnt mean for just scobby owners sorry, was along the lines of modden jap motors ect which are required to run 100 ron to stop detenation, yeah i heard it was out this week im up north so ill probs be the last to get it :( , only greece have 100ron ultimate hope we follow suit.
  15. Ok was hearing about some new fuel coming out this week by BP called ultimate supposed to be 100Ron, aimed at scobby owners ect which require that octane, only available in greece so far (100 ron) but not sure if we getting 100 ron or 98 ron ultimate. I hope the scooby owners dont mind shareing :), imagine the octane lvls with a octane booster :), also heard that shell optimax is only 96.5ron apparently after months of promoting the stuff they took it down from 98ron, been told BP super is the best stuff @ 97ron, hopefully 100ron later in the week, anyone else heard of this then?
  16. Hiya the trip meter is only really accurate over long distances, i drive to work which is about 5miles away most of it on major roads and says im getting 20-25mile to the galon (in a 1.8 16v, usally 35mpg), think its just an average mpg over a hole journey, oil on the plug leads could just be down to someone spilling oil in there at the last service.
  17. Thats awful, the roofs way to high on it slopes up far to much, dont appeal to me
  18. Hehehe talking about tape units u wanna see me my cracker of a sterio i have a stealth parcel shelf with 4 speakers in it plus all standard speakers wired up to a renault sterio thats probs come stright out of summit like a renult 11, pictures to follow,
  19. Hiya may upset a few ppl here but did a lot of research into different corrado engines when i was looking to buy one the 1.8 16v is quicker to 60mph than the g60 due to the gear ratios not been very good on a g60 but over 60 mph the g60 will leave you for dust i imagine, because the only thing stopping the g60 hitting 60mph quicker is the fact u gotta change gear just before u hit 60, hence the reason you see 1.8 16v been quicker to 60, and the 2.0L 16v is evenly matched to the 1.8 16v, the 1.8 16v is the quickest to 60 out of the hole corrado range excludeing the vr6, but suppose it all depends on the driver at the end of the day.
  20. More pics, one of them is of the de-locked passat handles.
  21. Hard to tell really, the insurance company may think that with you modding your engine ect that your a boy racer and you race everywhere u go, where as if u buy a vr and leave it standard they might not have the same opinon if it was standard, but they are a higher insurance group, best way to find out is phone the insurance company tell em what mods your thinking of doing then see how much of a rise you will get then try for vr insurance, its the only way of really knowing.
  22. the VR is group 19, hence the reason why insurance companys put the phone down on me when i tell em im 20yr old.
  23. There is a big difference with insurance for the 1.8 and 2L, insurance group 15 for the 1.8 and, 17 for the 2L, when reading up on the stats for the 2 they where identical in top speed and 0-60mph, the only thing u get with the 2L as standard what the 1.8 doesnt have is the ABS, personally i didnt see the point in paying more money for insurance for the sake of ABS which in my opinion should have knocked the insurance group down if anything, im 20 yr old also insurance is a little over 1k a year, with 5k limmited milage, and no mods stated.
